《The Blood Queen》Countdown

The wedding felt like it was coming fast and I couldn't imagine how excited Charlie and Henley were getting. After talking to Charlie Henley was still nervous but excited for the biggest step of her life. Bride and Queen all in one day. Charlie spent most of the time making all these arrangements with Dominic in the office and I spent most of the time calming Henley down and helping her with all the last minute arrangements. Because everyone was so busy it made time fly by even faster. Luckily I didn't have any encounters with Dominic or Victoria the last few days. Everyday was filled with wedding bouquets and last dress fittings and decorations. Every day the set-up became more beautiful and I couldn't wait for the day. It was only three more days away. Today Henley had gone with Nathalie and Emily to pick out a flower girl dress and a little tux for the ring bearer so I spent the day half relaxing and half doing a little decorating.
The wedding was taking place in the ballroom. They wanted it outside but the weather had picked up with wind and rain lately. Henley didn't want to risk it or wait. I knew the wind wasn't the weather but her churning in her grave as her time came closer to an end.
"That's why I am supposed to be here Dominic!" Victoria screamed from around the corner and a slap resonate in the air as she struck him. She came storming around the corner into the ballroom and seconds followed before Dominic showed up in the blink of an eye and grabbed her arm.
"That's all you were here for and now that the reason is gone so are you" He says and she tries to shove him but fails. "Go back to your mate and stay away from them" he says so angry and low that the air was thick with power. The gardener helping me put together bouquets put down his scissors and motioned for us to leave. When we got up to go Dominic held up his hand for us to freeze.

"No one is leaving except Victoria" He says and she grinds her teeth as he finally releases her. She ran through the room and I felt frozen to the spot. "Watch the thorns" He mutters to me before walking out in the opposite direction and I realized I had pricked my finger on a rose needle while trimming them.
"What just happened?" The gardener mumbled and I shook my head.
"I don't want to know" I said although I did. What struck me was that Victoria had a mate but is here in the castle, or was. I tried to ignore the events but they kept playing over and over in my head. Of course they had to happen in the ballroom. It didn't take much to figure out that all Victoria wanted was the crown.
On my walk back to my room I ran into Charlie.
"Oh hey, congratulations" I say and he smiles sadly at me. "Is everything alright?" I ask and he runs a hand through his hair.
"I'm worried about Dominic. He doesn't seem like he cares about anything anymore" he says and my heart breaks a little. "I can't help him" he mumbles.
"Does he ever care Charlie? It's just who he is." I say to lighten the room but Charlie shakes his head.
"You don't know him. It's different now" Charlie says and walked away. I stood there for a moment after he had left. I wanted him and Henley to be happy. Everything would have been fine if I had never arrived.
When I walked into my room I was shocked to see Dominic in there standing by the window.
"Do you think I'm doing the right thing?" Dominic asks without turning around. "Giving up the throne that is?"

"I don't think I can answer that" I say and he laughs.
"I think you can" he says turning around to face me. "Tell me" he demands.
"Does it feel right?" I asked not knowing what else to say.
"I have been broken for three centuries. Waiting for her to come back. I searched every shadow in the world for her. What is worse than thinking she died is knowing that she is alive and won't come back to me. I don't want to be King anymore. I never really did. Tell me would she think I'm doing the right thing?" He asks stepping until he's right in front of me, close enough to touch.
"I think she'd want you to be happy" I choke out. My throat tightened as he lifted his hand and clasped the pendant. He let out a low laugh before he let it fall back down on my neck.
"If she wanted me to be happy she never would have left" he says before he disappears from my room and I let out a shaky breath.

This is made easy as nobody knows when or where the Prince will strike, or even why.As plots collide, Jawad finds himself pressured from all sides. [Conquerors Of The Delve] [Abandoned]
28-year-old Lucian was a smart and hard-worker, having put aside enough money since joining a family friend's company at the age of 16. But with the company now bankrupt, and no way of earning a scholarship, he finds himself not employed, educated or in training. While browsing the web, one thing consistently popped up, overshadowing all else. An Augmented VReality game, a dungeon delver residing inside an Open World MMORPG. A game that granted the players a hand in the game's geography, architecture and community, allowing them to build their own world. The economy was also interchangeable with real currency. Items could be freely sold and bought, with both in-game money and real-life e-cash. But what truly caught his attention were the game rules. For they allowed him to be what he wanted to be and do what he wanted to do without any real-life repercussions. Kill, Rape and Pillage. The only people who could stop you were players who possessed the ability to do so.

Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.
