. She laid on a bed with medical droids there helping her through the pain of childbirth. Next to her, holding her hand was none other than her husband.
"You can do it, baby." He whispers into her ear.
"Gaaah-!" Amara screams again as she pushes.
The medical droid insists that Amara does another push. The droid tells the pair that the baby is almost there and one more push should be the final one.
"One more push, Mar." Poe says smiling, "You can do it."
Tears sliding down her face. She shakes her head as she shakes with fear.
"I- I can't do this, Poe." Amara cries, "I- I'm scared."
Poe brushes his hand through her hair. Her hair that was soaked with sweat. She was exhausted, not on the level she had experienced through war, but a different kind of exhaustion.
Poe gives her a gentle smile, "You can do it." He says, "I'm here."
He kisses the top of her head.
Amara nods.
She pushes and screams.
A moment of silence.
And then a baby cries.
{A NEW ORDER}
out in the waiting area with Ben, Rey, Rose, Finn, Lando, and Chewbacca. Orson was nervous in the beginning, because oh how pained his mother looked, but Rey and Rose assured her that Amara will be fine.
He believed them.
They had been waiting for hours, it felt like days to Orson. Time just sort of stopped. However, after four hours of waiting the door opens and it was Poe.
He looked a mixture of exhausted but also excited. He was rubbing his hands through his hair as he sort of looked shocked.
"She's here," Poe smiles.
Everyone looks at him.
Rey smiles, "She?" She spoke.
Poe nods, "She."
Finn has a smirk, "Guess that means the baby isn't going to be named Poe, huh?" He teases.
Poe shakes his head.
Ben walks over and placed a hand on Poe's shoulder. This was just to reassure his brother-in-law that he can breathe now. The hard part was over.
"How is my sister?" Ben asks.
Poe looks at Ben, "Resting." He says, "She tried to break my hand."
Rose grins, "Sounds like her." She says.
Poe has a small grin. Ben lightly shoves Poe in a brotherly manner, which led to Poe lifting his gaze over to his brother-in-law.
"You're next, brother." Poe says teasing.
Then Poe gestures to the five month pregnant Rey Skywalker. The two Jedi glanced from one an other to Poe.
Ben glanced back at Rey, "Please don't break my hand."
Some chuckling came from the others in the waiting area.
Rey smirks, "No promises." She says.
Another burst of chuckles came from the comment.
Chewie growls and gains their attention yet again.
Everyone turned from the large Wookiee to Poe once again. Chewie had asked about the name of the baby girl.
Now Poe and Amara really had a few choices of names. They mostly had talked about a few family names in plan. Like Amara would've loved to name a son after her late father, and Poe was alright with that. Amara even said that they could name their daughter after her late mother, but Poe felt bad due to Amara not being able to honor Leia in some manner.
After all, Leia was like a mother figure to Poe, however, after much debating they had came to a perfect conclusion that seemed to make each party happy.

"Yes, she has a name." Poe says smiling.
Lando gestures at Poe, "Well, we're waiting, boy." He says.
Poe has a big smile, "Why don't you guys all come and say hello to Vira Dameron." He says.
{A NEW ORDER}
overwhelmed with gifts from friends, from politicians that Poe worked with, students of Amara's, and even tutors of Orson. Friends from the war. Friends that knew Leia well.
However, after all was said and good, it was just the core family in there. And by core family it was Poe, Amara, Orson, Finn, Ben, and Rey.
"Too bad your dad isn't here, Poe." Finn says to Poe, "He is going to be jealous he wasn't the first to hold her."
Amara looks at Finn, "I don't worry about Kes." She says, "Besides, he's going to shower little Vira with love."
Orson smiles softly.
Rey smiles at the baby, who was being held by Amara on her chest.
"I love the name choice," Rey says.
Orson looks from the baby to his mom.
"Is there something significant about that name?" Orson asks.
He didn't know. Of course he didn't know. They hadn't meant to neglect Vira's memory but things moved so fast and yet also slowed down at the same time. They had been so focused on their family that those things slipped.
Poe looks at his son, "Remember one of those photos at the wedding? Of those who were no longer with us?"
Orson nods.
Amara smiles softly at her son, "Vira was- she was a good friend. She was like a sister." She says, "She showed me the robes on the base. I relied heavily on her for support when I was younger."
Orson watches the smile fade for a moment before Amara smiles again.
"She died in battle. A noble way to go, but sad still the same. She died to insure the future of the Resistance made it off Crait and we'd stop the First Order." Amara says.
Ben awkwardly, uncomfortable, looked away. His past was his past, but it didn't erase the guilt he still felt to this day.
Orson nods, "So my baby sister is named after a hero?"
Amara reached over to Orson.
The boy walked over to his mom, and she held onto his hand with a small smile on her face. Poe stood on the other side of the hospital bed where Amara laid with the baby cradled in her arms.
"Your baby sister is named after someone very special to me," Amara says, "Sure, my friend was a hero but to me-,"
Amara moved her gaze to the baby in her arms.
"She was just a mechanic who would sneak off with me off base. She was a big sister. She was an incredible person." Amara has a sad smile, "She was someone I wished you could've met."
Orson felt her mom rub his hand with her thumb.
"When it came to naming the baby it felt right," Amara says, "Vira was- she was important to me, but Poe also shared similar memories with her. We were an annoying trio,"
Poe chuckles sadly, "Leia had to keep us three in check."
Amara smiles sadly.
Orson looks at the baby.
"You lost your sister Vira, but- but you gave me my own sister Vira." Orson says, "I will protect her, mom and dad."

