"So how was the party?" I asked Blanca as I browsed my closet for something to wear on my date with Haydn.
Much to my disappointment Haydn didn't spend the night, but she did leave towards the early hours of the morning. We didn't do anything special besides cuddle and watch Corpse Bride, and maybe make out a little but nothing further because the girl that held my heart wanted to do things right- and that meant going on our first "official" date before anything else.
"You actually had the right idea of ditching, that party was fucking awful." She complained as she flung herself across my bed and I rolled my eyes.
"It can't have been that bad."
"Well, for starters, the guy Logan had been talking to showed up with his girlfriend of two years and then just when Roxanne and I got her to stop crying these three butt-ugly guys came out of nowhere and started hitting on us so we all just decided to leave." She groaned. "I hate men."
"Do you really?" I snorted and I could imagine her rolling her eyes.
"You know what I mean." She sighed before I heard the springs creaking as she got off my bed. "Any luck finding an outfit?" She asked coming to stand next to me as I stared into the abyss that was my closest.
"Nope." I sighed. "I don't even know what we're doing, she won't tell me, she says she doesn't want me to hate it before I see it- whatever that means," I muttered, and Blanca cooed.
"Awww, so cute I might throw up." She muttered and I rolled my eyes before I turned to her.
"You know what you're going to do about Cesar yet?" I asked, taking the attention off me and Haydn as she shook her head.
"Not yet I mean I still love him but lately, something's been feeling off, you know? Like I don't get butterflies when I see him, and those jokes are starting to become a lot less funny." She explained. "Any advice?" She asked jokingly and I snorted.
"I would help but in my short life, I've liked a guy who turned out to be gay, got my heart broken by a straight girl and then dated a misogynist asshole who didn't know anything about me- so I might not be the best person to ask," I said offering her a sympathetic smile and she laughed.
"At least you got lucky now." She grinned and I smiled sheepishly.
"You're right, so I must've done something right." I smiled with a shrug. "But don't worry, high school relationships never last forever."
"Yeah, except you and Haydn, you guys are endgame." She said playfully and I shuddered.
"Oh my god, never say that word again- you're giving me Riverdale flashbacks," I muttered before turning back to my closest and she laughed.
"Please, you used to live for that shit."
"Don't remind me." I muttered and she shook her head.
"Okay, enough wasting time Vasiliev- let's get you ready for this date with the possible love of your life." She grinned before starting to rummage through my clothes.
It only took Blanca and me an hour before we settled on an outfit, we were both a fan of and after I got approval from Roxanne and Logan via group chat, I went to go shower. Haydn was coming to pick me up at seven and I was beyond nervous, I knew I had no reason to be because this was Haydn we were talking about- I had no reason to be nervous but this was our first time going out as more than friends, officially that is.

I just wanted everything to go perfectly.
"Oh my god stop biting your lip," Blanca shouted at me as she tried applying my lip-gloss for the third time, having already done my eyeshadow.
"Sorry," I mumbled before I sat completely still until she was done. "I'm just nervous, this is our first official date and I really want everything to go well because I want to ask Haydn to be my girlfriend."
"Wow, that's a big step girl, are you sure you're ready?" She asked carefully and I nodded.
"Definitely," I said without hesitating. "Blanca I've never felt this way about anyone in my entire life, if she asked me to elope and run away to Alaska I'd say yes."
"You see, you've been talking to Haydn for a few weeks, and you are already surer of her than I am of Cesar, and we've been together for years." She sighed and I nodded, finally understanding where she was coming from.
"Blanca you should do what makes you happy, if you feel like you and Cesar have lost your spark, you should either break up or try and fix it, but no one should be in a relationship they don't want to be a part of- it's unfair to the both of you," I explained, and she sighed.
"Thanks, Cris, I think you've given me a lot to think about." She said with a small smile. "I think I should I go soon; I don't want your lover pitching up with me still here."
"Ew, don't call us lovers you make us sound like we're eighty." I frowned and she laughed.
"Okay, okay I'm sorry but seriously, I should get going." She smiled and I nodded.
"Thank you for helping me get ready, I'll make sure to tell you guys about my date as soon as I can." I smiled as I got up and hugged her.
"You better, I didn't come all the way and do your make up for your benefit." She teased before I walked her out, making sure to lock my front door behind her.
With Blanca gone, I headed up to my room and did my hair, leaving it down in curls, before deciding to get dressed for our date. I slipped on light denim shorts, light pink tube top and fleece-lined denim jacket before putting on my white socks and pink and white Stan Smiths, making sure to accessorize with my Cristina necklace and small silver hoops.
I watched reruns of That 70's Show as I waited for Haydn, who unsurprisingly arrived at exactly five-to - she was never late. I opened the gate for her and tried to stop my heart from beating out of my chest when I heard her knock on my door. I took a deep breath and wiped my hands on my shorts before I opened the door and as soon as I saw her, I felt I couldn't breathe, but then again, she always managed to have that effect on me. Haydn stood in front of me dressed in black baggy jeans, a black Looney Toons shirt and white Air Forces, she had little gold studs in her ears, minimal makeup, and her hair was pulled into a low bun while her slender fingers held a single red rose.
