One day, Mom had to go out for a few hours to do errands and such that mothers do. She left around noon and I took the opportunity to catch up on some reading and watch a movie or two.

Not knowing what time it was, and thinking that it couldn't have possibly been 5 hours yet, Mom's return home took me a bit by surprise.

"I thought you said you were going to be back at 5 o'clock?"

She looked at me puzzled, noticing that I was probably in the same position on the couch she had left me in, and said, "Sweetheart, it's 7:30."
