Vikranth Yanked Meera's hand and twirled her to face him.
She looked at him surprisingly. After looking her eyes for a second, Vikranth didn't waste a single moment and hugged her how much as tight as he could. Meera doesn't know what's happening, she froze for a minute and came back to reality.
She tried to push Vikranth using her full strength but nothing worked out. "Leave me... please... I can't breathe," she struggled to say that.
Vikranth loosened his grip on her, but not fully.
"You are asking the questions that I wanted to ask, why you're doing this to me Meera. What I did wrong?" Vikranth asked her and pulled out of the hug.
"Do you think that I am married you because of guilt or pity. Are you thinking I am a kind of person who pities for others. Maybe I had guilt of doing that to you. But... can't you understand my heart Meera??" he asked her in a defeated tone.
"I never can understand you, because you never acted the way I want you to be. You always destroyed the hope you created in me" Meera said and her eyes welled with tears.
Vikranth became silent after hearing this. "OK, answer this question honestly?" she asked him controlling her tears.
"What is the reason you married me Vikranth? You came out of nowhere, you tortured and compelled me to marry you. What is the reason? What you get from this?" Meera cried while asking this.
"Meera stop crying!" he gritted and looked away.
"Why I have to stop, do you know how much I am crying these days because of you. I can't even sleep. I am feeling like why I married you" she said and cried her heart out by covering her face with her palms.
Vikranth didn't expect this from Meera. He hugged her gently and caressed her back.
"I am sorry for whatever the things I did, please calm down", he said soothingly in her ears.
She never heard his calm voice before and she felt comfort in this hug. She stopped crying and felt really embarrassed for breaking down in front of him but this is what happens every time. She pulled out from the hug and looked down.
"Meera come and sit here" he made her sit on the nearby couch.
He kneeled down in front of her because it is easier for him to look at her eyes and talk.
"The reason why I married you is?" he paused for a moment and gripped her hand.

hearing those words from his made Meera's eyes to grow wider.
"I am truly in love with you. For all these three years I have been thinking only you," Vikranth said looking her eyes.
Meera is astonished to hear his confession. She didn't expect him to say this.
"It must be hard for you to believe me. But this is what true. Please don't think that I am married you just for the guilt. You're my first and last love just like how I am to you," hearing that Meera started to cry again.
It is hurting her to hear that he's in love with her. If he said this three years before then it would be completely different now.
"Don't cry Meera, please. I can understand how much I am hurting you. But I don't have any other option than confessing this to you" Vikranth said moving closer to her.
"Why Vikranth, why you're confessing this now? Are you again playing with me?" Meera asked and her tears brimmed from her eyes.
"No no Meera I am not playing with you and I am not deceiving you. I am sincerely saying Meera. Trust me" he said. But Meera's mind unable to trust him.
"But I don't want you to accept my love, it's not a compulsion. I am just saying this to avoid this misunderstanding" he said and his eyes were begging her to believe him.
She took away her hands. She doesn't know whether to believe him or not. But she doesn't want to give him a chance to occupy her heart again. Vikranth stood up and walked near the window.
After a big silence,
"You don't know what happened after our breakup. You unknowingly damaged my life in the name of love. And I am dying each second thinking about the past. I don't think I will forget everything and live normally with you. So again I am saying, reconsider your idea of living with me", she said and stood up to leave.
"I too telling the same, reconsider your attitude about this marriage. Why you're thinking that we won't live happily", Vikranth said.
Hearing that Meera didn't say anything and walked without looking back. She doesn't want to argue with him.
Let's see Meera how long you can avoid me and live in this guilt, Vikranth thought and smiled. He felt somewhat relieved that he confessed his love. These are the things that his heart wanted to say for all these three years. His love is very deep that he himself can't explain why he's this crazy about her.

He felt so hard to keep his love in his heart for so long. He figured out that he's in love with Meera recently. But what made him restless is, he regretted finding this too late. He had only Meera in his heart but he can't accept that he's in love with her because of his attitude over love and marriage.
But when he came to know the reason why his mind is always thinking about Meera, at least once a day. Why his heart is always saying Meera's name. Why his eyes wanted to see her face, one last time. Why his hand wanted to hold her hand. That moment he realized that he's in love with her truly... Madly... and deeply.
The untold love will really hurt people than anything? Vikranth got that pain for all these years... he repented for letting Meera suffer all alone. For not staying with her when she needed him.
He doesn't want to confess his love now, but while seeing Meera's tears he doesn't have another option than confessing his uncontrollable love on her. And now he's having unknown confidence that soon Meera will accept his love.
Meera sat on the bed with a thud. A small drop of tear brimmed from her eyes. She's still in the shock. Vikranth said the things that she didn't expect, especially now.
Love? Is he loving me? What a great lie it is!!
Or is he really telling the truth, she asked herself? But soon she nodded her head in confusion and laid on the bed.
No matter what lies you tell, I will never ever accept you in my heart. Because there's no strength left in me to endure another heartbreak, she thought and blankly looked at the ceiling.
Today, she had a tough time in the work. She felt so irritated because of Arun, he's torturing her to tell who she married or is she really married. Two days before Arun confessed that he's in love with her. He's very shocked to know that Meera is married and he can't accept that. Today she can't control her temper and shouted at him before everyone.
She doesn't know how she can face everyone tomorrow. After having so many thoughts about her life. Meera felt so hungry.
She slowly got up from the bed and went to the closet to pick a salwar to wear. She refreshed herself and walked out while crossing Vikranth's room she didn't look at that side and went down. The house remained silent and when she walked into the kitchen, Vikranth was standing and stirring something in the pan.
'Ama', Meera said in a shock for seeing six foot ghost, Vikranth, she didn't expect him at this moment.
"I am sorry, am I scared you", he asked in an apologetic tone.
"It's ok", she said and came near him.
"I am preparing instant noodles, for us," he said stirring the noodles.
Meera didn't say anything and stood beside him. After preparing Vikranth took the pan and went to the dining table.
They seated uncomfortably. After filling his plate Vikranth pushed the pan to Meera. They had their dinner in an awkward silence.
Vikranth stood up after eating and went to the kitchen to wash his plate. Meera too went in, Vikranth gave a space for her to clean her plate.
"Thanks for the food" Meera said to him placing the plate on the shelf.
Before Vikranth can tell anything, she walked out of the kitchen. He smiled lightly and felt happy that today they had their dinner together.
Meera can't sleep that night. She keep on thinking about today's events like her fight with Arun and Vikranth confession made her sleepless.
Suddenly a huge thunderstorm made Meera jerk. She got up and went beside the window, the sky looked very cloudy with no stars. She thought it's going to rain... but within a few minutes, the rain started to pour.
She always likes to see the midnight rain than the day rain. Because midnight has some beauty, the pattering sound of rain erases the external sound of this world and the lonely silence in her life.
This midnight rain is for people with a broken heart and wounded soul. Meera had several sleepless rainy nights. She always longed for someone to erase her loneliness when she can't sleep, that time the sound of this pattering rain assured that she's not alone. She cried she smiled, she felt happy, sad, worried during those rainy nights. But on the whole, she likes to see the stormy sky, wet roads, and buildings and to hear the thundering sound.
Meera leaned on the window and felt the fresh drizzle on her face. She smiled and at the same time, she had tears in her eyes. She doesn't know what is true, whether Vikranth is really good? Is he really meaning those words that he said? She thought and closed her eyes forgetting her questions and also the pain.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
