"Why are you trying to steal my stuff?"
I rolled my eyes at him and asked nicely, "Can I pretty please have one?"
"Have one what?" he asked, trying not to smile. I knew this game.
"A Snapple."
"What about it?"
"Can I please have one bottle of Snapple?"
He hummed and said slowly, "nnnnnnooooooo."
"Dad!"
"How much you got for it?" he asked. I told him I wouldn't pay for it and he shrugged, saying, "Supply and demand, sweetheart."
Trying a few more times, I finally gave up and went to make my own regular iced tea.
About an hour later, I walked back from my room past his to get to the kitchen with an empty glass. He stopped me saying, "Hey, whatcha got there?"
"And empty glass that once had the regular iced tea," I said like the words tasted awful.
"Well why'd ya do that?" he asked, seemingly innocent. "I told you you could have a Snapple."
