My mind wandered as I thought back to when Haydn drove us back to her house to drop her off before I had to drive home, replaying the night, she didn't lie when she said she was good with her hands. I really hated leaving her though, if it were up to me, I would be with her all the time but at least I knew the feeling was mutual because we spent the whole next day on the phone.
I couldn't stop thinking about her at school either, and seeing glimpses of her as we rushed to different ends of the building was torture- especially when she winked in passing. I didn't mind though; I was so happy that not even Wesley could ruin my day with his constant glaring and anger issues.
"Cristina!" Logan called out, pulling me out the way of a runner as we made our way to the field for P.E. "What's been going on with you today, you're never present."
"Sorry, I guess just zoned out." I shrugged sheepishly, too embarrassed to admit I'd been daydreaming of my girlfriend.
"Liar!" Blanca grinned. "I know a sex flashback when I see one." She teased, bumping my hip with hers and I felt my cheeks turn red at being called out. "OH MY GOD, I KNEW IT!"
"Shut up Blanca, people are gonna hear you." I hushed, blocking her mouth with my hand before we reached everyone else, including some girls from the cheerleading team.
"Well, you have to tell us more about this later," Logan smirked as I blushed. "Oh, and we have to talk about Monet's party this weekend, especially since Cris refuses to come to them anymore." She added before she walked over to our teacher while Blanca and I went to stretch with everyone else.
"Cris! We were just talking about you!" Danika gushed as I walked over, stretching my arms with them.
"Why?" I frowned, meeting Blanca's confused gaze with my own.
"Oh, we were talking about how we need to find you a boyfriend now that you and Wes are done for good," Sophia added and I rolled my eyes.
"Wesley and I have been 'done for good' for a while now." I pointed out before I started to stretch my back. "Besides, I don't want a boyfriend," I emphasized, hoping they'd leave it alone.
"Why not? Every guy in the school has been talking about how they wanna shoot their shot." Amanda exaggerated and knowing they weren't gonna drop it anytime soon I decided just to say it.
"Actually, the reason why I don't want a boyfriend is because I already have a girlfriend," I explained nonchalantly.
As expected, I was met with a chorus of "WHAT", "WHO" and "HOW" and I almost immediately regretted saying anything in the first place. However, I foolishly thought that that would be it and they'd drop the subject of my love life completely, but it just got worse, as everyone suddenly decided to voice their unwelcome opinions.
"Ummm, no offence but you'd look better with a guy." One of them piped up and I stared in shock as the words registered in my brain.
"What the fuck?! You haven't even seen her," I exclaimed in disbelief, Blanca looking as surprised as me.
"Yeah, but we don't have to, we know you, Cris." Amanda smiled, talking as though we were close friends. "Girls don't really suit you, you guys will probably break up anyways. You need a man." She shrugged like it was nothing- like Haydn meant nothing.

"Yo, what the actual fuck?!" Blanca exclaimed angrily, gaining everyone's attention as my blood started to boil.
"Jeez, calm down, we're just being honest, you'll thank us later," Danika said, talking to us as though we were children who didn't understand and when she tried to lovingly caress my shoulder I slapped her hand away, hard.
"Don't fucking touch me." I seethed, my anger clawing to the surface. "And don't you dare talk about me like you know anything about my life. We're not friends, I can barely deal with your nasty, nasal voices for an hour after school and you actually think we're friends?!?" I spat, taking a step forward as they took a step back, looking hurt.
"But Cris, we're just trying to help-"
"No. You were just trying to run your mouth about something that does not concern you. I'm so sorry that your only cling to popularity comes in the form a striped fucking uniform and talking about people who don't even know you but if I hear you speak about me or my girlfriend, I will not hesitate to drag your flat ass through the street by your thinning hair." I spat, and this would be the part where I actually spit at them but given the tears in their eyes, I decided not to.
"Hey, hey, hey, what's going on here?" Logan asked confused as she looked to Blanca and me for some sort of explanation, but I had had enough of the bullshit.
