《Vampire Midas AU》3 - One Night Stand

It had been roughly an hour since Jones went looking for his missing boyfriend. He'd been through Sweaty Sands, Holly Hedges and Weeping Woods. As much as he didn't want to believe it, he was starting to loose hope.
That, and he was exhausted. Who could blame him? It was 1 in the morning.
"Man...he could be anywhere." He sighs.
"Maybe..."
*yawn*
"Maybe he came home and went to bed...but forgot to tell me through my phone?"
He thinks to himself as he passes the log cabins.
"Or... he's realized I went looking for him and now he looking for me?"
Jones sighs sadly, hugging his arms. He just wanted to know if he was okay. He couldn't bare the thought of loosing another lover so quickly.
Not after loosing her...
As Jones exits the woods and make his way to the bridge leading to Boney Burbs, he hears something. It sounded like someone in distress.
"Huh?"
He picks up the pace, running onto the bridge. The voice start becoming more audible and clear.
"Please, let me go!"
"Relax dear. I'll make this as painful as possible~"
Jones rounds a corner and peaks around it. A woman, who's identity was unknown to him, was entangled by another person's arm. They were wearing gloves on their hands and a hoodie with the hood covering their face, making it impossible to identify them.
"That must be the one going around killing people!"
"I-I don't like the sound of that."
"I'm sorry~ But it has to be this way. I'll wager the blood circulating in your body tastes...mmm, divine~"
They lean closer to her, moaning near their neck as that word leaves their mouth.
"No... please...I don't want to die..."
"Relax doll~ I'll make sure you're last living moments are... deliciously wonderful~"
Despite growing increasingly uncomfortable, Jones happens to notice the sharp fangs in their mouth. He puts it all together;
"I knew it! A vampire really IS on the island!! Maybe I brought a vampire through the portal on accident and didn't realize!"
They lean against her, sink their fangs deep into her neck and hum in satisfaction.
"Mmm... just as I thought. Divine~."
She tries to scream but a hand comes over her mouth, silencing her. Her feet give way as she slides onto the ground, but the vampire doesn't let go. They keep a tight hold on her, continuing to drink her blood.
Jones was disgusted, but he couldn't do anything but watch. Sweat drips down his forehead as the women's struggling stops, her hand landing on the pavement with a thud. The vampire eventually lets go, seemingly finished with her, and wipes their mouth.
"I gotta get out of here-"
Jones goes to move, but mistimes his footing and knocks over a barrel near his foot.
"FUCK."
The vampire cocks its head up looking in Jonesy's direction, it's glowing red iris staring at him.
"What have we here?~" They purr, biting their lip. "Another meal sent straight to me?"
Jones attempts to run away. The vampire chuckles, disappearing and reappearing in front of him. He turns in the other direction, and it's there in front of him again. They force Jones into the wall, grinning widely at him.
The blond can think of nothing to do but plead helplessly for his life.
"Please, d-don't kill me. I don't taste good!"
The vampire's grins falters slightly, seemingly rethinking it's actions on him. Jones puts his arms out in front of him, notably shedding tears of fear. He was shaking, terrified that he was about to die.

"Hmm."
They put Jones down, humming slightly.
"H-Huh? W-What are you.."
"You're lucky I'm not feeling too hungry anymore." They growl. "I'll let you go this once. Next time, I won't be so kind~"
With a deep chuckle and click of their fingers they disappear from sight. Jones was left there to process what on earth just happened. However, he decides to not ponder on it now and head home.
Why the vampire spared Jones was beyond him. All he knew was he wanted to go home and hopefully be greeted by Midas. Cos right now, he could do with his smile and a hug.
....
Meanwhile, back in Pleasant Park, the vampire ends up teleporting outside the back of a house. Removing the hood off their head, it's revealed to be Midas underneath. His hair was an absolute mess and he had blood over his mouth and staining his white tuxedo shirt and black vest.
He falls on his knees, tears brimming in his eyes.
"G-God... Jones... I'm sorry..."
Covering his mouth he lets the tears flow down his cheeks.
"He watched the whole thing... and I nearly could've killed him had I not snapped out of it thanks to my hunger being satisfied."
Midas covers his face, sobbing quietly into his hands. He was so thankful the hoodie, plus the gloves he was wearing, made him unrecognisable to Jones.
"I'm so sorry Jonesy...I didn't mean to frighten you..."
Heading into the house he slips off the hoodie and tosses it into the washing machine as well as the gloves. Entering the downstairs bathroom, he felt sick to his stomach as he washes his face. The way Jones shivered in his presence. He'd never seen him so... scared before.
If only I wasn't full, I could've had him for dessert.
"Ugh! No. Stop thinking about him like that Midas! He's not a blood bag, he's a...human being with...emotions."
That's when he remembered;
He himself technically wasn't a human anymore. He looked like one, but deep inside he was something else. A man cursed with immortality, feasting on the blood of helpless humans.
Midas sighs, leaving the bathroom and gazing outside the window.
"Please...let me wake up from this nightmare..."
