————————————————————————
"C'mon, I think we should all get cleaned up. I'll order some food from whatever is open at this hour and we'll talk about some stuff" Steve says breaking the silence
Stephen grabs Rory's hand and helps her to the elevator, everyone gets off on their respective floor
Stephen gets off with Rory and walks with her to her room
"I'm not gonna blow up you know. My ring is back on, I'm not gonna do anything. I don't need a babysitter" Rory says calmly after he closes the door behind them
"I know your not going to do anything. And I'm not here to babysit you. I'm here as your soulmate" he says gently as he wraps his arms around her
She exhales and sinks into Stephen's hold
He pulls away after a few minutes and leads Rory towards her bathroom
He sat her by the bathtub and started to fill it with warm water
"C'mon" he says helping her off the counter when the tub was almost full
He took off his clothes and helped unzip her suit and take it off
He let Rory get into the bathtub first then sat behind her, letting her lean back on him
"You know you can talk to us right?" He said after a few minutes of silence
"I've officially killed both of my parents" she says
There's no particular emotion in her voice or face, not sad, and not happy, just...numb, nothing
"You didn't kill your mother, I know you won't believe me, but you did not kill her. Parents care about their children, I bet you that she's happy and in peace because your still alive, happy and living the life you always wanted" Stephen said calmly holding her tighter
"I know I cried before, but am I evil, because I feel nothing anymore. I don't feel bad about killing him. If anything I feel... relived?" She says slightly furrowing her eyebrows

"You're not evil sweetheart" Stephen says chuckling slightly
"That man had not been in your life for years. None of us feel guilt when we kill or hurt people in order to complete our missions. This was just like another mission for you. You shouldn't feel guilty or upset. You feel relived because the threat is eliminated" he tells her
"If this whole superhero thing doesn't work out for you, you could totally be a therapist" Rory says with a small smile
Stephen laughs and kisses her temple
Eventually he scoots her forward and starts to wash her hair for her
He massage her scalp making her close her eyes in peace
He finishes up and lets her wash his hair too after her pouting and making puppy dog eyes at him
They both get out of the bath eventually and get dressed comfortably
Rory puts on pajama pants and a bralette, her hair loose so it could air dry
Her and Stephen both make their way downstairs and to the living room
"Took you two long enough" Sam mumbled
"Food isn't even here yet, calm down" Natasha said rolling her eyes
Rory takes a seat next to Peter on the loveseat
He immediately wraps his arm around her and lets her lean into his body
"Are you feeling ok?" Peter asked obviously concerned
"I'm ok" Rory said giving him a small smile
"Rory, eventually you're going to have to tell me exactly what happened" Fury said almost reluctantly
"I know, it's protocol. Can we just wait a few days?" She asked
"Of course, you focus on school and getting better, we can wait" Fury said
"We'll talk soon" he said before entering the elevator to exit the tower
"You're not going to school tomorrow" Tony said with his arms crossed

"Why not?" Rory asked raising an eyebrow
"I don't think I need to explain. This was obviously a, uh um, 'difficult' mission for you. You should take a break" he finished
"You guys don't have to tip toe around me. Really, I'm fine, the crying was just a moment of weakness, I'm perfectly fine" she said with a smile brightly
They all just sit quietly and stare and her skeptically
"Oh my god, I'm being serious. What do I have to do to convince you all that I'm fine?" She asked sitting up to face them all
"We just want to make sure you're ok. It's ok if your not fine, we're here for you and we're gonna take care of you doll" Steve says, everyone else nods in agreement
"I know, but honestly, I said the same thing to Stephen, I feel fine, relived even" Rory said trying to convince them
Before anyone would say anything, Jarvis let them know that food was on its way up
The elevator doors opened to reveal bags of Chinese takeout
Steve, who was closest to it, got up and took it to the table
The rest followed and took their places at the table
That night Rory went to her room and laid awake in bed
She tried to sleep but she just couldn't
And she had already told everyone that she wanted to sleep alone tonight
After another hour of staying awake she sighed and got up
She tiptoed across the hall and knocked on Natasha's door, to which there was no answer
She walked a little further and knocked on Clint's door
To her surprise Natasha opened the door wearing only Clint's shirt and underwear
She glances into the room and sees Clint putting on pants
"Crap, sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you guys" Rory said swallowing thickly
She turns around and walks back to her room before Natasha can even say anything
"Why'd she leave?" Clint asked sadly
"I think she thought that we were in the middle of something and she bothered us. She walked away before I could say anything" Natasha said
The two looked at each other before they both walked out their room

Collective Thinking
Dyna Graves grew up thinking she was special. An exception to the average. Not necessarily above her peers, but simply outside their context. However, toward the end of her high school life, she started to realize that nobody was really special. At least not in any fantastical way. Almost immediately, Dyna realized that she wasn’t quite up to the same level as many of her peers.