"I quit," I spoke clearly, feeling bad for my friend as her eyes grew wider but my anger couldn't bring myself and stand and explain so instead, I turned on my heel and walked away.
Blanca and Logan immediately followed right behind me, Blanca asking if I was okay while Logan asked for an explanation, but I couldn't answer, my attention was on a panicking Roxanne running straight for us.
"CRIS!" She yelled fearfully and I picked up my pace to reach her.
"What's going on?" I asked gently but she shook her head.
"You have to come quick." She panted and I frowned. "Wesley is trying to beat up Haydn."
My body went cold.
Her words had barely left her lips before I took off in the direction of the school building, running as fast as I could. I couldn't let Wesley hurt Haydn, I didn't want that ugly piece of shit to even touch her, she didn't deserve that. I followed the chanting as my shoes slapped against the tiles and a combination of relief and panic flooded me as I rounded the corner to see a group of people surrounding my girlfriend- whom Wesley was swinging at.
My body filled with blind rage as I catapulted myself into the crowd and ducking past the barrier of Wesley's friends I used my anger, momentum and entire body weight to push an unstable and unsuspecting Wesley to the floor. I quickly glanced behind me to see Haydn with a slightly swollen eye and a busted lip, looking better than I expected but when I looked down at Wesley, I was honestly surprised- he looked pretty beaten up.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" I screamed at him as he groggily sat up and spat out blood. His nose was busted and bleeding, the right side of his face, along with his eye seemed to be swollen and he was cradling his right hand.
"Don't give me that shit Cristina." He seethed at me before turning to Haydn standing next to a dented locker. "I know this bitch stole you away from me." I turned to look at a smirking Haydn, who looked intimidating with a slight red tinge to her lips. "I knew something was up when you broke up with me because no girl just breaks up with me, but it turns out you were just fucking d*ke." He said angrily and I rolled my eyes, not caring about the crowd.

"Cry me a river you, idiot." I spat. "I broke up with you weeks before I started dating Haydn, not because I liked girls but because you're a shitty person! Not to mention you constantly smell like B.O., you're a narcissist and my pinky is longer than your dick." I said, getting met with an "ooo" from the crowd.
"Are you sure you wanna do this Cristin?" He threatened. "Because everyone is going to know just how much of a slut you are- how much you liked getting fucked from behind." He smirked as he stood up, towering over me, expecting me to cower beneath him but my rage and need to protect Haydn had overridden my anxiety and I stood my ground.
"Only so I wouldn't have to see your fucking face. Besides I was seventeen and didn't know you were even taking a video." I replied back calmly. I knew I had only turned 18 a week before I broke up with him, and as I took a step closer to him, I could feel Haydn's hand try to pull me away as she stood next to me. "Speak to me or Haydn again and I'll hit you with a lawsuit so hard no college or university would want to touch you," I spoke lowly before I allowed Haydn to pull me behind her.
I was over it, and I was tired from the day's events and by the looks of Haydn I knew she had to see the nurse.
As my adrenaline started to subside, I felt the anxiety start to creep in as I realized that I was standing in front of a crowd of people all staring at me and I quietly tugged on Haydn's shirt so we could leave. She eyed an angry Wesley carefully as she picked up her bag off the floor and followed me out the crowd but not before turning to Wesley.
"You might wanna put some ice on that." She said gesturing to the state of his face, and he exploded in a violent rage.
"FUCK YOU CRISTINA! I'M GOING TO SEND THE VIDEO TO THE FUCKING SCHOOL YOU FUCKING BITCH!" He yelled seriously and I knew he would do it too, but I could cry about it later- I had to make sure Haydn was okay but a familiar voice made me halt in my footsteps.
"I'm sorry? Come again?" Roxanne stepped forward with her phone facing Wesley. "Did you just threaten to leak a non-consensual sexual video of a minor?" She asked and the fear that overtook Wesley's face was hilarious.
"What?! No. I-" He started but was interrupted by a teacher finally walking.
"What is going on here?" Our principal, Mr. Greer boomed and before Wesley could speak Roxanne stepped forward.
