"You two are good boys who properly listen to what they're told." Their mother pat their heads

"Iruma, can you help me move these?" Their father points to some boxes

"Sure!" Iruma happily replied

"(M/N), can you help clean this up?" Their father points to the floor

"Yes!" (M/N) smiled

"Can you two clean the toilet?" Their mother asked

"Yes!" The twins happily grabbed some sponges

"Oh what good boys!..."Their father smiled...

"Then...Can we sell you two to a demon?" Their parents innocently asked

"Sur-..." They paused

"NO WAY!!!" Iruma jolted, almost falling off the bed

"AHHH NII-SAN WHAT, WHAT'S WRONG?! -oww...that hurts ..." (M/N) quickly rose up out of bed which caused him to get a headache

"Ah..." was all Iruma said

"GOOD MORNING, MY PRECIOUS GRANDCHILDREN!~ It's Ojii-chan~!!" Sullivan said bursting through the door

"A-ah, good morning Ojii-chan.." Iruma hesitated while (M/N) was still scared by all the loud voices to answer along

"Ah~ what a beautiful tone for the ears~" Sullivan coddled

"Did you two sleep well?" Sullivan aasked

"Yep!..Though I woke up because of Nii-san" (M/N) sulked in his seat

"Ah...sorry (M/N)..." Iruma apologised

"Hahahaha, it's all right Nii-chan! I would've overslept if you didn't scare me" Everyone laughed

"*Nom* Ohhh!!" (M/N) bit on a piece of the 'shrimp' in front of him and quickly had stars in his eyes

"Go on, eat some more. You two are growing boys after all." Sullivan said

"Yes!" They then proceeded to stuff their stomachs as much as they can handle...Iruma ate the most...

"Th-that's a lot Nii-san..." (M/N) sweat dropped

"Here, tea." Opera gave the twins a cup of tea

"Ahhh, thank you Opera-san...*Sips* the tea is great~!" (M/N) melted as he drank the tea

"Today's the first day of school, right~?" Sullivan asked

*PFFFF-* Iruma choked on his tea by the sudden announcement

"N-nii-san?!!!" (M/N) wiped the tea off Iruma's clothes

"U-um, I need to discuss something with you..." Iruma said, (M/N) didn't know what it was so he looked at his brother with a clear question mark over his head.

"Ah, before that" Sullivan cut him off

"Look,look!~ I already went on ahead and splurged!~ This is to congratulate you two on your entry to the school!~~" He went off the show the twins what he bought for them

"For....us?" (M/N) tilted his head

"We already received a lot from you yesterday..." Iruma spoke as (M/N) nodded

"Oh~ that's for celebrating my first grandchildren! These are for your school entry."

"This...is too much coddling!!!" The twins thought

"Opera and I even did embroidery! How is it? How is it??" Sullivan showed them a handkerchief

"Ohhhh!!! The design is simple yet it looks perfect!" (M/N) looked at the handkerchief with stars in his eyes

"Although it was tiring because I'm not used to embroidery, it was fun!" Sullivan showed them his bandaged up hand

"Amazing..." (M/N) thought while Iruma was just silent

"AH an alarm clock! This, will help you wake up easily without fail!~" He shows them a bird with horns shaped clock. Iruma was shaking while (M/N) looked at it with stars in his eyes

"and, did you want something to say to me?" Both Sullivan and (M/N) looked at Iruma

"Ah...erm.....The school" Iruma was finding the right words to say

"The school~?" Sullivan smiled

"I don't want..."

"Don't want~?"

"erhm..."

"Hmm~?"

"I...want to go to school" Iruma gives in

"We'll be going now" The twins waved goodbye as they walked away

"Be careful on your way out~" Sullivan waves back

..."Yosh, I'll be following right behind. A video of their first day of school..." He said as he takes out his camera

"*grab* Today for the entire day, you'll be working at home." Opera drags Sullivan inside

"Ah~! Wait, Opera! No!"

