《AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER》CHAPTER 28

Christian laid back on the rocking chair going front and back, deep in thought. His hand held the red liquid glass between his fingers while his eyes rested close. The clock went on "tick-tock", the only thing that dared to make a noise in this dangerous cessation. The eyeballs of the man kept turning on the inside while his brows scrunched from time to time. The room was filled with darkness that no light could eliminate.

The chair creaked when it came to a halt and the door of the room was opened. Christian remained silent with his eyes still closed while his nose did the work. "What is it?" the man asked upon being disturbed at his contemplating time.

"I found two werewolves sniffing around the border, sir" the person who just entered the room answered. He was tall with broad shoulders, and a hood covering his whole body and face, except his almost black lips. His hair was below the shoulders peeking out of the hood from the sides.

"I see...." Christian retorted. "But, why are you here?" he asked, a bit irked at the guy's arrival. The guy remained silent for so long before opening his mouth.

"I heard Cora left the borders and I wanted to see you" there was a lot of innocence in his voice. Behind the hood, his eyes danced on the floor as his hands shivered in Christian's presence. Christian sighed and stood from his chair which made the guy take two steps back. The guy stood half a foot above Christian but even a blind person could see who the intimidating one was.

"Listen, Samael. And listen very carefully. I made you, just to destroy the ones that come on to me, didn't I?" he said bluntly to which the guy, Samael nodded. "How could you do that when you act like this?" his voice was calming like silk. Anyone in the room can be fooled for him to be a very affectionate father figure but the scene next would shatter the assumption.

"I-I'm sorry" Samael apologized immediately.

"There you go again" he chuckled with his head facing downward. The second he raised his head, Samael was pinned to the wall by the hood on his head while a knife poked his cheek drawing out blood. His face was revealed which a pale color and dazzling blue eyes while his well-built body shivered.

"Samael... Samael... Samael... my son, I will not eat you away" the ruthless man laughed ironically folding his hands and watching the guy going stoic as the knife dared to go more in.

"I told you, darling. You should be strong like your father"

"Y-yes, father" his shimmering blue eyes showed pain but no tears. It was like he was used to it, used to bear the pain daily. Used to the knives cutting him down.

"Look.Me.In.The.Eye.When.You.Talk" he gestured towards his eyes with the fingers which made the knife move from Samael's cheek to his eyes. It stood straight and an inch away from his retina. One movement wrong and the knife could slit through his head.

"Yes, father" his lips trembled making eye contact with the blood-shot eyes as if the knife is not just threatening to destroy his eyes forever. His hands were turned into fists, the long nails peeling the palms.

"Yet you barely do it" he twirled his short hair and sitting back on the chair. "I'm disappointed, tch"

"I'm sorry, father" his voice did not tremble this time, because his father disliked fear. He despised it.

"Hmmm... What do we do to chastise you?" he smirked drinking away his bloodshot drink. The liquid slid sensually from the corner of his lips while he gulped down the sour taste.

Christian was handsome. Utterly handsome. His cheekbones were high, lips all red and round blood-shot eyes. He was a carbon copy of his older brother excluding the eyes. But he didn't age as Christopher did. He was still the same young man, he was twenty years ago when he was tossed out of the pack.

And the resemblance between Samael and Christian often was a reason behind a hot topic.

"Anything you want, father," Samael said. Was he afraid? Yes. But, can he talk back and run away? No.

"Hmmm..." Christian watches Samael hanging at the wall with his head thrown back and throat gulping down the saliva, waiting for a punishment "No, Samael. Not this time, you are going to be a very useful asset in this war. Better be prepared to serve heads" he states and slides off the boy from the wall. He gestures to Samael to leave the room and the boy obeys.

Once he was out of sight, Christian resumes his motion on the chair and drink from the glass. "You are going to slits throats and break necks of your own blood, Samael. And it would be very fun to watch " he whispers with a smirk closing his eyes back.

