《The Flash GIF Imagines》Kitchen goof off-Iris West

"Iris, are you sure your dad has milk at his place?" You asked, rummaging through the refrigerator, taking several items off the shelves and putting them into a large brown paper bag. You heard footsteps sound behind you, most likely meaning your girlfriend had joined you in the kitchen.
You stopped what you were doing and turned around to see Iris raising her eyebrows at you.
"Of course he has milk, that's like the main ingredient for just about everything," she said, stalking over to you. She reached over and grabbed the bag from your hands. She rested one hand on the bottom of the bag and used the other to rummage through the bag.
You watched has her eyebrows began to furrow into a straight line.
"Y/N, what's all of this for?" She asked, clearly confused. You put your hands on your hips.
"They're ingredients...I want to make sure I have everything for dinner tonight...I don't want anything to go wrong," you said. Iris looked back up at you and smiled.
"Don't worry Y/N, I'll be right there with you, to make the best dinner for my family but..." she began. You raised an eyebrow at her.
"But?" Iris sighed and smiled a huge grin.
"But, you don't need all of this, my dad has all of this at his house," she said. You frowned.
"Are you sure?" You asked, worried. She nodded sweetly and moved closer to the fridge. She pulled the door open and began to put everything back where it came from. You sighed and slumped your shoulders.
"I guess we'll just show up to the house and make the food then," you said. Iris closed the fridge and put a hand on your shoulder.
"We're just making dinner, think of it as a date...The two of us are just going to have fun and cook and maybe steal a few kisses," she said smiling. You gave her a soft smile.
"Alright, sounds like a plan, but can I steal a kiss now?" You asked. She nodded and leaned over to plant a soft, short kiss to your lips before pulling you with her to the door.
---Time Skip---
You followed Iris to the door of the house and waited patiently for her dad to let you inside after Iris had knocked. Soon, you saw Joe's face appear in the glass that was shaped in vertical rectangles at the top of the door.

He opened the door and smiled widely at the two of you before pulling Iris into a hug.
"Welcome home honey...Ready for tonight's dinner?" he asked. Iris nodded eagerly.
"Yep and we brought different clothes, so we'll just change when the dinner is done," she said. Joe nodded.
"Sounds like a plan. Well, Barry needs some help down at the lab, so I'll be in and out today...Just let me know if you need anything," he said, before stepping to the side so that the two of you could enter the house.
When you finally made it into the kitchen, the two of you began to get to work immediately. While you grabbed the ingredients, Iris grabbed out the pans, bowls, mixer, and anything else she thought that the two of you might need in order to accomplish your task.
"So what are we making today chef Y/N?" Iris asked jokingly. You glanced at her out of the corner of your eye.
"Well the dinner part is easy, we're just going to make spaghetti..." You began before Iris cut you off.
"Wait-you were freaking out about spaghetti? Oh honey no, all we do is put the noodles in boiling water and let them cook," she said, shaking her head. You rolled your eyes.
"I know, I was freaking out about the cookies I plan to make for dessert," you said. You watched as Iris came to that realization before you removed the pot full of water from the sink and moved it to the burner. The water that was at the bottom of the pot began to make popping noises until all was dried up. Now, you just had to wait for the water in the actual pot to boil.
You turned around to Iris. "Are you ready to make some cookies love?" Iris smirked before giving you a nod. The two of you were soon in full swing, mixing together the ingredients, making the dough, cutting shapes out of the dough, and then putting them on a baking pan.
You looked down at the unbaked cookies and sighed. "Well, they sort of look like snowflakes," you said, disappointed. Iris looked at you reassuringly.
"Hey, it's the thought that counts. And anyways it's the flavor that matters," she said.
"Yeah I guess you're right," you said, before opening the oven and putting the cookies in. You patted your hands on your apron and looked up at Iris only to get a face full of flour in that moment.