As they were walking to school, other students started to fly past them quickly

"Humans wholly are our food. Eat their souls, blood and meat, without leaving anything behind...." The demons sing the school song

"Ah I'm at loss" One of the student council members rubbed his head

"And then..." the other chattered

"Hey, you guys..." One tries to get them to straighten up

"Don't chatter pointlessly!" The president shouts

"Yes!" All of them fixed their postures immediately

"Listen! Demons are one to terrify their opponents with their voice! Vocalisation is the basics to intimidation! Do not be negligent!" She scolded

"Yes! Good Morning! Good Morning Everyone!" They complied

"Continue." She ordered

"Good Morning! Good Morning Everyone!"

"Today's going to be familiar summoning!" " I wonder what my familiar will be..." "I'm so excited!" A conversation which piqued (M/N)'s interest got him to think

"Nii-san, what do they mean by 'familiars'?" He questioned

"I don't know...I guess we'll find out later." Iruma smiled to his brother

"Hmm, I wonder if it's something close to a "demon friend"..." (M/N) murmured

"Good Morning, Iruma-sama, (M/N)-sama! I've been waiting since 6 hours and 6 minutes earlier!" A wild Asmodeus appeared!

"Uhh..." (M/N) was confused

"Goo-good Morning , Asmodeus-kun..- Wait 6 hours?!!!" Iruma jolted

"Yes. In the darkness in the middle of the night, right here." Asmodeus kneels

"There's no need to do that Asmodeus-kun..." (M/N) sweat dropped

"Is that so?...Ah! Please call me 'Azz' !" He smiled

"Azz-...kun...?"Iruma and (M/N) asked

"Yes! Please allow me to hold your bags!" He stands up

"Ah! Th-there's no need for that!" The twins shake their head

"It's the scholarship student, Iruma!" "Have you seen the school newspaper?" "So it's true he got the honour student to serve under him" Gossip was heard behind them, exaggerating the truth

"Uhmm, Azz-kun...Where do we go again?" (M/N) asked

"You two are in the same group as me"

"Group?" The twins ask

"Yes, A hundred and sixty three freshmen are separated into groups. And do preparations before official classes start, because there are too many to handle at once" He explained

"That makes sense" Iruma commented

"Today is our familiar summoning ceremony, let's head over to the familiar classroom." He leads them

"What exactly is that, Azz-kun?" (M/N) asked

"It's Babyls' traditional event. After enrollment, everyone would summon their own demon beasts to be their servant."

"And that is a familiar?" It was Iruma's turn to ask

"Yes. And by the level of the summoned familiar, the students will be ranked accordingly. Increasing your rank is tied to your school results here at Babyls" He explained

"Oh, that seems fair." (M/N) said as he fixed his eye mask

"(M/N)-sama, why do you wear such a mask?" Asmodeus asked

"I...still have a scar from before...." (M/N) lied, but Asmodeus didn't know that

"Who hurt (M/N)-sama?!!" Asmodeus got angry

"Oh! Don't worry Azz-kun! It was entirely my fault"(M/N) smiled brightly

"(M/N)-sama....What exactly happened?..." Asmodeus looked at him with a worried expression

"Well, I was in the forest because I wanted to see what was in there. Out of curiosity, I got closer to a beast...and let's just say it was being greedy and was able to attack me. Luckily Ojii-chan was there to save me!" He smiled

"That's... a good cover-up story..." Iruma thought

"Oh! How brave you are! But (M/N)-sama, please don't go to the forests, many demons really get badly injured..." Asmodeus cried

As they reach the room, Asmodeus opens the door for them, and once they went inside the air was warmer.

"Th-this is kind of nerve racking" Iruma stutters

"By the way, the results will also affect the class allocation" Asmodeus points his finger

"So basically this is to put together students for their classes?" (M/N) asked him

"Yes." He answered

"And the one-in-charge is rather famous from what I recall...I believe it's for being scary and strict..."

*BAAM* the doors burst open

(M/N)'s POV

"Its the scary teacher from yesterday..." I remembered

"Silence." He said

"What's he holding?" I squinted my eyes

"I am the inspector, Naberius Kalego. I have always been in-charge of this event. Why?Because I am always strict.I will determine whether you are useless garbage or somewhat useful garbage." He introduced himself

He walks towards us until he faces Nii-san.