"Aren't you a hybrid too, Sir Tib?" Blake asks the question going through the book, Tib presented him. As alpha of Crimson Borders, Blake was also responsible for a few of his duties he shared with Easton. Though the older alpha made sure not to press much on his mate, Blake did take a good amount of responsibilities.

"That I am, kiddo. My dad was one of the first vampires and my mother was a witch" he explains. "But, the hybrids mentioned in the book are different" he further explains.

"How?" The explanation Tib and Easton gave him earlier today, made Blake very curious about the book. As it was written in Latin and Blake was surprisingly capable of reading it, he made sure not to leave a single word.

"Hybrids go by two types. One, the natural one, like me, where two completely different creatures go through the.... "process", you know-"

"You mean sex," Easton says with an amused chuckle.

"The intercourse-"

"Sex"

"Love mak-"

"Sex"

"Holy cow, Easton. You just wanted to make me think about my parents having "sex", didn't you?" Tib's nerves break making Blake laugh inwardly and fake glare at his mate for annoying his sir.

"You did it on your own. I did not do anything. I'm just helping you with wider vocabulary" Easton shrugs, he knew exactly why his friend was so careful with the words "parents" and "sex" and it was no fun when you don't touch the fragile subject.

If not what are you a friend for?

"You are gross!" Tib replies with fuming anger.

"You should be the last person to call me gross" Easton just folds his hands back of his head and bends on the chair.

"You-"

"Sir Tib" Blake gently says with a sorry expression for his mate which melts away the half-vampire. "Please"

"You are lucky, you have Blake" he says under his breath, gritting his teeth.

"That I am" Easton replies with soft eyes and growing hunger looking at his gorgeous mate. Every second of breathing his mate's smell was driving him crazy. Blake too smiles at his mate barely containing himself from climbing back into Easton's lap and drive his clothes away. Run his hands at every place he can reach and beyond. And-

"GET A FUCKING ROOM!" Tiberius outbreaks, holding his nose. "Your arousal will kill me someday. Gross" he shivers. Blake turns away from Easton, while the older alpha too sits straight with a blush.

"So, a-after the natural one?" Blake questions hiding away his embarrassed face.

Tib holds his glare on both of them before continuing. "Yeah, so the second type is unnatural or mythical. Here the tests are conducted in the labs after collecting several samples from different species, dead or alive, and are injected into the object. The object here could be a werewolf, a vampire, a warlock, an elf, or can also be a human" he explains further.

"So..." Blake looks down at the book in his hand. Caeleste. "You are saying everything written in this book has already happened?"

"Yes, most of it written are the ones, I have witnessed in my immortal life, and the rest that's going to happen will be encrypted too will be jotted down, looking at the way your pairing was written" Tib explains which Blake nods in understanding. Every big and history-changing event in the supernatural world automatically gets written in Caeleste.

"I see... But, this person who is doing all these mythical experiments should get caught. Or else, the destruction would be incredible" Blake ponders to which Tib and Easton exchange looks.

"True..." Easton trails off. "And what if I say that we do know the people behind this" the older alpha chooses his words carefully. The tension in the room raises that was only felt by Easton and the half-vampire.

"You do?" Blake looks between the pair. "Who is it?" he asks innocently. Easton bites the inside of his cheek and visibly gulps down the saliva.

"Christian Jensen" Tib says on behalf of Easton. Blake looks at his idol with furrowed brows. A sly smile appears on his lips as he shakes his head.

"Sir Tib, there are only four Jensens known to me Christopher, Cora, Brianna, and Blake. Who are you talking about? " he asks with a smile. Maybe his hero made a mistake.

"No, Blake. Tib is right, it's Christian Jensen" Easton covers up. Blake looks confused, his brain was still catching up on the words his mate said.

"I-"

"Christopher and Christian Jensen were twins, Blake. Due to some reasons, twenty years ago, Christian was kicked out of the pack by his brother, your father. And now, all he eye is the alpha seat which is-"

"Ours" Easton chimes in. Blake looks at his mate with knotted brows.