-----------
30 minutes later...
Seeing as he didn't require sleep anymore, Midas resorts to endlessly scrolling through the TV channels, trying to find something of interest that wasn't the shopping channels drivelling on and on about the same products over and over.
His vest and shirt were in the washing machine along with the hoodie and gloves. So for now he was wearing nothing but trousers and black socks, leaving his top half with nothing except all his black inked tattoos on display.
His hair was somewhat neater than it was before, but it was still slightly messy.
"As usual, nothing on TV as always. Maybe Netflix has something to indulge me with?"
*knock knock*
Midas jumps, startled by the knock on the door. Putting the remote on the couch he goes to answer, and his heart drops;
It was Jones, looking very distressed and upset.
He hangs up his coat and closes the door.
"Jones, are you alright-"
With no warning, the blond embraces Midas with a hug that knocks both of them to the ground.
"Where the bloody hell have you been?!"
"Jones keep it down! Jules is in bed!" Midas shushes him with a whisper-shout.
"Do you have any idea how long I was looking for you?" Jones sniffles, tears rolling down his face. "I thought you were dead! Thought that vampire I saw earlier got you..."

A pit of guilt begins to form in Midas' stomach yet again, but he manages to keep it somewhat hidden.
"Wait. You saw the killer? They're actually a vampire?"
"Mhm. They cornered me, a-and I thought this was the end...but they let me go. I... didn't know why..."
"Could you... identify who they were?"
"No. They were wearing a hoodie with the hood covering their face. I couldn't tell who they were."
Midas' throat tightens, hugging Jones back even tighter.
"Midas? Are you... crying?"
"I'm just... relieved you're okay..."
Jones smiles sadly, tightening his grip too.
"Same here man. Same here..."
Relieved they were together again, the two of them lock lips. Midas hums softly, brushing his hand through Jones' golden locks while he places his hands on Midas' chest where the GHOST logo is tattooed.
Parting slightly, Midas gazes up at Jones and then looks around.
"Maybe the living room isn't the right place..."
"Hm? What are you implying?"
"I'm saying... maybe we should take this into a different room."
It takes Jones a moment to process what Midas was talking about. He goes a bright red, a small smirk on his face.
"You sly fox Midas."
------------------
------------------
The two of them head upstairs into the room they were sharing together. Midas sits down on the bed, gazing lovingly at Jones.
"Question. Have you ever done this before?" The blond asks.
"Not really."
"Well in that case, we'll take it slow... you'll eventually get the flow and... well..."
He pauses.
"We'll see where it leads us."
Jones slowly begins undoing the buttons on his shirt, sliding it off his shoulders while eyeing Midas with a goofy looking smile. Even in a situation like this he still retained his silly laid back mentality. Midas' cheeks turn a bright pink as he lays eyes on his surprisingly buff appearance.
"Holy shit his abs."
Jones leans against him, one hand near the belt holding his trousers in place and the other placed softly on the back of his neck. In response, Midas leans back slightly, wrapping his right arm around Jones' neck and forces his lips against his own.
"Say...where did those abs come from?" Midas breathes, parting the kiss so his lover could answer.
"Not what you were expecting huh?" He chuckles. "I occasionally used to work out twice a week at the gym before my ass got dragged into I.O."
"It's a shame. They made you look so weak and fragile in that work attire." Midas hums deeply, kissing him softly. "But it's clear that your body was too...mmm, what's the right word? Attractive? Sexy? They knew that people like me wouldn't be able to resist your looks."
Jones groans, embracing the flirty compliments coming his way. He removes his lips off of Midas', only to respond with;
"Mmm, you talk too much golden boy."
And quickly lean back in, deepening the kiss, almost leaning on top of Midas.
The mastermind shuffles back, reaching the top of the bed, letting the blond clamber on and continue the passionate kiss. At this point Jones was now directly on top of him, lying on his front. Midas moans, sweat dripping down his forehead.
Treading carefully he wraps his thin legs around Jones' waist so that he was sitting directly in between his thighs. They briefly part lips, catching their breath.
"Tell me, Agent John 'Jonesy' Jones. What is it you find the most attractive about me?" He questions, caressing his hands over the blond's abs and breathing heavily.
"Is it my hair?"
"My voice?"
"The tattoos strewn across my arms and chest?"
"Or maybe..."
Midas pushes him back, so now HE was the one leaning on top of Jones.
"Something else made you fall for a power hungry man with a deadly golden touch?"
Jones grunts, his hands sliding down the man's arms, plus sweat also beginning to form on his brow. He gives Midas a smirk.
"It's hard to say. There's- A-Ahh~"
The blond moans softly as Midas slides a cold hand over his chest, making the hairs on his arms stand up out of the small shock.
"Hmm? Go on my dear."
"There's...so much about you that I like. It wouldn't surprise me if a LOT of people on the island were attracted to you and your good looks."
"Believe me John I've had my fair share of fans, men and women, all wanting me for themselves." He mutters. "But alas, I had to turn them down with rejection."