"For example, if there's garbage who borrows his grandfather's authority to chant vulgar incantations, and even causes an uproar on the same day...They will be punished, immediately." He threatened

He stands back up and continues his speech

"And anyone who performs poorly will be expelled."

He then brings out a pink "cute" board to the front where everyone can see

"Silence." He ordered

"Easy! A lecture on familiar summoning!" A shaking heart appears for the introduction

"1. Draw a circle with your blood on the parchment,

2. Take the parchment and step inside the magic circle!

3. Hold the parchment over the candle, and let it burn,

4. The smoke will take shape and become your familiar!~

Well everyone, let's tr-"

*punch* Before the shaking heart could even finish, the teacher punches it causing it to turn off

"And that's it for the explanation." He casually said

"The heart looked like it was on drugs" I mentally laughed

"Use this parchment that has my mark on it. That way, I will know if anyone starts cheating." He glares

One of the students asked if it was dangerous, to which he said that it was a "foolish question"

"Because only races that can be enslaved are summoned and bound...They are familiars. If your familiar raises a hand against you...punishment shall fall upon them, however the punishment will depend on the blood pact that has been made.

He walks up to where the summoning circle is and starts telling us to line up silently

"His hostility is completely showing, that man." Azz-kun frowned

"Hmm" Nii-san hummmed while (M/N) nodded

"I'll attack if you order me!" He said looking at Nii-san with anticipation

"No, you can't. I won't even give that kind of order!" Nii-san shook his head in fear

"Is that so..." I can see his ears fall in sadness

"Is that what happens when they get sad? Demons are different to humans...but then again, there are similarities" I thought

"I said "line up", are you deaf?" The scary teacher asked the three of us

I looked at our surroundings only to see the other students already lined up.

I see the other students burn the parchments with their blood on it and burn them one by one. Their familiars are quite like the animals from our world...but they had either extra parts like wings or they look like more than one animal at once...some of them look completely different .

"Wah...Amazing" Me and my brother said as we looked at each familiar

"Oh, Nii-san, Azz-kun is next!~I wonder what his familiar is, it must be strong, no?" I said

"I won't be surprised if it was strong" Nii-san sweat dropped

He placed his parchment on the candle and the smoke danced as the paper burned. The smoke became larger and larger slowly forming shape into a.......large serpent(?)....

"Whoa...the color of the serpent..." I was speechless. Everyone looked at Azz-kun with amazement.

"Amazing, Azz-kun!" Nii-san and I said as we approached said male

"Thank you for your kind words.But, compared to the soon-to-be summoned demon beast by the both of you... " He bowed

"We wonder..." We both said as we looked at each other

"Next, (M/N)" The teacher said. I suddenly got anxious

"I don't think a human can do this though..." I thought

"Y-yes" I approached the candle and placed the paper on top of it. I didn't see any smoke until I looked behind me...the student's shadows disappeared and rushed towards me. The shadow took form and engulfed me inside. I closed my eyes, waiting for any sort of pain, but it never even came. As I open my eyes I only saw the dome the shadows had formed.

"What?..." I only looked at the shadows in surprise.

"(M/N)!!" I hear Nii-san call my name

"I'm fine!" I replied

"What are yo-" before I can finish asking one part of the shadow formed a blade and charged at me, I easily dodged it but fell on my butt.

I thought it would try to attack me again but I was shocked when I heard something that came out of it.

"Hmm, you're ok..." The shadow said

"Huh?" As I said that, the shadow-dome broke and went over my head and formed a ball.

"(M/N)!! Are you okay??!!!!" Nii-san asked me

"Y-yes, I'm fine" I stood back up

As I looked at the other students, all eyes were on the huge shadow ball hovering over my head

"What are you?..." I finally and properly asked the shadow above me

It didn't respond. All it did was move to the floor in front of me and glow. It suddenly took form of a.........small black kitten the size of my hands, it's eyes...looked exactly like mine...

"All that for something as small as that?" "It's so small" "Aww, so cute" "What? Is that a familiar?" "That was anti-climatic" I've heard the other students say

"What are you saying about me?!?" It suddenly spoke

"?!" Everyone was shocked

"Don't ever look down on me!" The kitten grew back to its form as a shadow, scaring the others

"H-hey! Don't scare them!" I tried to stop it...

