I walked into my office, I read the file of some my patient.

I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." I say without looking up.

"Aurora." The most familiar voice ever stunned me and my eyes widened looking up.

It's him.

"Carter? I haven't seen in forever!" I got up and hugged him.

"Where have you been?" I say.

"I-I met someone. I-I'm getting married."

Oh that hurts my heart.

"Oh wow...um congratulations! I'm so happy for you." I let go of him.

"I wanted to tell you before you found out from someone else. I even got you an invitation to the engagement party. You could bring Levi and the girls." He smiles at me.

I nod.

"W-wow Thank you Carter. Is the girl at least prettier than me?" I chuckle.

"Nonsense, no one can be more beautiful than you. But then again only one can have you and it took me time to learn that. Then I met Kourtney and she made me see things in a different way. However, you do know that you're always going to be my first love and you're always gonna have a part of my heart. Right?"

"Oh yeah, right."

"So you're come to the party. It's tonight, I'm sorry I came so last minute."

"No no no it's fine. I'll bring the girls. They'll be happy to see you."

He gave one last hug and a kiss on my cheek which lingered for way too long.

The love of my life is getting married to another.

Now I know what he felt.
