3rd Person
As Jordan, Mike and Austin leave to do their investigating. John on the other hand is where he said he will be. in his office making a phone call.
"You want me to come back after you told me to go home?" Jack's voice is loud on the phone that is held near John's ear.
"Sarah found some type of place which sells magical kelp that can get Stella back on her fishtail. If the kelp does help Stella then I won't be able to comfort Sarah if anything particular happens to the dolphin. That is why you must return when I call you back to tell you what to do." John explains his thoughts all on Sarah being closer to his side with strong trust.
Somehow, he feels like Sarah's trust in him will wain with fishboy getting all her attention. That merman isn't going to corrupt my Sarah.
"What is in it for me?" Jack asks testing the waters of the bargain.
"Do this and you will be taking care of fishboy while I will make Sarah mine," John says looking out his window, his eyes on the waves of the Mediterranean sea.
"Hmm, I think that will do. I will be ready." Jack responds on the line.
"Good." John ends the call and a smirk crosses his face.
Soon my little siren you will be mine for pleasurable riches.
Sarah walks into the Kelptide Wonders and the scary feeling she had as a child returns. Shoulders tense she walks further into the store.
"What Argh you doing here missy?" A scratchy voice calls at the counter and through a magnifying glass sees an onyx eye looking at her.
"I am here for the kelp that can heal any sea animal." her breath shudders slightly as her eyes land on the DRAGON! behind the counter.
The dragon has grey-white scales with long dull horns, big curled wings behind him, and at the corner of the backdoor to where all the other trinkets are is a long grey-blue tail with a fin on top that starts from the top of his head all the way down.
"Uh, what happened to the man who worked here before?" She asks the creature.

"What do you mean? I am the only person you see in here as it is my shop!" the dragon slithers his tongue out in a slight hiss.
"What do you mean person? You're a dragon!" the creature's eyes widen in surprise.
"You can see me?" he asks her leaning his head across the counter and closer to her face in which Sarah leans her head back.
"Yeah!" Sarah says trying not to jet out of here and away from the creature.
"Hmm, that is strange, nobody has been able to see my true form. The only creatures able to see are the merfolk in the sea and animals." he returns his head back behind the counter.
"Right well I am neither of those things so...yeah!" not really knowing what to say about the situation.
"Hmm, kelp you asked for?" the creature scratches the fins under his long jaw.
"Yeah, a dolphin at the Aquarius aquarium has returned back to her trauma and before beginning therapy that will last months, I thought your kelp can help. My mother did say it does wonders," The young girl explains to the scaly thing in front of her.
The dragon isn't as tall as I thought a dragon would be but I have lost all sense of figuring out the mythical world. The only thing I want to figure out is my family secrets.
"What is your name child?" the male in front of her asks.
"Sarah, Sarah Wavers." The creature's head perked up at hearing my name.
"You wouldn't be one of the children of Derek and Kaimana Wavers?" the dragon bends his head to look at the young mermaid in front of him.
"I am the oldest daughter!" she tells him unsure if this is a good idea.
"Hmm, curious. The Wavers would never let their children anywhere alone, especially in my shop." the dragon turns his head puzzled.
"My parents and little sister are dead. They died five years ago during that storm." Sarah inquire him of my parent's fate to the sea.
"Oh, is that so. Anyway, not to worry dearie. Let me go and get the vial of kelp for you." the dragon walks off to the back door.

Sarah takes a deep breath trying to settle her nerves but she can't stop shaking at seeing a dragon.
'I think when I give Stella the potion I am going home.'
Wait! She can't! she has to supervise the merman for night duty. That is what all of the employees do when there is a new creature in the aquarium.
She didn't do it the other night but tonight is a must. She doesn't want to slack off of her duties. But, John said that he will hold up the fort while she is gone. Does that mean he will take her night shift?
Sarah has to ask him after she returns. Sarah breaks out of her thoughts when the dragon enters back with two small vials in his claws. One has the green kelp she need and the other is a blue liquid that she did not see included with the kelp.
"Here is the kelp for your fish friend. Hope.." he trails off not knowing if the creature is male or female.
"She!"
"She gets better. Also, you will need this. How old are you dear?" the dragon asks putting the vials on the counter.
"I am 20." the creature nods thinking if the girl in front of him has developed her mermaid self yet.
"Have you experienced any voices in your head or hear singing? Can hear clearly underwater or possibly got attracted to gold for the last few years after turning 18?" the girl think back to this morning and nod. Sarah endured all the things the dragon has just asked her.
"Just today it happened. All of those things happened one after another." Sarah informs the male.
"Ah, has there been anything that influenced or anything different come in your life today that is beyond the usual?" the dragon is wondering if the aquarium got a merman.
It is only a merman that can awaken a mermaid inner siren if the female is on land. Oh and also the female would begin their mermaid heritage if they meet their soulmate.
For this girl to go through her entire life without enduring this earlier means she has been on land too long and didn't meet any merman.
Parents don't count as they are of the same blood. It is only different blood, merman or maid blood that can awaken the siren in the human.
"Well, we did get a merman in the aquarium yesterday," Sarah says wondering what the merman got to do with anything.
"Have you kissed him?" the dragon raises his left eyebrow at her.
"No!" A quick answer tells the truth.
"Well, then you got your answer. A merman or mermaid kiss can give you some of its senses and powers if the male/female allows it. He must see you as trustworthy to give you his power." the dragon lies through his fangs.
It is not in the dragon's nature to tell the mermaid her heritage. She must find out on her own. Although what he has said is half true. A mere kiss can give you some powers but only if the merfolk allow it.
"That fishboy is now going to get it! I nearly got choked by the gold necklace all because of him." Sarah exclaims mad.
"Gold necklace! Gold is dangerous my dear. Even I as a dragon fear it to the very core. Gold corrupts, it turns you to yearn for it as you yearn for air as you breathe. Never go near gold again, especially after kissing a merman or mermaid. " the dragon warns the girl.
Sarah nods understanding how gold corrupt and attracts the greed within you to come out.
"Anyway, this blue vial will keep the merman powers at bay if he kisses you again. But be warned, there are many ranks of merfolk out there, if this merman is of high rank, the stronger his powers and the less this liquid will help you. So take my advice, push the merman lips away from you and stay out of the water if he does kiss you." The dragon hands the vials to the young girl.
Before Sarah can inquire why she should keep out of water when kissing the merman the dragon inhales a huge gust of air and bellows at her.
"Aahhh!"
*Did she die!?
Or is the dragon just breathing on her?
Tell your friends as well if they enjoy a mystery*

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
