-Chapter 5--A awkward silence-
We were now on our way to their home. The whole car ride was so uncomfortably quiet that it was deafening to my ears.
Kevin was driving the vehicle, while his mother quietly sat next to him staring out the window.
Leo is seated right next to me on the passenger seat. He is still glued to his phone.
Once every few minutes, Kevin and his twin would give me a few sneak peeks when they thought that they were going unnoticed.
Hopefully, my father will be there, so it won't be so... intense and awkward. I don't want to be faced with these weird strangers alone.
I'm not trying to be rude, but these people, especially that jerk named "Kevin" and his mother, have this weird vibe about them that simply doesn't shake off of them, no matter how much they attempt to conceal it from the surface.
While the other twin seems kind of normal, for now. Let's say: he's the exact opposite of his jerk of a twin brother... Except for the way they both just love staring at you to get a reaction out of you... or staring at you quietly, believing that you can't see them from the corner of your eyes.
That's the only habit that they have in common that I have noticed in this small amount of time from observing them carefully.
Looking out the window, just watching cars and people passing by in a blur. My mind began wandering off again as questions kept popping up in my head, like... Where is my mother or her lover right now?
How did I end up at the hospital, anyway?
How am I even alive?
Is this all a dream?
The last thing that I recall was my mother throwing me down the basement stairs and locking the door shut behind her. Leaving me there being consumed by darkness.
From the bottom of my heart, I hope that I'll never see those two monsters again.
Especially her lover, .
I'll always loathe him for turning my mother into a monster. A cold, calculative monster that only cares about her own personal gain and welfare. It is so sad that it breaks my heart every time I think about it.
A few minutes passed by, and Kevin was now parking the vehicle in the driveway. These people live in a nice neighborhood compared to where I used to reside with my mother.

In a rundown, dangerous neighborhood filled with extreme violence, violent gangsters that jump random people for no reason, drug dealers at every corner, and last but not least, drug addicts that roam the streets late at night looking for their next fix away from the reality of the world.
My thought was abruptly cut short when the door from the passenger seat harshly opened from my left side. A gush of harsh air invades the vehicle, killing away the warmth that had been cocooning me this whole car ride.
Looking next to me, Leo was stepping out of the vehicle. My eyes trailed to the front of the vehicle, and just like Leo, they were both out of the car in seconds.
How zoned out was I?
Gazing back at the open door that Leo exited out of, there was now a standing Kevin.
"Come here," Kevin demands in a low, raspy voice, staring right at me with those sharp gray eyes.
"What makes you think I'm going to need your help? Can't your brother help me out instead? "A small frown adorned his strong features for a fraction of a second, but then it smoothed out quickly. And it's instantly replaced with a small, cocky smirk.
"Too bad, he just went inside a while ago with my mother. Now come over here.
I don't have all day. "Not moving from my spot, Kevin bends down and yanks me by my scraped arm out of the vehicle harshly.
I let out a small whimper when my body landed on the hard ground.
He places one arm supporting my back, while the other one is under my legs. And picked my body up smoothly from the hard ground.
Let's say his arms are strong and a little bit too forceful. Not trusting him to not let me drop on the ground again, I wrapped my arms around his neck, rather tightly.
"You should loosen up on your grip a little," he chuckles in amusement. This is not funny; this bastard really is pushing it.
"No way, so you can drop me on the ground again.
I'm not taking any chances with you. . " He turned his head towards me and smirked. Our faces were now centimeters away from each other.
Attempting to keep my heartbeat under control, I held my breath. Don't betray me now, stupid heart. My cheeks warm up involuntarily as I notice how blemish-free his skin is under this soft glare from the sun that was peeking behind the fluffy white clouds in the sky... This lucky bastard.

"How did you know that I was going to do that?" An evil glint shone in his dark eyes as his smile grew wider.
This bastard was actually considering dropping me from such a height... I tightened my arms a little bit more around him, and he let out a small chuckle.
He carried me into the house, but before we got inside, I took a quick glance at the house.
It was a two-story home, beautifully designed with little stones on the exterior. It was complemented nicely by the white window frames and the burgundy front door.
I'm impressed with the design.
In the interior of the house, the walls were white with a smooth finishing touch, matching the hardwood floors that were the color of ash. And that also complimented the wooden flight of stairs.
When we enter the enormous living room, He gently plops me on the navy blue couch, then he turns on the TV and hands me the remote control.
And without a word, he just simply walks out... leaving me there in a perplexed state. He doesn't even give me a chance to say "Thanks." even though he doesn't deserve one for being such a rude bully.
Damn, Weirdo... I sure hope you choke on a Lego or something.
"This is news 9."A brunette female, who seems about the age of 34-36, is about to report something important.
"Another young female body was found dead yesterday afternoon. Police say that she has also been carved with 3 letters in her abdomen and mutilated to fit into a black plastic bag.
The police confirmed that her cause of death was suffocation. Now seven young females have been found dead in the same way. The authorities are reporting that all of these horrendous murders are connected.
There are no suspects in custody yet. Authorities have announced." The female reporter says, she then directs her attention to somebody that was standing right beside her.
"Let's just hear what the victim's sister has to say about this horrendous murder." The female reporter lets out, as a woman who looks to be around 26-28 years old appears on the big screen.
She had dark bags under her hazel eyes. Her black hair was in a loose bun on top of her head. Tears slide down her face in a continuous loop while she shakenly speaks out.
"My poor little sister... A few days ago, she went out to party with her friends and never came back.
She was a nice girl who had a lot to live for. " She starts sobbing uncontrollably, her shoulder slightly trembling with every soft sob she lets out.
"Please, if anyone has any information or tips, please tell the police. Before the chain keeps going and more innocent lives are lost. " And then they show a picture of the dead girl.
WOW, she was so young, with a cheerful smile adorning her soft features. It's so awful that they took her life in such a horrible way.
"Back to you, Rick." The female reporter announced it to the male news anchor, catching his attention.
"In other news, the Yankees won the series. " After that, I zoomed out. Who is capable of committing such horrendous murders?
There must be a few loose screws in their little heads because no normal person, in their right mind, is capable of doing such a horrible thing.
But... yet again, look at my mother and Eric. They both killed someone out of the blue. My mother was such a normal person until one day her demeanor radically changed completely. She became cold-hearted, abusive, and manipulative.
Maybe she just couldn't handle the divorce from my father. And from there on, she went into a downward spiral of no return.
Leo strolled into the living room and just comfortably sat down right next to me on the navy blue couch.
"Are you seeing this?" he asked, with curiosity laced in his low, deep voice.
I shook my head, "No."
"Then pass me the controller." He stretches out his hand.
Is this guy for real?
He and I just sat here quietly, watching the show that he put on TV.
It was a show called "Dexter." It's about a guy who is kind of insane. He likes to murder bad people who have done some fucked up shit in their lives.
Every time, Dexter killed someone. This guy started laughing hysterically, like a complete lunatic.
I'm telling you, they're all freaking weirdos. I simply wonder if they are normal or is it just me?
