《parties // billie eilish》Chapter 83: Spider web

Julia enters the room first, rushing towards the brunette before hugging him tightly. He is wearing a gray hoodie and a pair of sweatpants, looking exhausted. The couple hug for what feels like hundreds of years before they eventually pull away.
''What did you do here?'' She asks.
''They questioned me about everything,'' he says before walking towards me. I feel guilty as he hugs me. I hate lying to him once again, but the police literally forced us to doing this. He hugs Billie after pulling away from me. I lean against the wall, crossing my arms before looking at my friends.
''What did you tell them?'' Billie asks as I bite my lip.
''Nothing,'' Kevin simply says.
''Because you don't want Travis so get hurt?'' Julia asks as he nods at her.
Now to the hardest part. We need to pretend that we agree with Kevin so that he will trust us and tell us where Travis is. If he knows that we want him to talk to the police, he won't confess anything.
''That's good,'' I say, making him furrow his eyebrows. ''We can't risk hurting him. The police just want information from us. They don't care if he gets hurt or not.''
''Exactly,'' Kevin says, believing me surprisingly. I suck at lying, so the fact that he believes me makes me feel weird.
I takes a while, but we manage to get on Kevin's good side as he releases more and more information.
''So, do you know where he could be?'' Billie asks, slowly.
''I know a place where I would go when I was little. It's like a small house not far away from here. Me and Travis were there a couple of times and if I were him, I would hide there,'' he explains.
''Why didn't you think about it earlier?'' Julia asks and I really see her point.
''Because I actually managed to track his phone yesterday. He probably threw it away somewhere, but the last location is pretty close to the house so that's why I supsect that he cold be there,'' he says in triumph.

''Really? Let's go!'' I say immediately as the others stand up.
''Don't tell anything to the police, it'll freak him out,'' Kevin says, making me nod.
We exit the police station and sit down in Julia's car. My gaze keep shifting between Billie, Kevin and Julia as they talk about Travis's location. I really don't think that we will find him at that abandoned house, it's just too obvious for him to hide there. If Kevin knew about that location, why would Travis go there? It's just so annoying how everyone here believes that. I really want to tell them how stupid this is, but they looks o hopeful and I would ruin everyhting if I said how I feel.
''We are here, babe,'' I hear a voice say, making me tense before realising that the car is empty and the car door is open with Billie standing outside of it, looking at me.
''Oh, okay,'' I mumble before getting out of the veichle, feeling a knot in my stomach. As I look around, I realise that we are in the middle of nowhere. The car is parked on a small road of gravel surrounded by a big forest.
''Let's go,'' Billie mumbles, putting her hand on my back before placing a kiss on my head. Kevin and Julia are walking in front of us towards the woods.
''I hate this,'' I whisper, making Billie put her arm around my shoulders.
''I hate it, too. I just want this to be over so everything can be like before,'' she says, making me nod in agreement.
''Same. I can't wait until Charles and Christina move here so I can have some peace,'' I mumble. ''To finally spend some time with my family.''
Billie looks at me with her eyebrows furrowed, looking concerned but in a special way that I can't explain. After pulling me closer to her she waits a while before answering.
''I'm so happy for you. You deserve a loving family.''
''I love you,'' I say as she gives me a weak smile.

''I love you, too.''
We eventually reach the small house that Kevin was talking about and my eyes widen as I grab Billie's arm, suddenly getting a bad feeling. We run towards Kevin and Julia as they study the house just a few feet away from it. The small house is green, or it was probably painted green many years ago, because there's not much color left and it makes the building look dead. The roof is black with a big hole in the right corner of it. Kevin approaches the wooden door, touching the handle slowly. As he opens up the door, it squeeks loudly and I can finally see how it looks like in the hallway. I walk up the steps made of stone before entering the house with Kevin following closely behind me. It's really dark in the narrow hallway and there's no furniture at all. One single painting of a beach is hanging on the wall, covered in spider web. I pick up my phone and turn the flashlight on before looking around to find some sort of door to get through the house.
I discover a door that looks similar to the one that we used to enter the house that I open up, feeling how I start shaking.
''Are you okay?'' Kevin asks, putting a hand on my shoulder. ''I can go first.''
He doesn't wait for me to answer before entering a new room as we follow him. The room looks like an abandoned kitchen without much furniture in it jsut like the hallway. There's a fireplace in the corner of the room made of bricks but it looks like it's about to fall apart at any second. We all walk different ways, exploring the big room to find some clues. I really wonder when the police will us here or if they will. I approach the fireplace, looking at the charcoal in it. It looks fresh, as if someone has been here recently.
''Let's go upstairs,'' Kevin says, making Billie and Julia follow him. They probably think that I'm right behind them because no one asks me to come with them. I already know that Travis won't be upstairs either so I simply decide to take a look around outside to find something. After exiting the house, I walk around it while studying the enviroment carefully. It feels good to be alone, so I simply continue walking through the woods away from the house, trying to find anything that could help me find my best friend.
After a while, I realise that I'm even more in the middle of nowhere and I actually can't even see the house anymore. I decide to call Billie just to help me get back to them. After finding her name in my contact list, I realise that she has been calling me for the past minutes without me noticing. I sigh and raise the phone to my ear, waiting for her to answer.
''Hey, where the fuck are you?'' She asks.
''I'm sorry, I was looking outside and now I'm lost,'' I say, studying the beautiful forest around me. Suddenly, my eyes get stuck at something a few feet away. There is a big stone with a white, dirty sneaker next to it. I furrow my eyebrows before running over to the starnge discovery, picking up the shoe. It's his.
''I found his shoe!'' I scream into the phone while looking at it. It almost hurts when I hold it, giving me the feeling that something is really wrong.
''Are you serious?'' Billie asks, almost shouting.
''Yes! I think so!'' I shout, panting as I start to feel more panicked.
''We're coming. Stay where you are!'' She says before hanging up. I carefully put my phone down in my pocket before deiciding to sit down on the stone when I see another shoe behind it. I cover my mouth when I realise that it's not only a shoe. It's a body.

Memoirs of A Healer/Clinical Social Worker: Autobiography of Bruce Whealton
A loving spouse. A healer. How does this person cope with evil villains willing to destroy everything? They convicted the victim... now how does the victim goes on with life as a healer? As the book opens, I was in a psychiatric hospital following a suicide attempt in December 2019. What starts as a simple conversation with another patient changed my life. Most of the rest of the book tells the reader how I got to this point. I experienced profound injustice between 2004 and 2006. By opening with a story about suicide, I want the reader to understand that the injustice was not just something that happened long ago. This book is an account of all the accomplishments and successes that I had in overcoming tremendous odds and challenges. Growing up, I was paralyzed by shyness and lacked social skills, and so the idea of becoming a psychotherapist never occurred to me when I went off to college. I learned that I could overcome those limitations. I wanted to bring that hope and healing to others. Activities like that make life meaningful and bring me joy. The reasons why I was suicidal in 2019 were set in motion in 2000 when a meteor would come crashing down upon the life that I had built leaving me powerless to do anything other than watching everything burn to ashes - the home that I had, the life I had known, the love I had, my career, everything would disappear almost as if it never existed. In that one the year 2000, I could not imagine things could get any worse. But the nightmare would continue for the next few years... culminating in a suicide attempt in 2019. Now, I am connecting with others, building relationships, and finding a reason to live again. I am writing my own story of my life. I will fight against the injustice of the past and offer my gifts to the world. I have so much to offer. I have quite a story to tell. I hope you will help me to move on with my life.
