Fizzledbomb Hospital
7 : 35 pm
- - - - -
It wasn't long until I reached the hospital. I hurried into the nurse's counter. She told me that Saturn's room was on the fifth floor, 504. Once I've thanked her and left her a weak grin, I rushed to the elevator.
I was accompanied with an old man as the tiny room went up. The plaid vest and brown slacks he was wearing reminded me of Mr. Fredricksen from Up.
He looked at me with his grey eyes glistening under his glasses and said, "Are you visiting someone?"
I replied.
"She's a girl, huh?" He teased, seeing the bouquet of flowers and box of chocolate I was holding.
I teased back whilst the both of us chuckling.
"Count me in if you're visiting Karen," He winked at me playfully. I was dumbfounded if he actually meant something or he was just joking again.
I just smiled politely and went along with it,
Soon enough, the elevator stopped at the fourth floor. It was his destination.
Before he left, he managed to utter something, "Your love for Karen will last forever. But sometimes, some love will end earlier than you thought it would be. So you gotta make the best of it, boyo!"
I said, weirded out at his comment before his departure, still not knowing who Karen is.
Next stop, the fifth floor. I felt my hand somehow vulnerable while carrying the gifts I had in store for dearest Grasshopper.
Ihastily knocked at the door with Shirley opening it.
"Come in," she welcomed with a soft smile on her lips.
I told her, with a snicker ending it.
Although, her cherry lips twitched into a frown, "Thank you for your effort but, she's allergic to nuts and tulips."

"I guess you don't really know her that much, huh?"
"You fell for her."
"It's just sad to see Saturn dying."
My chocolate brown irises averted from Shirley and shifted to see a concurrently sleeping Saturn. Her eyes that resembled the morning sky was opening gently.
"Look! She's waking up," Shirley said in delight.
I questioned her, beginning to brush off some virtual dust of my jeans and running a hand up my brunette hair. I never thought this is going to happen.
I'm finally going to meet her.
Shirley, on the other hand, giggled at my worried face, "You look just fine, Jackson. Besides, you started a friendship with my sister without the need of seeing each other face-to-face. For you fuckers, it was enough."
I snorted at her retortyet the nervousness I was continuously sensing in my guts wasn't leaving.
"The two of you should sort out some things. I'm just going to talk to the doctor outside."
I complained with a scowl plastered on my lips.
"Oh, you know I have to," Shirley leaves, winking at my troubled self.
Then, I saw Saturn slowly arousing from her sleep. Her ginger hair magnificently shining. She turned her body at me, her marvelously blue irises widened in shock seeing me.
I greeted, excited and cheerful as ever while sitting on a plastic chair next to her mattress.
"Wha-what? Jackass?! Is that you?" She questioned, blinking her eyes repeatedly in utter confusion.
I beamed at her pale features.
"Why are you here?" she questioned again.
"Oh my God. Does it have peanuts? And are those flowers... tulips?"
"You never should've gone through all those ruckus."
I said, the grin on my features not fading. I grabbed her cold palms and held it tightly with my warm ones.

"You shouldn't have wasted your time on a dying girl," she tried to change my perspective at what is happening. But we both knew that it wasn't helping at all.
"How can you still be so kind to me?"
"..."
"How can you love me in such a short amount of time?"
"Hmm..." she hummed in deep thought, analyzing and processing what I have mentioned. "I need to share something to you."
now, I was the one who's puzzled at her sudden change of mood.
"You may want to come near me," she let out a playful smirk from her pale pink lips which made me do the opposite.
Our fingers that was ceaselessly intertwined was tightened by her.I hoisted up from my seat and went along to sat next to where she lay.
The ailing girl arised at a slow pace, struggling to get up. I helped her and once she was sat, she leaned forward only to peck gently at my rosy cheek. With that one little but lovely gesture, Iwas left stunned at what she did.
"I love you too, Jackass," She breathed out, forming the most beautiful and sweetest smile I have ever seen. "And if you're Pikachu, then I also choose you."
She managed to rest her head on my broad shoulders whilst I rested my head to hers. I extended my arms to embrace her lanky body and luckily for me, she didn't repine with what I have done.
I gazed into her ocean-like blue irises as she was examining my chocolate brown ones.
"And you don't know how much I'm feeling the same damned thing," she giggled and I smiled at the beauty of her simplicity. It's quite funny how at that moment, we never really cared if someone was out there watching us.
With that, everything felt fine. I was there with her and nothing can tear us and our love apart.