I knew she was dressed pretty casually but I still thought she looked fucking incredible.
"Hi." I smiled softly; butterflies swarmed my stomach when she smiled back at me.

"Hi." She replied, unashamedly checking me out with her alluring golden eyes and I felt my brain turn to mush.
"Hi," I murmured again, desperately begging myself to focus on our conversation and not how beautiful she was.
"You said that already." She grinned and I blushed.
"Oh yeah, sorry I'm nervous," I admitted with a breathy laugh, looking down as I wiped my hands on my shorts, again.
"Hey." She murmured as she took a step closer, lifting her fingers to sit under my chin before she forced to meet her gaze. "Don't be nervous baby, it's just me." She reassured me softly while my insides melted at the term of endearment. "Oh, and this is for you." She whispered before she gave me the rose, purposefully running her fingertips over mine as the electric sensation spread across my skin in goosebumps.
Unable to trust I voice in speaking I decided to show her how I felt by leaning forward and kissing her softly. Our kiss was slow, seductive, and hot, only lasting for a few seconds before I pulled away.
"What was that for?" She whispered, slightly out of breath and I smiled at the effect I had over her.
"Just cause." I shrugged and she lightly shook her head.
"You ready to go?" She asked and I nodded as I pulled my front door closed.
"Yeah, we can go," I replied before locking up and pocketing the key.
Haydn laced our fingers together as we made the short walk to her car before she opened the passenger door for me. I remained blissfully unaware of where we were headed as Haydn drove us through town, the melodic beat of FKJ playing over the speakers but I was too distracted to even ask as Haydn's hand rested on my thigh, blindingly tracing patterns on my skin at every stoplight, turning my mind into a mess.
"So where are you taking me?" I finally asked, already 10 minutes into our drive.
"I'm not going to answer that." She smirked. "I'd rather you not hate it before you've seen it." She explained and I sighed, I was beyond curious to where she was taking me, especially since it seemed to be on the outskirts of town.
We drove for a few more minutes before Haydn pulled off to the side of the road, switching off the car as she turned to face me. I was going to ask if it was part of our date when she started talking.
"So, how do you feel about blindfolds?" She asked nervously and I couldn't help but raise my eyebrow in question.
"Isn't it a little early to be discussing our kinks?" I teased, laughing when I saw my words register in her brain, turning her bright red.
"N-no, that's not what I meant, I wouldn't- I mean I would but not so soo-" She rambled, and I decided to put her out of her misery.
"Haydn, I'm just fucking with you." I smirked, unable to hold back my laughter.
"You asshole." She laughed, playfully pushing me.
"So, what would you like to do but not so soon?" I asked flirtatiously and she rolled her eyes.
"Now I'm not telling you."
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." I apologized as I composed myself. "I'm a big fan of blindfolds." I smiled as she leaned forward.
I was hoping she was going to kiss me (because I always wanted her to kiss me) but instead she opened the glove box and pulled out a black scarf.
"Do you mind wearing this?" She asked, biting her lip. "I just want you to be really surprised." She explained and with her excited expression I couldn't help but agree.
"Of course, I'll wear it." I blushed and leaned forward as she lifted the scarf over my eyes and tied it securely behind my head, completely blinding my vision.
With my sight completely gone I felt one of Haydn's hands move under my chin, while the other gently rested on my thigh and I bit my lip when I felt her breath fan my face, seconds before her lips met mine.
But I could barely kiss her back before she pulled away.
"Sorry," she whispered, "I couldn't help myself."
"Please don't ever help yourself," I whispered back as my cheeks turned red and I heard her chuckle before she started the car again.
We didn't drive for much longer this time before I felt Haydn turn into a parking spot and turn off the car, everything falling silent. It didn't seem like we were in a busy part of town, it was way too quiet, so I ruled out the movies, a restaurant or basically anywhere else I thought she'd take me, so I was quite literally in the dark.
"We're here." She murmured as she breathed out nervously. "I'm going to come around and open your door." She offered before I heard her door open and close, and I heard her footsteps crunch on what sounded like gravel as she walked to my door.
"So, are you gonna tell me where we are yet?" I queried as she opened my door.
"Nope, not yet." She murmured and I could hear the nervousness in her voice, so as soon as I hopped out the car, I made sure to grab her hand, stopping her from moving away from me.
"Hey, stop stressing. I don't care where our first 'official' date is, as long as I get to have it with you." I said trying to reassure her and I heard her sigh.
"I just don't want to fuck this up, Cristina." She disclosed in a desperate whisper, and I smiled as I squeezed her hand.
"Don't be nervous baby, it's just me," I whispered back, repeating the words she used to comfort me. "Haydn, I promise you I'll love whatever you have planned."
"But what if you don't?" She argued and my heart broke for her.
"Are you going to be there?" I questioned and I could picture her biting her lip.
"Yes, but-" She started but I cut her off.
"Then nothing else matters, okay?"
"Okay." She sighed and I grinned.
"Now, are you going to show me where we are?" I hinted and I felt her place her hands on my waist.
"Yes, of course." She assured before kissing me on the cheek. "Don't worry, I've got you." She whispered as she gently pushed me forward, the gravel crunching under our shoes.
"You better."
