Jimin fiddled with his fingers, tips running over the rim of the ramyeon cup in his hands, eyes staring directly into those of the boy sitting next to him; arms pressed against each other's and a thin blanket spread over their crossed legs on the couch. The television in front of them was playing an episode of some overly exaggerated drama, forgotten by both the boys for a while now.
"Am I going to have to squeeze information out of you or are you going to spit it out already?"
Jimin averted his gaze and stuffed a mouthful of hot ramyeon, hissing slightly when it burned his tongue, resulting in the boy next to him erupting into a fit of loud cackles.
"Chim," the voice spoke with so much affection Jimin unconsciously nuzzled closer to press their arms firmer. "I'll tickle you if you don't tell me."
Jimin smiled at the harmless threat as he put away his cup of ramyeon on the glass coffee table in front of him. He turned completely to face the boy next to him, whose eyes were now shining as he waited for Jimin to start speaking.
"He dropped by the café today," Jimin's smile widened the slightest bit. "Asked me to make his drink so I did, and he enjoyed it Tae, he enjoyed my drink." The boy, Taehyung, grinned as he took in the smile that graced his best friend's face. "He said he'd come everyday to see me. I-" A slight pause. "No one has ever said that to me before. I just- I felt so happy?"
"If you don't mind me asking," Taehyung spoke, leaning over to ruffle Jimin's blond locks, "who is he?"
"Said his name was Jeon Jungkook."
Taehyung's hand withdrew itself from Jimin's hair as if he had just felt an electric shock pulsate throughout his body. His grin flipped itself to now mar a frown on his face as he stared at Jimin with absolute concern in his eyes. Jimin, on the other hand, was confused out of his mind as to why his platonic soulmate had recoiled at the name.

"Chim," a sigh escaped Taehyung's mouth. "Do you know who he is?"
Jimin shook his head, a frown planting itself onto his face, his brows furrowed together.
"Jeon is a guy whom you never want to get involved with. He is known for his extremely short temper that has often led to him doing bad things. And by bad things I mean as bad as it can get." Taehyung bit at his fingernails before continuing. "Studies at Hongik University that one. I heard he once beat up one of his classmates so bad the boy passed out and had to be rushed to the hospital."
Jimin's eyes shifted from Taehyung's to the small lint balls on the blanket draped over his lap. His mind was racing. He had never really heard about Jeon Jungkook before, but he figured Taehyung would know more than himself considering his best friend was a social butterfly and literally knew almost everyone in town.
"But he-"
"Didn't seem like that type?" Taehyung sighed, reaching out to take Jimin's hands in his own. "Must be masking his real self. Please be careful Chim. Don't fall prey to him and get yourself hurt. I'm warning you beforehand because I cannot bear to watch you walk into a self-destructing trap."
Jimin gulped and turned away, hesitantly pulling his hands away from those of his best friend's and folding them neatly on his lap. He opened and closed his mouth several times like a fish before finally finding his voice to respond to Taehyung.
"Tae, he really was nice to me. If the rumours are true I'd like to find out myself. I don't want to blindly believe Jungkook is a bad guy."
Taehyung ran a hand through his hair dejectedly and stood, checking the time on his mobile. His eyes then shifted to Jimin who was staring at him in worry about what he had said.

"It's late. We have college tomorrow." Taehyung spoke, bending over to pick his bag off the ground. "I'll take my leave now. I have to meet Bogum hyung before going home."
Jimin, thinking Taehyung was angry at what he had said, reached his hand out and grabbed onto the boy's shirt sleeve. "I-I'm sorry T-Tae. I never meant to offend y-you. I know you're only looking out for me."
Taehyung stared at Jimin before moving closer to him and taking his face in his hands. His fingers ran over blonde locks as his lips gently pressed against the smaller boy's forehead. He pulled back and smiled, a pure heartfelt smile.
"Never," he whispered softly. "I can never get mad at you Chim." He pulled Jimin to his feet and patted his head affectionately. "I'm always by your side no matter what. Okay? If that Jeon boy so much as thinks of hurting you in any way I will personally chop off his balls."
Jimin giggled, pulling Taehyung's collar and encasing him into a hug. The latter hugged back with equal fervor, never wanting his best friend to think he was mad at him.
"Good night Chim. See you tomorrow."
When Taehyung walked out the door, Jimin flopped onto the couch, folding the blanket and using it as a makeshift pillow as he curled into himself. For a few minutes he just blankly stared at the light being emitted from the television, pondering hard over Taehyung's words.
"He won't hurt me right?" Jimin muttered to himself as slight dread started creeping up his guts.
Taehyung was right in a way to be concerned. Jimin had been hurt too many times before. He wouldn't be able to take more if it came his way, especially in the form of Jeon Jungkook who he oddly trusted so much.
"They're just rumours," he spoke to himself, as if he were convincing himself not to think about whatever Taehyung had said before leaving. "Don't judge anyone based on rumours."
Jimin mentally crosschecked whether he had any assignments or reports left to complete for college the next day. Once he was sure there was no pending work to be done, he let the long stifled yawn escape his lips. Sleep overtook him in a matter of time, the television and the lights all switched on as he gave in and closed his heavy eyes.