"Sorry, Master" It said as it returned back to its kitten form

"The hell?...It actually worked?" I mentally celebrated

"Sensei! He cheated!" I heard a student from the back said

"No. He didn't." He glared at the student

"Ohhh! Her fur is so fluffy!!!~" I said while rubbing it's small back with sparkles in my eyes

"H-hey! Master! I'm not a 'her', I'm a boy!" He said

"oh! Sorry!" I quickly apologised

"*Sigh * It's fine, Master. I'd often get mistaken as a girl" He said as I picked him up and stepped off the summoning circle

"Nii-san, Azz-kun, look!" I said as I showed him the cute kitten in my hands

"Whoa...he's so cute" Iruma pet him

"Thank you!" The kitten smiled

"As expected, (M/N)-sama has a stronger familiar than I. And to have summoned a familiar who speaks our language!" Azz-kun cried in joy

"Hehehehe~" I wasn't paying attention to anyone other than my familiar

"Ah! What's your name, little kitten?" I remembered

"I have no name, if it's not too much to ask...Can you be the one to name me, Master?" The kitten asked me as I placed him down

"Hmm...." I thought deeply

"How about "Azrail"?" I smiled innocently

"I know exactly what it means, the angel of death. This is just a warning to anyone who hurts you, little one"

""Azrail"....What a fitting name for me, Master! From now on I shall be called "Azrail"!!" He jumped in happiness around my feet

"Ahh, even giving a befitting name your familiar...how wonderful (M/N)-sama" Azz-kun said

"Hehehe, thank you, Azz-kun!" I smiled

Narrator's POV

Just as (M/N) said "Azrail" everyone but Iruma knew the hidden threat of the name.

"These kids..." Kalego glared harshly

"Next, Iruma!" Iruma jolted

"You can do it Nii-san!~" (M/N) encouraged him

"Y-yes!"

"If I'm correct...I'll be expelled if I fail..."Expelled!!"...That's right! If I'm expelled from the school, then this is good!" Iruma laughed in joy

"He's laughing a lot" "What's going on?" "As expected Iruma-sama!"

"Haa, poor Nii-san..."(M/N) sighed

"Hmm? What was that, (M/N)-sama?" Asmodeus asked

"Ah. It's nothing..." He frowned

As Iruma burned the paper, a circle appears on the floor in front of him revealing....half of Kalego-sensei...?

"Eh!!!" They both were shocked

"What is this!! What did you do?!!!!" Kalego shouted

"No, I-I have no idea--"

"Stop it!! Stop the summoning!!!"

"Y-yes!" Iruma said as he runs towards Kalego's lower half and pulls them

"AAAAAA! Do you want to break my body!!! It's tearing!!" He screamed in pain

"Idiot! In this case, you should push!!!" He ordered

"S-sorry" Iruma proceeded to push his lower half

"This isn't going to end well..." Azrail said as he was placed on top of (M/N)'s head

"I know..." He agreed with said kitten

"No! Not my legs! Come here and push my head!-"But he was too late

*Poof* Smoke appears in the magic circle only to reveal....a flying chicken?...

"huh...?"

The flying chicken touches his fluffy body and looks back at Iruma...only to faint and fall to the floor

"S-sensei!!" Iruma panicked

"Oh no...-" (M/N) and Azrail looked at Kalego

"Azz-kun, something terrible has happ-" Iruma was cut off by Asmodeus' own comment

"I'm deeply impressed! To think, you have made Kalego-sensei as your familiar....So you were indeed angry with Kalego-sensei's attitude, I see! What a wonderful example to others!" Asmodeus cried in joy

"That was just an accident! H-how do I say it?...." Iruma panicked

"Impossible..." Kalego revived

"That I...that I would be a familiar?!! Don't joke around, you insolent brat! Release the contract immediately!!---GRAHHHHHHHH" He threatened, but a lightning bolt strikes him causing him to fall

"Sensei!!!" Iruma panicked

"Ohhh!!" "So this is the punishment..." "Wow!!" "I guess a familiar really can't raise a hand on their master..."