"Correct. Therefore, he is preparing an army of imbeciles where everyone thinks with their thirst for blood but not with the brain, because it's already been manipulated" Tib rationalizes. "Which also includes the wolves gone missing from the pack. Duncan was lucky enough to fall out"

Blake takes down the words, he was fed with. But, the explanation did clear a lot of happenings in the pack for the past few days.

"But, why was he thrown out?" Blake asks confused. All he did learn through his life was that any Jensen was meant to kind and helpful. If the person Tib was talking about was a Jensen, what did he do to be left as a rogue?

Tib sighs but just then Christopher walks in. He stood near the door, listening to the trio unfolding the buried truth, which he himself couldn't explain to his son. But, it was impossible for him to stay quiet anymore.

"It all started when we were born" he walks further grabbing the attention of his son. "I was born a minute before to him. We both grew in a loving environment with very caring parents. Mom and dad never discriminated between us and neither, did we. But, there always was a peaceful rivalry. I and Christian were very close, we almost knew everything each of us was thinking at that moment. We went to school together, excelled at it together. Sports, affairs, academics anything and everything we made through it. Our choices barely differed from each other. And that's where the problems started.

It was cool at first with all the eatings or toys we got, subjects we chose, but life changed when we hit puberty" Christopher closes his eyes recalling the moment.

"We met Cora. And in the same second, fell in love with the same girl, at the age of seventeen. In a later year, she turned out to be my mate. That gave our close relationship the first shocker. And all this "friendly" rivalry took off the wrong path.

It worsened when I was declared to be the next alpha but not "us" together because Christian was born without a wolf, hence no mate too" there was guilt sitting in the former alpha's heart. It hurt him physically to think that his brother had such a fate.

"Christian always dreamed of sitting in this position and ruling over people. Yet, he couldn't achieve it and he went mad. Years went on and no one knew what he was doing until all his plan of revenge was in open" It shook the former alpha when he first got to know what his brother was plotting.

*deep breath*

"He went on with an act of being innocent and happy just to poison our pack with wolf's bane after several years of planning. Most of the wolves survived the poison attack but many of them couldn't. And I was left to make a decision. I couldn't do anything but throw him out, him being my little brother. Never did I know, my decision to save his life would twist my own life in this way" he sighs sitting down on the chair and pinching the bridge of his nose.

There remained silence in the room, everyone knowing the minute details of the story they just heard from here and there. Tib too didn't know the whole truth except for the later part. "Wow, our family does have a dramatic history" Blake nervously chuckles while Easton rolls his eyes. Why does he adore this boy again?

"Idiot"

"Shut up, Easton" he glares and shuts Easton up. "But, does this have something to do with mom's missing?" he questions which straighten up the backs of everyone in the room. They keep looking at each other, making Blake nervous. "What?"

"It does," Christopher says again.

"So, this man was the one who took away my mom? Kidnapped her?" Kai growled in anger, both of them now knew the reason for Blake's suffering for all these years. "Answer me, father" he pushes.

"Yes," he admits. Letting his eyes roam all over the room and out, making sure that Cora wasn't anywhere near he continues. "But, it was not kidnapping, Blake"

"What are you talking about?" he questions with irritation lacing his voice.

"Cora-. Cora left with him on her own will" he confesses making Blake's rage break into pieces. "She left us for him" these words making something in the young alpha snap.

Kill him... Kill him... Kill him...

The words kept repeating in his mind while Kai went out of sight.

Blake marches towards his father and aims for his neck. Christopher hits back on the wall with the incoming attack.

"HOW COULD YOU?" he extends his hand for his father's neck. It wouldn't be wrong to tell that Blake loved Cora a bit more than he loved Christopher. The fact that Christopher didn't save his mother all the years back drained his mind with a lot of despise for his father.

But, he could never think of hurting his father. Never ever.

Easton stops his mate before he could touch his father. He pushes him away by the chest making the younger alpha stumble back with force. "What are you doing?" The younger alpha growls barely standing on his feet due to the power.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Easton raises his voice. "He is your father, Blake. Come back to your senses" he shouts as Blake blinks away and visibly relaxes like something just left his body.