You quickly brought your hands up to your face in an attempt to wipe the flour away. "Iris-!" You cried. You heard her laughing hysterically.
You squinted your eyes in order to look at her so that you didn't get flour in your eyes. "Are you trying to kill me? I could have suffocated."
Iris rolled her eyes, still smiling. "Don't be so dramatic." You felt yourself beginning to smile. You reached over into the flour bag that sat between you and Iris. Pulling out a handful of flour, you threw it at Iris, who screeched.
"Y/N!" She said, laughing. You smirked, but suddenly regretted it when a few flakes of flour fell into your mouth from your face. It didn't take long before the two of you were covered head to toe in flour and were on the floor laughing uncontrollably.
"Iris?! Y/N?! What the hell happened in here? It looks like a snowman exploded," Joe shouted, looking around the kitchen in disbelief. You and Iris quickly stood up and began to truly take in the monstrosity that was now the kitchen.
You inhaled briefly before glancing at Joe. "Look Mr. West, I'm, truly sorry...Iris and I-We'll clean this up right away," you said nervously. Joe nodded.
"Well that was the plan. I want this place spotless by the time the others arrive," he began, taking a moment to glance down at his watch. "Which seems to be in about twenty minutes, so get to cleaning." Joe sent us both one more disapproving look before walking away.
"I expected better from you Iris and Y/N....I-I certainly didn't expect this," Joe yelled from the living room. You looked over at Iris and frowned before beginning to clean up your mess. Soon enough, you pulled the cookies out of the oven and began to make your way out of the kitchen in order to get ready.
"Y/N wait up!" Iris said, running after you. You couldn't help but giggle, that was until you heard someone opening the front door and caught a brief glance of Barry. You quietly cussed to yourself and bolted for the stairs alongside Iris.
----Time Skip----
You and Iris stood by the mirror in the bathroom, taking in your appearance. The both of you had managed to quickly clean yourselves up and make yourselves presentable for the dinner. After a few more seconds, Iris turned towards you.
"Look babe, I know this wasn't how you wanted your first impression to go, but it's not like this little mishap is going to ruin your chances of gaining my father's liking forever," she said, patting me on the arm. I looked over at her unsure.
"I guess, really I just want to get through this dinner, so I can go home and sleep," you said, causing Iris to cast you a saddened look before leading you to the dinning room.
----Time Skip----
The entire dinner had consisted of you sitting there, occasionally talking to Iris while the others laughed among themselves. At one point you had planned on getting up and going to the bathroom where you planned to stay for the rest of the night, but Iris held to down and cast you a glare that made you decide otherwise.
Just when you were feeling hopeless, Joe bit into one of the cookies you and Iris had baked and turned to you excitedly.
"This tastes amazing Y/N! Where did you learn to make these?" He asked. You felt your face redden at the sudden conversation.
"Oh...Uh...My mom used to bake them for me all of the time," you said. Joe smiled.
"Well, they taste absolutely amazing, this might just redeem you for earlier," he said, casting you a toothy smile.
"What happened earlier?" Barry asked. When no one answered him, he rolled his eyes and started a new conversation with Wally.
You cast a smile at Joe. "Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I really want to get to know you. Do you think we can start over?" You asked. Joe looked over at a hopeful Iris and then sighed.
"Sure why not? Hello, I'm Joe, Iris's father, you must be Y/N. I've heard quite a lot about you...So, where did the two of you meet?" He asked. You let out a giggle and turned towards Iris, sighing.
"Well, it's kind of a long story...."

Conquest of Avalon
Revenge. The Kingdom of Avalon swept across the Empire of the Fox a generation past, conquering the heartlands and leaving the broken remnants to stew in the island duchy of Guerron. This isn't a story of Good versus Evil, of kindly kings doing their best to lift all subjects, or of unvarnished heroes doing battle against evil. Instead, this story is about power: who has it, who wants it, and what people will do to obtain it. It is about the violence inherent in the imperial project and how even the most well-intentioned rulers and conquerors are, still, engaging in systemic violence against those conquered and defeated. Our three point-of-view characters are a peasant turned fire wizard, an excitable duelist with more enthusiasm than sense, and a scheming mage-priestess bent on reclaiming her family's birthright and waging war on the foreign oppressors who rule her home... no matter the cost in blood or treasure.
