By the time Skye and Sophie have returned to the Fortilla for Midas' meeting, it was almost time.
"Faster buddy! We can't be late." Skye panics, taking Sophie's hand. Thankfully, they knock on Midas' office door with 5 minutes to spare.
"Come in." His voice tells them, the door opening by itself. It reveals Midas scrolling through his computer, wearing his glasses at the same time.
"Not gonna lie, Midas looks cool with glasses." Sophie thinks to herself, smiling a little.
"Hey bossman, we got what you needed! It actually wasn't that hard either." Skye says as she passes the files over to her boss.
"Well, I didn't want to send your friend on a mission too complicated now did I?" He sighs, putting the folders away in a draw with a Shark label on it.
"The meeting is just across the hall. Everyone else is in there already so you can both make yourselves comfortable." Midas adds, turning back to them.
"You got it bossman."
Skye turns to leave, as does Midas.
"Wait Midas! Can I talk to you for a second?" Sophie requests.
"Sorry kid, not the best time. Perhaps after the meeting, we'll have time to chat." He answers.
"But!-"
Midas turns to her with a stern expression, his golden eye glowing brightly.
"I won't ask again."
Shivering slightly, Sophie admits defeat and nods.
"O-Ok Midas. Meeting first...t-then we can talk..."
He sees her glum expression and kneels down to her level.
"Come along now don't look so down. I'll try to make this meeting quick, but I'm not sure if that will be doable." He tells her, putting a golden hand on her shoulder.
"Ok Midas. I trust you." She responds.
"Good girl, now run along now. I'll be there in a moment." He calls after her, the door closing once more. Sophie sighs, running off to the meeting room unaware that she was still holding what she thinks is Midas' diary.

A few minutes pass by as everyone takes their place at the table. Sophie near Midas' currently empty chair, Skye on her right hand side and Ocean opposite her. Jules is present as well, although she's only standing in-between Midas' chair and Sophie.
"So, shouldn't Midas be here by now?" Sophie whispers to Skye. "Normally, yeah. What's keeping him?"
Right on cue, Midas opens the door and closes it behind him, still wearing his glasses. This time his wearing a similar outfit to his normal one, except excluding the tie and buckled shoes, he's all in white.
"My sincere apologies for my slow timing. I had... something come up. It is dealt with now though." He sighs. Midas walks to his chair and sits down, putting his golden hands together under his chin.
"Now, before we begin with today's important topics, I'm sure you are aware we have some new faces among us. Such as Ocean." He starts, mimicking a hand over to her.
Everyone gives her a kind face and a wave, as does she in return.
"And while she isn't a Ghost agent, we have Jules here too. Although, I don't think she will be sticking around. But, none the less, make her stay memorable." Jules looks at her brother with a small smile, showing she appreciates the welcome.
"And this is Sophie, a new agent in training. Do make her feel welcome here in this great organisation." He introduces Sophie to the other agents in the room. Putting the diary to the side of the table facedown, she gives an awkward wave and a small
"Um...H-Hello."
A few of the agents whisper amongst themselves. Sophie's self-doubt begins to sink in:
"Do they like me? Do they not? Jeez, I really don't fit in around here, do I?"

Midas glares at the few agents muttering to each other and clears his throat, motioning them to keep their thoughts to themselves. When he turns around, he notices the book that is now sat back in Sophie's lap.
"Hold the phone, what's this?" He asks, making the little girl panic.
"Um... i-it's nothing!"
"I'm not sure I believe you. Come on, give it here." He takes the book from her grip despite her protests against it and discovers his name on the cover of it.
"Hang on, is this my..." He turns back to her, but finds her practically dashing out the door.
"Wait, Soph! Come back!" Skye shouts, getting up from her chair.
"Agent Skye sit down this instant!" Midas tells her as all the other agents, except Ocean and Remedy, begin to talk about Sophie, a few of those words not being very nice. Midas begins to overhear them, making him more furious than he already was:
"Hiding something from the boss? That's not very 'agent' worthy is it?"
"Nothing against the boss or anything but why would he hire a child?"
"She'll never be a true agent like us."
"She's just a kid. She won't survive a second out there."
That's when Midas finally cracks:
Completely gold, he slams his fists onto the table, turning it into gold, as his voice booms throughout the room, making everyone sit down and fall deadly quiet. Even Jules is surprised, seeing her brother this pissed off.
"Jeez, he's really having a bad time keeping that temper of his under control."
The gold slowly retracting back to his wrists, he sits back down in his chair.
"You should all be ashamed of yourselves. If you're not going to show her the respect I expect from all of you, I suggest you keep your mouths shut for the rest of this meeting."
For the remainder of the meeting, every agent remains silent as he explains Shadow finally making a move, and how they will be prepared to fight back against them as soon as they arrive. But despite his confident aura, his mind couldn't stop thinking about the poor girl who ran out mere moments ago.
"She must've been so terrified. I...I shouldn't have yelled like that. I know she wasn't in the room at the time, but she must've heard me. I..."
"I need to see if she's okay. As well as Ghost's survival in this war, her safety is becoming my number 1 priority."

Man of Earth
Magic is a terrifying force. Logic itself is subject to this energy, which is (logically speaking) impossible for us to comprehend. Every universe requires some version of magic to exist. That is, all but one. Our world functiouns based on a powerful and intricate net of laws that act independently from magical interference. The most notable of these is the human brain, which is capable of even more than its creator had thought possible. Naturally, this prompted the question: "How would a human fare in a world of magic?" Soon, there was a bet. Next, a human was selected. Finally, an odd young man with a strange black hat was introduced to his new world, and all restraints were removed.

Into the Feywild
I've never considered myself to be much of a fighter. In fact, I had no notion what it was all about. I couldn't envision a war amongst people, especially my own. In this odd realm, a timid half-elf has little chance of success. Especially with minimal experience. I've only fought as a means of survival, self-defense, if you will. I had known only humans, so the concept of elven culture and family was foreign to me. And yet, here I am, in the midst of a tremendous battle between two Feys and a God. I never planned for things to turn out this way, or for me to get caught in the great shambles of war—a conflict between good and evil. My two companions are practically strangers to me, knowing nothing but my name. This journey was not something I had planned or wished for, but it was what the Gods gave me.◈ ◈ ◈Meli, a young half-elf traveling the Material Plane, is unexpectedly captured while on her travels, only to become a member of an odd group of individuals. Crane, an older wizard castaway from his college for practicing unnatural magic, and Kurky, a youthful and lively gnome who is as fascinating as they come. Meli's curiosity gets the better of her as she chooses to accompany them on their not so concrete journey into the Feywild. Little did they know of the constant war raging within this woodsy plane. Maybe Meli will discover everything she's been looking for, embracing love and pleasure along the way. Or perhaps she'll become a part of something bigger. © Copyright to EmmeMeadows 2021

Your Mundane Transmigration Into Another World
My second fiction here, it might be similar to the first, but I will focus on improving consistency as it was not very good. The idea is to make a completely ordinary isekai story, but make it right - no cliche, some originality etc. I do not yet know where it will go, but it will involve dungeons at some point, transmigraiton, demons, elves, humans, undead. I will strive for regular updates every friday, but my writing speed is that of a slime (not a native speaker), so I might not deliver every week. Feel free to write what you think, I welcome feedback. HIATUS - will continue after I am done with my other book, I am unable to write two at the same time.