Amara looks at her son and smiles widely, "I know you will."
Poe gives Orson a smile.
Everyone in the room take in the sweet moment between the Dameron family, and as time went on, each and everyone of them got the chance to hold baby Vira.
{A NEW ORDER}
A twenty-four year old shouts at her.
Thirteen years has past, and walking towards an X-Wing was twenty-four year old Orson Dameron. His light brown hair was longer, but gelled back. His light brown eyes locked on his sister.
Orson wore an orange flight suit.
He was a pilot.
Inspecting the X-Wing was thirteen year ago, about to turn fourteen, Vira Dameron. Her hair was long and brown. Her hair was naturally wavy thanks to her father. Her eyes were deep and brown, also thanks to her father. Her complexion wasn't fair like her mother's so, again, she got t from her father.
Vira had her hair in a ponytail braid down her back. Her outfit consisted of a white top, a dark brown leather jacket, light brown pants, and dark brown boots.
"Ory," Vira had her signature smirk.
Orson, who held his flight helmet in his hands, gave her a face.
"What are you doing here?" He asks, "You could get in serious trouble if you are found at the hangar."
Vira kept her smirk on, "Oh come on, big brother." She says, "I just told the rookie on duty I was looking for my big bro."
Orson rolls his eyes, "Of course."
Vira looks at him, "Would you have wanted me to lie my way here,"
Orson shakes his head, "I would have rather you stayed at the temple." He says.
Vira gives him a frown, "Cause I'm in your way."
Orson pitches the bridge of his nose and he shakes his head.
Vira sighs, "Look, I just wanted to see my big brother off. Okay?" She spoke looking away.
Orson looks at his sister. He sees the slight sadness in her big brown eyes.
He had a mission for the New Republic Navy. He wasn't sure how long he was going to be off world, but they didn't exactly give him a time frame. So it could be days, months, maybe even years.
Orson sighs, "Oh, Vee."
Vira looks at him.
"You didn't have to sneak your way here just for a private goodbye," He says.
"I didn't sneak-," Vira was cut off.
"I know, I know." He says.
Orson walks over and knelt in front of her to meet her eyes. He had both hands resting on her shoulders and he gave her a supportive smile.
"I'm not going to lie to you, Vee. I'm going to be gone probably a long time." Orson says, "I probably won't be home at times you'll need me the most."
Vira began to tear up.
"But remember, you're not alone." He assures her with a big smile, "You have mom and dad. You have Uncle Ben and Aunt Rey. You have Uncle Finn. You have our cousin Anakin,"
Vira rolls his eyes, "He's too focused on the ladies," She says.
Orson sighs, "Vee,"
Vira looks at her brother, "Look, I get along with you way more than cousin Anakin. He's just all about getting the other girls attention at the temple, it's kinda embarrassing to be known as his cousin sometimes."
The slight tone in her voice meant she didn't actually dislike her cousin, Vira was just at the age where teens were starting to be a bit focused on how everyone sees them. And like she said, Anakin is a bit full of himself and trying to get the ladies attention, it didn't mean it was working in his favor.
"Vee," Orson says, "Anakin is a dork, yes, but he's family. And family is very important to this family."
"If it's important, why don't you stay?" She asks, "You could work with dad or help mom at the temple."
Orson gives her a grin, "Little sis, I have to walk my own path. You will understand when you get older." He says, "But for now, you just keep practicing and training."
Vira looks at him.
"And maybe when I come back, you'll be a fully trained Jedi." Orson says, "Maybe have a nice boyfriend."
Vira raises her eyebrow.
"Or girlfriend," Orson grins, "Either way, you'll begin your own path by the time I get back."
"B- But I need you," Vira says.
Orson then hugs his sister.
"And you have me, Vee. Always." He tells her, "If something happens tomorrow and I need to return despite the mission, I'll leave the New Republic Navy just for you."
Vira squeeze back, "That's stupid, Ory. Don't waste your future for me."
Orson raises his eyebrow, "Oh, I thought you needed me."
They pull from the hug.
"I do, but I don't want you to give this up." Vira gestures to the X-Wing, "You and dad always loved talking about flying. You worked on repairing that Y-Wing with dad all summer. You had joining the New Republic Navy as you biggest dream."
Orson grins at her.
"Don't give it up because your kid sister doesn't want you to leave." Vira says.
Orson kept the grin, "Well, good cause I'm still going."
Vira had a small smile on her face.
"Good," She tells him, "Despite my protest, you're one of the single best pilots in the Navy, probably in the galaxy- oops, next to dad of course."
Orson chuckles, "Of course."
The two shared a laugh for a moment, and then Vira hugs Orson again tightly. She held onto her brother a little longer than he had expected, but then again he knew how difficult it was for her.
The siblings part.
"May the Force be with you, brother." Vira found herself saying to him.
Orson smiles at her, "May the Force be with you, sister."
Vira watched as her brother climbed into his X-Wing. She watched as the controls turned on, and then within moments the spacecraft left the hangar and then the planet.
Vira stood there for a moment before hearing familiar beeping at her.
"Alright, alright, R2." Vira says, "I'm going."
The astro-mech beeped at her again.
"Look if I told Orson the truth that you locked everyone out, I don't think he'd be too thrilled." She tells the droid, "Now come on. Let's go before we get arrested."
Vira begins to run.
R2 beeps at her as the droid follows after her in a fast motion.
"Well, I don't want my Senator father bailing me out." Vira says.

Overseer
