The sun was setting, the sky now tinted a pinkish orange, slowly fading to blue.
This all happening while you were walking down the streets of the almost unknown town.
This trip to get nikumans was helping you in different ways. The first one being that you now memorized some interesting places to visit and the other one was that it lifted your mood greatly.
Advancing towards your destination, which name and position were still unknown to you, you decided to intiate a conversation with one of the club members which you've talked the less with.
He was in your class but he didn't really stand out, nor was he the defintion of social or talkative.
Yamaguchi Tadashi was one pleasant person to talk with, and his occasional stutters and blushes didn't bother you one bit. In fact you thought the latter actually helped him make one of his cutest characteristics stand out, it being his freckles. Even though it sometimes got so heavy and bright that it completely covered them.
"So, you're Tsukishima's childhood friend?" You asked the black haired male walking alongside you.
He nodded in response, shifting his gaze from you to his feets continuously. Trying to avoid eye contact, thing that was slowly and slightly annoying you just because you haven't seen his eyes yet. All in all that action could be a cute factor but you were curious. You were definitely going to see his eyes
"Yes, I am.." He replied in a low tone.
"Is that so. I thought that string bean would have been too cold or something to actually have a friend. I guess he wasn't this cold as a kid, right?" You thought out loud.
"However, it's nice to see he isn't alone. I'm sure you two have a strong bond, even if he isn't the most expressive person ever."

Yamaguchi looked at you and silently gasped hearing you say those things. You were surprisingly right, and he now wondered how did you understand that much of their friendship without talking to them a lot.
"Eh.. I can finally see your eyes. They're nice." You chuckled, making him stop walking. You were at the very end of the 'row' so you both stopping didn't give any problem.
"W-what?" The shy male stuttered out. He thought he heard wrong. He must have heard wrong. Why would you compliment him of all people? That thought got thrown in the trashcan after a moment, as you moved your index finger under his chin, lifting it slightly up so that you could take a better look at his eyes.
"I was right. They're a a cute shade of brown." Moving your hand away from his face you took some steps forward, and turned around as you noticed that Yamaguchi wasn't following you.
"C'mon Yamaguchi-kun. I'm hungry~" You stated, going back to take the boy's hand and starting to lead him to the other team's members. The thought of Kai almost gone, while some hunger appeared on your part. Thinking about the food you were finally going to taste and trying to imagine his flavour, you completely missed the bright shade of red that got on Yamaguchi's cheeks, together with an happy smile.
Above all, you missed the envious stares given by the same players you thought were way more far away.

As soon as you reached your destination Daichi spoke up:
"This is the sh-" he wasn't able to end his sentence, since someone ran in front of him and into the store.
"Was it me or..?" He asked with wide eyes to the team.
Meanwhile, you were the someone that swiftly entered the shop. Having one thought in mind you did your best to reach the speed of the light. You grabbed a whole lot of nikumans, somehow threw the exact amount of money you had to pay to whoever was the cashier and ran out the shop. Taking one of them and biting it, now your free arm was lifting the bag of food.

Everyone turned to look at you.
"Yo." You mumbled, eating your nikuman.
Then, you took three of the treats out and threw the bag at Daichi that luckily saved it.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Dwarf While Trapped in a Dungeon Full of Spiders
Thousands of years ago, mankind would honor their dead and their journey to the afterlife through the process of mummification. The elaborate tombs and burial rituals marked our transition from hunter-gatherers to civilizations and empires. However, it's been over 500 years since we've sent tributes to the underworld, and now the underworld, or whatever lies beyond, has decided to send something back. Authors Note- This story is inspired by DnD, Dark Souls, Guild Wars 1, and my love of eldritch horror and dark creepy dungeons. Also completed doesn't mean end of the line. There is more Mike Sammons in the future, promise.

White Mystic Fox In A Radical World
Under the cloak of midnight, behind the faint creaking sounds of metal bars, staring into the vast beautiful garden of twinkling stars and the gentle, lovely blue moon as its host, was the only fox girl living in the desolate mountain ranges of Maryland with an unknown background. The gleaming reflection of those flickering flowers in her meekly eyes, as well as her blossoming countenance of hardships, demonstrate both her innocence and independence, which has never been tainted by the outside world. A lovely flower eventually touched after thousands of years of living in peace, some bad elements plucked that flower from its natural habitat. The white fox girl never knows what's good and bad, letting them cage her effortlessly without minding their evil sneers because of her over-the-clouds excitement. Finally, the white fox girl realizes she has been treated as nothing more than a prey item ready to be devoured. She's staring at the night skies for a long time and slowly closes her eyes once she gets that divine premonition from somewhere else. It was soothing in the mind. Her lovely smile showed acceptance with tears flowing through her pinkish cheeks, and her consciousness began fading away. Before her senses faded, that glowing angel descended, knelt in front of her, and wiped away her tears. She doesn't know how to express her gratitude to the heavens above for blessing her with a fulfilling and peaceful life. Even if it was a mere single moment, that gratitude and that smile of hers were the happiest things she could ever express. Time has passed, and the sun has risen from its slumber. The soul of the thousand-year-old white fox girl finally ascended to heaven, leaving her lifeless, cold body behind, leaning against rusted metal poles. It was the most peaceful death everyone wished for. Painless and no regrets. The men in charge of the front didn't notice anything out of the ordinary going on behind them. Well... In common perspective and also in reality, a caged dead fox girl at the back of a horse-drawn carriage is no less than a funeral procession. Book found also on wattpad and webnovel.