"Wesley tried to beat Haydn, called Cristina a homophobic slur and then threatened to send a non-consensual sexual video involving a minor to everyone in the school." She smiled sweetly.
"She's lying!" Wesley fumed at Roxanne, and she simply held up her phone.
"Everyone here has it recorded Sir." She explained and our principal sighed.
"Wesley, Haydn, Roxanne and Cristina please come to my office. Everyone else, clear out of the hallway!" He yelled as students slowly dispersed.
Mr Greer walked behind us until we were all seated in his office and with video evidence and another angry outburst from Wesley it didn't take long for Mr Greer to suspend Wesley for two weeks and report him to the police. By the time Haydn and I managed to make it to the nurse and get Haydn cleaned up, I was dead on my feet but thankfully since we were both over 18, she allowed me to take Haydn home with strict instructions to stay awake for the next few hours to make sure Haydn didn't have a concussion.
Haydn left her keys with Jamal so he could drive her car home after school and once we were in mine, I decided that I couldn't take a beat-up Haydn home to Laura and instead opted to take her to my house. Thankfully no one was home, so I made her sit on the barstool as I iced her face with a packet of peas while she cradled a pack of mixed veg on her hand.
It was quiet for a while before I decided to talk.
"I'm sorry," I whispered guiltily as I teared up. "I'm so so sorry."
"It's okay, Cristina it's not your fault." She murmured. "Besides, at least the bruising will make me look hot." She joked but I couldn't stop.
"Yes, it is, I-" I started but I was cut off by Haydn moving the peas to kiss me again and again, peppering kisses across my face and forehead before pulling back and placing the peas over her face again.
"Stop talking about my girlfriend like that." She whispered and I nodded, blushing as I tried to change the subject.
"You look better than I was expecting," I admitted, and Haydn smirked, wincing against her lip, which thanks to the nurse, was clean and starting to scab.
"I grew up with guys like him my whole life, I had to learn how to defend myself against people bigger than me." She shrugged. "Besides, that idiot can barely fight, he's just cocky." She pointed out and I nodded slowly as our atmosphere turned serious.
"How come you did tell me he had a video of you?" She asked quietly and my heart broke.
"Because I was humiliated." I shrugged, unable to meet her eyes. "And I didn't want you to think any less of me or look at me differently- I thought you wouldn't want me anymore."
"Cristina, baby." She sighed sympathetically as she moved the peas away so that she can look at me. "You know that whole 'you don't have to fight these battles alone anymore' works both ways, right?" She asked and I blushed at her repeating the words I had used on her.
"I do now," I said sheepishly before she wrapped her arms around me.
"I could never not want you, Cristina. You're so beautiful that I wonder how the hell I managed to convince you to be my girlfriend." She said with a small smile, and I felt relieved as I leaned further into her, being careful of the bruises on her torso. "By the way, you were pretty hot standing up to Wesley, yelling at him like that." She flirted and I shook my head with a small smile- she was back to normal.
"If you think I looked hot there you should've seen me in P.E." I laughed and her eyebrow shot up in curiosity.
"What happened in P.E?"
"Some of the girls from the cheerleading team were pushing me to get a boyfriend but I said that I had a girlfriend and after some ignorant comments I read them for filth and quit the team." I shrugged and her eyes widened in surprise.
"You quit the team? Are you sure this is something that you want?"
"Yes, definitely, this just means I get to spend more time with you." I smiled and she leaned in to kiss me, groaning slightly from the pain of her lip before I pulled away.
"You're hurt, let's go ice your face and watch The Walking Dead," I suggested as I moved back so she could get off the chair but once she was down, she grabbed my hand before I could walk away.
"One question though."
"Shoot." I shrugged, expecting her to ask for food or something to drink.
"Do you get to keep the uniform?" She asked hopefully and I burst out laughing.
"Why?" I grinned as she smirked.
"For research purposes." She shrugged with a mischievous look in her eye.
"Behave, Haydn," I replied as I pulled her in the direction of my couch.
"Funny, that's not what you told me Saturday night." She countered and I blushed a deep red.
I didn't wanna tell her yet but yes, we got to keep the uniforms.