"How come?"
Midas hums deeply, taking his chin and pulling him close.
"Isn't it obvious darling? You're the only one for me."
A lustful smirk creeps onto his face.
"Now, what is it you find most attractive about me?"
While he awaits his answer, Midas reaches for the belt on Jones' trousers and begins undoing it.
"I don't know. I've never known a man to have multiple tattoos on their body, but it only makes you more sexy."
"Mhm? What else?"
Before he can respond again another groan leaves Jones' mouth as he feels Midas slowly slip off his trousers, leaving him in nothing but his pants.
"I-I~ A-Ahh~"
He struggles to form a sentence, but Midas places a golden finger on his lips, calming him a little.
"Shhh...go on. Tell me~."
"Oh god, I have to say your voice. I've never heard such a deep voice. Anytime I hear it...I dunno, I get the shivers man! You have the voice of a leader, you know what you're doing in any situation thrown your way."
He pauses, breathing heavily.
"You're a man who knows what he wants. And will do anything to get it, no matter who or what stands in the way."
Midas smirks, pushing himself further against Jones. A groan escapes from him as the mastermind leans against him.
"How right you are John Jones~."
Jones continues to compliment Midas' thin but impressive figure. Going on about how amazing he is, the way he dresses, his silky smooth locks of hair. His heart beats, and he can't help but let another moan slip out his mouth.
"Fuck Jones, the things you do to me. It's exhilarating~." He grunts as Jones sits up. "You continue to surprise me."
Their lips crash together again. The kisses were starting to become more hungry and desperate. On the inside Midas was questioning how things escalated this quickly.
Was it just natural? Or was it the lustful nature of his vampirism seeping through without the bloodthirsty instinct?
Whichever it was, he didn't care. He was enjoying himself and Jones seemed to be as well. So if he's okay with it, he was too.
"Now, my turn."
The blond pushes Midas back down, leaning on top of him again.
"What's so special about me Midas?" Jones asks, doing the exact same thing Midas did to him and reaching for the belt holding his trousers in place.
"Mmph. Well I'm not sure why, but the colour of your hair... it's like a river of gold up there. The way it flows in the wind." He smirks. "The headband you keep around it completes the look."
Midas gasps slightly, seeing his trousers be tossed aside. Jones' strong figure was sending his lustful intentions into overdrive. He couldn't control his urges. He couldn't stop letting out those moans of pleasure.
"Your figure, those abs. I...mmm...aaah~"
"Yeah?"
He doesn't respond, looking at Jones with a lidded lustful gaze.
"I-I...aaahh~ AHH~"
"C'mon M. Let it out~."
Midas briefly manages to get ahold of himself, thought still struggling to contain himself.
"My god Jones. I can't even begin to describe just how fucking hot you are~." Midas groans, kissing him deeply. "I can see why that Janice married you in the first place."
Sweat is clear all over Jones. It was getting so heated that anymore flirty remarks would probably break him.
And that's just what Midas intended to achieve.
"M-Midas... I-I can't....aah~"
"Come on. You can do it."
Both men's breathing begins to get faster and more heavy. Midas pulls Jones close and gives him another hungry desperate kiss, seeing if that would do it, his tongue slipping inside the blond's mouth. It doesn't, but it does make him moan softly, rolling his head back and gripping onto his shoulders.
"I...I think we're getting...c-close..." He breathes, both their bodies sweating profusely. "But... I-I don't know if I can..."
Moans were audible from the two of them, both clearly getting very tired. This was it. One of them had to make a move!
Midas smirks lustfully, seeing Jonesy's pained and sweaty expression. Leaning against him he mutters into his ear, knowing his irresistible voice would instantly destroy him.
"Come on Jonesy~." He growls. "You've got this.~"
It was working. His heart rate was spiking, so was Jones'. One more would do the trick.
With one last lustful kiss, his tongue slipping inside Jones' again, but being careful that the blond's didn't get through to his own, he whispers into his ear;
"Go on. Do it~." He growls again. "Say my name~."
Jones shivers rapidly, Midas' deep sultry voice driving him over the edge. With the breath he had left, he loudly moans out Midas' name as per his command.
Then, there was silence.
---------------------
---------------------
The silence goes on for what felt like hours, although it was only five minutes, until one of them speaks up.
"That...that was incredible..." Midas says with a whisper.
"Huh... not bad for your first time..." Jones chuckles, having recovered from the activities they went through. "But we should probably clean these sheets and get dressed."
"Very well. You can go get dressed while I take these downstairs."
Midas picks up the bedsheets and heads downstairs. Luckily for him the washing machine had just finished, meaning he could put the bedsheets in immediately and dry everything else in the tumble dryer.
Upon pulling out the hoodie, Midas is dragged back to reality. Despite everything that just happened, it wouldn't change the fact that he was a creature of the night. A bloodsucking vampire.
"I may not be human anymore...but being around Jones makes me feel like one again..."
And after all that, the two of them fall asleep downstairs in front of the TV wrapped up in a blanket and each others arms.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
