It's been a few months and nothing interesting has happened to be honest. As much as you hoped you'd be home sometime sooner, you were getting the hang of being on the island of Fortnite, one of your favorite games. It was now the end of September and one of your favorite months were approaching, October! Over the past few months that have quickly gone by, the most action that's happened was the constant arguments between Midas and Demi. You and Midas haven't quite gotten as close as you hoped but you knew he just needed to warm up a little bit more, or so you wanted to believe.

Everyday was basically the same routine, nothing really new. You and Midas had some chit chats here and there.. that is before someone would come in and interrupt, most of those time beings by Demi herself. You knew it was on purpose but since she was somewhat higher than you (being close to Midas), you didn't want to start something that you might regret.. for Midas' sake of course. At the end of the day you knew you were better than her when it came down to personality so that's something that helped you sleep at night. To this day she never picked on you personally but her energy and mood said otherwise, but you ignored it, knowing that it'd make her go even more mad not giving her your attention.

[7:13pm] [September 29th]

You were currently going through a long day as you sat at your desk leaving the door open, constantly running both your hands through your hair showing a sign of stress and boredom. You sighed as you struggled to reread the paperwork in front of you, it wasn't a lot but it's gotten to the point where you've gotten bored and tired of this same everyday routine. Coming in early, having 5 minutes to spare with the agents in the lounge, then having to leave them to go do work while they mess around and get ready for their one hour meetings. You couldn't lie, you were jealous that you couldn't work like them, who wouldn't wanna be a cool secret agent going on missions and defeating the bad guys. What's more badass than that?

You zoned off thinking about what it'd be like if you were to be like one of them, someone quiet relevant in the building as you were just a random assistant to a hot boss who you only talked to if you were lucky enough! You had gotten majority of your work done so you didn't care about the rest of the assignments resting before you. Letting out yet another and bigger sigh you slowly put your head on the desk, letting your left arm be a temporary pillow. 'I'm really contemplating on sleeping on the job right now.. I'm terrible... but fuck it.'

As you were dozing off, you heard footsteps walk through your opened door making you snap up. It was Midas. 'FUCK.' you were sure he could see the fear and embarrassment in your eyes. You quickly saved yourself.

"I'm sorry I finished most of my work and I just needed a quick rest."

A smile slowly creeped up on his emotionless face making you feel so much better. "Usually I wouldn't allow that but you're hard working so I'll let it slide." He admitted.

You hated how the most simple things he says makes your day 10x better because you were very sure that you weren't tired anymore, but at the same time you loved it, you wouldn't want it from anyone else.

"Anyways I came up here to inform you that you have a visitor waiting down at the lobby."

A visitor? Who would want to visit you? The only people you knew were the people here in this building. You gave Midas a puzzled face.

"A visitor..? Who would visit me?" You asked narrowing your eyes in confusion

"Some guy named Verge, I believe." He answered. You let the name marinate in your head before it clicked.

"My bad, I'm being rude, My names Verge. Nice to meet you.. uh?" "Y/N, and it's nice to meet you too Verge."

Verge! That cute and mysterious ski mask guy from the mall that knew Skye! You felt relieved that it was someone that you knew, though it's not like you two were friends.. so why would he want to visit you?

"Weird. I've only met that guy once." You told Midas

"Really? If that makes you uncomfortable I'll kick his ass out." He said seriously. You swore you felt some type of tingle in a certain area from his tone. 'STOP IT NO.' you giggled at his kind gesture as you gently shook your head no.

"It's okay I'm sure he means no harm, maybe he's here looking for Skye since they're friends."

"I'll walk you out to him." Midas demanded

Oh my.. gosh?? You were feeling some type of way with how he's handling the situation with a guy you barely know, making sure you feel safe because who knows what Verge's intentions are. You got butterflies in your stomach at the thought of Midas looking out for you.

As you and Midas were walking down the steps together you moved you uncrossed your arms to look a little more professional but in the progress your knuckles brushed against Midas golden ones. You felt your chest immediately twist and your face go hot. Snatching your hand back you apologized.

"Uh- sorry.." You tried playing it off cool but he just continued to walk as if nothing happened.

As you two reached the bottom of the staircase you scanned the room for the familiar ski mask and goggle boy. Your eyes stopped at you saw him casually having a conversation with Bracer as she sat in her usual spot at the front desk. They oddly dressed the same and everything and you were just now catching onto that. Midas continued walking to towards him and Bracer as you followed behind him. Verge noticed you and waved your guys' way as you two approached them.

"Hey!" Verge started

"Hey Verge, what are you doing here?" You asked

"I'm just visiting my sister here." He said as he nudged Bracer with his elbow making her slightly annoyed.

"Ugh what'd I say about nudging me you know I don't like it." She scolded making him laugh. His laugh was cute with a slight squeak.

"Oh.. cause Midas told me that you wanted to see me?"

"Well I knew you worked here and I haven't seen you since we first met so I wanted to say hi, I already greeted and talk to Skye right outside as she was heading out." He explained

Midas and Bracer started their own conversation about upcoming work as you and Verge continued your own personal conversation.

"So how are you?" He asked

You sighed showing that you weren't doing so great, "Really tired, stressed, and exhausted lately.. Don't really know why." You admitted looking down at your feet. You didn't notice by Midas overheard that part of your conversation before continuing his talk with Bracer. Verge couldn't help but feel bad, sure he worked but he came from a pretty wealthy family so he doesn't know what it's like to work so much to the point of being stressed, everything was practically handed to him and his sister but they both decided to do something rather than let their lives go to waste.

"I see.. Hey! Maybe we could do something to cheer you up? Beach? Ice cream??" He kindly offered. You barely knew the guy but you knew he had a big heart to offer help to a stressed biatch like you. "Think of it as a stress reliever day." He finished

You chuckled thinking about how nice that would be before giving your answer, "Sure, I'll be ready once I get off work here in a bit." You smiled

"No worries, I'll hang out down here with Brace until you're off." He suggested. Wow. Someone outside of work that wants to hang out with you? You were more than glad that you were now making a new friend.

But little did you know, Midas was listening that whole time and he felt his chest tighten. He couldn't help but not listen, he doesn't mean to eavesdrop, he just happens to hear it all. He doesn't know why he felt like this when he heard Verge offer you a stress free day but he chose to ignore it, 'maybe this feeling will go away' he prayed.
