《Water Lovers》Chapter 13

*Hey, my lovelies, the chapter shall resume in Sarah's point of view just to tell you* You may continue reading. Thank you=)*
I enter quivering in fright from what the dragon just did to me. He nearly gave me a heart attack! I thought I was a goner for sure. Here is what happened!
'Aahhh' I cross my arms in front of my face if it will do any good but instead of feeling pain, I feel the water spray on me.
When the spray finished I lower my arms and see I am inside my car. I scream slightly less than before but scream nonetheless.
The lizard transported me back to my car with his water breath. So, he is a sea dragon! If he was any other dragon then I would not be sitting in my car, dry as a desert and still with the two vials in my hand.
I hope I will find out my family secret before I get killed by every myth that I seem to uncover in this world. Why did I take this job? It certainly is not because I wanted to endure getting kissed by a merman, or nearly die by a water bath from a dragon!
"Let's just focus on Stella for now." My hand shakily turn the key and turn on the ignition.
I press on the gas and head back to the aquarium. I sigh and focus on calming my beating heart. pressing on the screen to my right I tap John's number.
"Hello?" John's voice clears away any doubt I was dreaming.
"Hey John, it is me, Sarah. I got the vial and coming to the aquarium." I try to keep my voice from cracking but fail miserably when it quivers with each word.
"Great and you okay? You sound like you are in a horror film scared for your life?" John noticed, damn!

"Yeah, just nearly got attacked by a bird and it nearly got me to drop the vials. Thank god I ducked down in time." Sarah lies to her boss.
"Okay! Well, breathe and relax, everything is good here and I will wait for you at the entrance." John tells me and I nod.
"Okay be there soon." I hang up the call and grip the steering wheel with both hands tightly.
Things keep getting weirder.
I arrive at the aquarium and close the ignition taking the keys out. I take another breath in and out, calming my heart that still is thumping wild in my chest.
I see John walking over so I put the blue vial in my bra and hold the kelp in my hands. I grab my purse as the door on my left is opened.
"Sarah, you made it safe and sound." John offers me his right hand which I grip as I get out. My legs shake under my weight but after another deep breath, I compose myself.
"Yeah, how is Stella." Beep. Beep! I walk next to john and lock my car over my shoulder.
"She is still in the tank, on the floor and the three younger girls are around her clicking away." I fear for my fish friend some more.
"Well, let's hope this kelp is as wonderous as it sounds. Mike! Thank god you're here. Get Max and meet me at the dolphin tank with my dolphin tail. Go!" Mike nods and runs off, all manner of a determined gaze left and worry replace it.
"You look a bit shaken up! What happened?" John seems to know me too well.
"The guy behind the counter was a bit terrifying as it was a really old man." I lied to John about the dragon as he wouldn't believe me.

"Hm, well glad you're back and hopefully all will go well." We enter the dolphin underwater cave and looked at Stella who is lying there in front of the orange coral.
I glance at where her chest is and I see it huffing. John and I gaze at each other worried. He smiles softly and wraps an arm around my shoulders.
"Everything will be alright. Stella knows you and trusts you." I hope for Stella's sake that she trusts me to get out of her fear fast or else I...don't know...what to do....anymore!
Tears start gathering in my eyes and my body begins to shake in sadness. John tightens his arms around my shoulder and I lean my head on his shoulder. A single tear drops from my right eye and soon everything just falls.
"I don't want her to die! She is my big girl. I can't see her be put down!" I cry in John's chest, my voice whimpers and cracks.
"C'mon, I will be with you the whole time. It will be alright. Stella will be alright." John tells me as I let all the stress come out.
"Hey, look at me!" John lifts my chin as my eyes meet his deep blue ones.
"Everything will be alright." I see strong certainty in his eyes and my bottom lip quivers as my breath hiccups.
"I will take your word for it." John gently guides us to the backdoor where we ascend some stairs to get to the top of the platform.
Mike and Max are waiting there with the three young dolphins chirping at them. the two men look over as the door behind us closes.
Mike is the first to run over to us and gather me in his arms. Max follows dropping the tail fin down and pulls the both of us in a hug.
"You can do it cheesecake," Max whispers in my ear before breaking the hug.
"Yeah. If anyone can get Stella back on her tailfin is you, fish whisperer." Max nudges my arm with his left elbow.
"Thank guys. You are all a second family to me and I don't know what I'd do without any of you." the three of them smile tenderly at me.
I wipe all the tears away and walk over to the dolphin's tail. it is like the mermaid tail except it is in the grey color of a dolphin to help relax Stella in my presence. It also helps me be seen as a mother to the dolphins, that I am not a threat and that I care deeply for them.
I sit down with my knees bent and take off my suit. Mike and John look away out of courtesy while Max helps me put on the tail.
Slowly and calmly, I lower myself so the fin at the end is in the water.
The three dolphin females poke their snouts on the fin and then back away to give me space to hop in.
"Here goes nothing."
*I hope Stella will be okay!

Cateline Bennett, a princess consumed with ice, found herself lost in a foreign kingdom with nothing but her wits to survive. As she explores this unknown land, she unravels her past and discovers that the magic she had concealed for so long could unleash chaos so intense, it could destroy the world as she knew it. With her untapped magic and new friends, Cateline must vanquish the enemies that threatened the world of Denzethea as they knew it, else they, and all they knew, would crumble to ruin. NOTE: A review on this fiction has indicated that certain themes were traumatizing. While I believe this to be exagerated, I have added the appropriate tag for those who may be sensitive to those themes (fever dreams, delusions, and trials and tribulations).
