(Media : jasper and Novalee México honeymoon house )
Two familiar scents hit Novalee's nose when the married couple reach home. Novalee flashes inside and hugs Renesme, ignoring the tension.
"Mom, mom, let her go," Marcus says.
"Why?" Nova asks as she pulls away and looks at her son. "What's with all the worry?"
"Close your eyes," Marcus says. "And Listen."
Nova listens and closes her eyes, she hears Jacob, Nessie, and Marcus's heartbeats plus one. "Jacob," Novalee says slowly as she looks up, her eyes darkening, "Why do I hear four heartbeats?"
Jacob scratches the back of his head. "Ness... She's pregnant."
"The Volturi will kill us all," Novalee growls. "I can't stop this fight."
"But,.."
"Mom's right," Marcus says from beside Rosalie, who stuck around as Preston took the kids back to Beijing. "They'll want the baby and will kill everyone to get it. A human/vampire/wolf tribrid. It's the first one ever, and Aro will not take no for an answer."
"And I'm sure he has spies around," Novalee says. "Watching Nessie and Marcus's growth and making sure they don't kill people. This news will report back to them."
"Hopefully not soon," Jacob growls.
Novalee just sighs and she goes up to her room. Marcus sighs and he jogs upstairs after his mom, and he lays in bed with her.
"It's gonna be ok, mom," Marcus says. "Even if they do come, you knownthe kings will kill anyone who goes coma after us. We're their family."
Novalee looks at her wedding ring and sighs. "They'd kill Jasper... I just got him."
Marcus grabs his mom's hand.
~~~
Novalee is running in the woods, looking for the perfect animal to feast on when she runs into a crimson eyed vampire with white hair. He stands a little taller that she does, and it's pretty built.
"I am Ricardo, I work for Aro?" He says, questioningly.
"Fysiká to káneis," Novalee mutters inbgreek. "There is nothing for you here in Forks, Ricardo. So report back tot he kings and say the Cullens are behaving."
Ricardo smirks. "I don't think so, Princess. Caius says you're off limits..." he pauses. "But Aro has suspicions. And as both you and I know, his suspicions are always right."
"Whatnis going on?" Aludra asks as she comes out, making Ricardo tense. "Who are you?"
"This is Ricardo, mother," Novalee says. "He is ankign for the Volturi kings."
Aludra studies hum and scoffs. "You can leave, peasant. There is nothing for you here." Aludra's accept is heavy, but if one listens close enough, they can understand her.
Ricardo looks between the two. "I'm not going anywhere, ladies, better get used to bumping into me. I will find something to prove Aro's suspicions, and then, only then, will I leave. But only to go straight to the kings."
"Good luck, Ricardo," Novalee says before her mom drapes an arm around her shoulder.
"Darling," Aludra says as the pair walk toward the house. "How would you, Marcus, Emma, and Jasper like to travel abroad?"
"Where?" Novalee asks as they reach the backyard.
"Athens," Aludra replies. "You have not been to Achilles's grave yet. Marcus is my grandson, and Emma my granddaughter. Jasper is my son-in-law. And you, you are my little angel. Please?"
Novalee looks at her family on the balcony, who are all nodding. "We'll go. When do we leave?"
"I was hoping tonight," Aludra replies. "Be in Athens by nightfall their time."
Jasper brings Emma to get packed, because she's been staying in La Push in her new home - where she lived st with Cheryl. When Emma turned eighteen, she moved their on her own. Marcus heads up to his room, and he begins to pack himself.
"We hace to pack, mom," Novalee says.
"Nova!" Carlisle yells. "It's Rosalie!"
Novalee rushes inside where she finds Emmett carefully laying Rosalie down. By the way her body's jerking and her screams of agony, she's got venom inside of her. Novalee rushes over and she closes her eyes, and listens to the inside.
"I can't suck the venom out," Nova says. "Who found her?"
"I did," Emmett replies.
"You found her too late," Novalee states gently, and then Rosalie's heart stops and she dies. "The venom reached her heart. She will wake up as a vampire. Mother," Novalee looks at the Greek vampire, "we have to leave for Athens when Rosalie wakes up."
"Of course, darling," Aludra replies. "Anything for your friend."