Tib stands there and eyes this bizarre situation. What was wrong with them?

Blake shrugs off his untidy shirts and walks out of the room confused and angered. "This was... strange" Christopher says overcoming the fact that his son attacked him.

"Very" Tib comments eyeing Blake, as he walks out.

-------------------

Blake sat in the backyard with his legs folded in Indian style as he plucked out the grass from the lawn. He was feeling shameful to act like that. He wanted to hit himself a thousand times to even think that he could hurt his father.

"What didn't you stop me?"

He questions Kai who was always pondering upon the events that happened a few minutes ago.

I couldn't. I wasn't able to sense you.

"But, we are completely fine now"

I know. This is confusing, Blake.

"It is"

He sat there for few more minutes, before getting up and walking into the house. The former alpha sat on the couch and watched the news which reported about the Sensex. On the other side of the room, sat Easton with a sullen face. The older alpha looked at Blake did not react much, he next looked at Christopher who merely found another presence in the room.

It was Easton's way of telling Blake to apologize but without moving a lip. Blake felt guilty enough for what he did. All he did know was, he was in the wrong. Nevertheless, he was not used to apologizing. But this time, it brought his soul out to overlook such a mistake. He outstepped his boundary.

Walking to his father, he kneeled in front of him blocking Christopher's view of the television. The brownish orbs of the former alpha, which were similar to his son's, held nothing but remorse. He was sorry for hiding away the truth from his son for so long.

"Father, I-" Blake's voice hitched. He wasn't even conscious when his eyes were filled with tears. Christopher immediately stroked his son's cheek and shake his head. "I'm sorry, father" The former alpha's heart broke hearing his son's weak voice. All they did these past years was argue and fight.

Blake went out of the house for days, spent his time away from his father, probably enjoying his sexual life or doing things which he shouldn't. There wasn't a single day where both of them sat down and spoke about life. And it was wrenching his heart when Blake finally looked at him with soft eyes.

"It's all good, my son" Christopher smiled genuinely and wiped off the tears of the young alpha. "It's all good" he repeated stroking Blake's cheek.

It warmed Easton's heart to watch such an emotional scene. Being born in a family, where everyone is always surrounding you with love and affection, he could barely imagine how was it for Blake. With his sister being gone and mother not found, he built a huge wall in between him and Chris which now Easton can see shattering.

No one in the room has seen, but Cora stood at the corner of the room, watching the father and son. A smile appears on her face looking at their love. But, then it took a second for the smile to blow away.

What would've been the scene if her other son was also alive?

How would it have been if his father loved him too?

How would it have been if Christopher didn't have left their son to death that night?

-----------------

"I already said "no", Duncan" Ezra fought removing his mate's arms off his shoulders.

"But why?" Duncan whined. Ezra rolled his eyes and packed his backpack for school.

"Because I got school?" he retorted with a duh tone.

"But, you can skip for just one day" he cried blocking Ezra's way out. "Please please please" he wrapped his arms around Ezra's waist and requested with everything he can.

"I already missed school for a whole week. Just for you" Ezra complained pushing Duncan off him but the beta didn't budge.

"No! That was for Arion. This is for me. One day, Ezra. One day" he nudges the young alpha with his nose into his neck.

"Exactly, let me go for one day then we have summer vacation" Ezra tries to argue.

"No!" Duncan almost cries.

"Ugh, fine!" Ezra gives in, lighting up a hundred watts bulb on Duncan's face. "But, help me with the homework later"

"Yes! I love you" Duncan kisses Ezra tight on the lips before unwrapping his embrace. "I will see you at the packhouse at eleven. Wearing anything comfortable and I know you will look sexy anyway. See ya!" he rushes off the room before Ezra could even blink.

The energy.

"I know right?"

*sigh*

-----------------------

"You are late" Ezra complained as he was standing at the packhouse for the past five minutes and Duncan just arrives. He wore khaki-colored, knee-length pants and loose flowers imprinted white shirt with a hat.
