Scrappy rested on the couch. "Morning Scrappy!" Tiny barked, waltzing into the room. "Uh-Huh?" Scrappy said sitting up in a confused way. "Why do you seem so sleepy?" Tiny asked. "BECAUSE I AM!" Scrappy yelled. "Yeesh! Relax Scrappy!" Tiny snapped. Scrappy pouted. "Look, I know it's hard, but you are doing great! A-side from the mood swings- and the eating- and the-" Scrappy interrupted Tiny. "I'M MOODY I GET IT!" Scrappy screamed. Tiny stood, shocked. P.U.P walked in. "Yo Dawg, I heard some yelling, everything okay?" He asked. "I WANT SOME BACON CASSEROLE!" Scrappy randomly yelled. "Clearly not..." P.U.P said backing away. "Scrappy, you know what this means...right?" Tiny asked. "Yeah.... that you guys are IGNORANT AND RUDE! I WANT BACON CASSEROLE NOW!" Scrappy yelled. Tiny gasped at Scrappy's language, but she eventually shook it off and ignored her. "No! It means your getting closer to having your puppies!" Tiny barked. "Oh." Scrappy understood. "Yeah that makes aloooooooot of more sense..." Scrappy added. "Like if-DUH!" Rosie yelled as the pups walked in. Tiny shot a stern look at the pups. "Guys....what did we tell you about eavesdropping...." Tiny said angrily. "Ugh! To stay in a pups place and mind your business." The pups groaned in unison. "Exactly! So, what are you doing in here, then?" Tiny asked upset. "Well, a princess needs her beauty sleep but thanks to Scrappy here, and her yelling about bacon casserole, we couldn't sleep." Rosie said sassily. Scrappy felt targeted. Scrappy shot a tired but angry look towards Rosie. "On s-second thought maybe I should stop talking..." "Uh huh." Scrappy said, giving Rosie a squinted eye. Rosie backed behind her brother. "Anyways...what are our plans today?" Brody asked. "Well first we have and 1 week until Scrappy has both pups so probably relax for today." Tiny exclaimed. "Aw...okay." Brody pouted. "WAIT! YOU KNOW HOW MANY PUPS SHE'S HAVING?" Rosie asked dramatically. "Yes. She's having two, and their both girls, too." Tiny said. "EEEP!" Rosie squealed. "Ugh, great. Now I have two other pups to ruin the fun!" Brody complained. "Ah, you'll be fine." Tiny joked. Brody chortled, "Haha very funny mom." "BACON CASSEROLEEEEEEEEE." Scrappy spammed with words. "Oh my dog- IDA! WILL YOU MAKE SCRAPS SOME BACON CASSEROLE!" P.U.P barked agitatedly. Ida sighed. "ON IT!"

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!

Born from the void, a being is finally given the greatest gift possible: Life. Shunned due to it's past, hated because of it's powers and it's loved ones in peril, how far will this being go in order to continue living happily? Embracing it's nature, carrying slaughters and unspeakable horrors, these are mere trivialities for the being. After all, it's not known as the Slaughterer for nothing. [In case you don't know, this is a redo of Starvation March. The synopsis is kinda shit, but still. I tried.]
