《More Than What He Seems - A Fortnite Story No.1》Chapter 13 - Skye's History With Midas

Meanwhile, Skye and Sophie have both arrived at the Shark, Skye's old base of operation...or what's left of it at least.
"Jeez, this place has seen better days." Sophie mutters, hoping off the boat with her friend.
"It sure has. The Shark's been wrecked to pieces of rubble." She sighs sadly. "At least I can finally show you my old base!"
"Wait, you used to work here?" Sophie exclaims, surprised.
"What? You thought bossman kept us all cooped up in the Agency every day?" Skye grins, taking her hand.
"Well, I kinda thought he did."
"Nope. I'll explain."
Skye guides her young friend through the Sharky shell, looking for the missing files from Midas' file cabinet.
"Back when I was first employed by M, he mentioned how we weren't always going to be in the Agency 24/7. Instead he gave each agent a base of operation:
I got the Shark, as you've just found out.
Brutus was given an underground base named The Grotto.
TnTina got the oil rig that, from what I can tell, was washed away in the flood.
And Meowscles, being his body guard, was given Midas' Yacht, called the Marigold."
"Midas has a yacht?! That's so cool!! I wish I could have been there." Sophie giggles, bouncing around with the thought.
"Didn't I show it to you once on a day off?" Skye asks, looking through a draw.
"Well, yes. But I wonder what it's like inside! I bet it's very pretty with a lot of golden things on it." She smiles, images forming in her mind of what she thinks Midas' Yacht looked like.
"Well, I'll say this. There was a statue of M in the centre of the Yacht, like the one in his office, just much bigger."

Meanwhile...
Back at the Authority, Chaos Agent paces around his office. The henchmen have continued to train and prepare for the morning assult against Midas and his E.G.O friend. All he needed to know now was Midas' current location.
"Boss, we have good news." A voice from behind him announces.
"Ah, Brutus and TnTina. I trust your mission was successful, yes?" Chaos Agent asks, putting his hands behind him.
"Yeah, we managed to locate Midas and his little friend." Tina groans, folding her arms.
"Excellent job you two, so, where are they?"
Brutus presses a button on the table, booting up a digital version of the island. He places a marker over the Fortilla.
"Right here, to the south east of the Authority." He points as information on the Fortilla pop up.
"Apparently, to us, it seems like Midas, the adventurer Skye and the kid were on the run after they escaped here with Jules and ended up here." Tina adds, opening up images they took of the place.
"Well, no matter how many times that Midas defeats me or runs away, he won't be able to escape my grasp forever." Chaos Agent's voice growls as he sends all the information contained to the henchmen down below. "Eventually, he too will see why Shadow will forever tower over Ghost."
He turns to Tina and Brutus once again.
"And you two will be in charge of leading this assult. Show him what happens when he abandons his agents when they need him most."
"We were never his agents. Our allegiances lie with you Chaos Agent." They tell him.

Back at the Shark...
"Ooh, Skye! I found something!" Sophie calls her over, pulling out a few files, filled to the brim with paperwork.

"Eyy, great job Sophie! You found them!" Skye grins, ruffling her hair.
"Midas will be very happy with me won't he?" She smiles, a smug look on her face.
Skye then notices something else in the draw:
It looks a lot like a photo book.
"Oh I wondered where this went!" She exclaims happily, taking it out.
She opens it up reveals a ton of pictures from the past taken by Skye. Only two of them feature Midas in them though, the second one with him not too pleased with Skye taking pictures.
"Those 2 with Midas are from when I first started working at the Agency. He wasn't too keen on me taking pictures with him in it, but eventually allowed me to take them with other agents and henchmen." She summaries to Sophie.
"Oh, I guess that makes sense. He likes to keep himself secret, I mean, he never tells anyone anything...does he?" I sigh.
"That's correct." Skye's earpiece suddenly beeps, receiving a call. "Yes M?"
"Agent Skye, if you're both finished with the mission, I am requesting the presence of all Ghost agents for an important meeting. Please report to command." Midas' voice can be heard.
"Sounds like something serious." Sophie mutters.
"Yep. C'mon, let's go." Skye passes her 2 of the files, while she takes her photo book and 1 other file.
As Sophie follows her, she sneaks a peek at one of the folders and find something strange within it:
An old book with Midas' name on it, decorated in touches of gold.
It doesn't take her long to figure out what it might be.
"Is this his diary? And if so, why was it stuffed inside this folder?"
