I watched him, from across the restaurant while he talked to the hostess. The way he walked, the way he talked, his body language. I studied him like a book, learning his movements, anticipating what would come next, just for this exact moment. I had been watching him unnoticed for months.
I was almost kind of sad, I was out on a hit. He was too cute and we 'developed' what he thought would be a great relationship. However, this was the price you paid when you fucked with Monet.
Even I didn't want to fuck with Monet, and she was my mother. Well, street mother, but that's besides the point. She'd fuck your whole life up, or end it, if you made even the tiniest mistake. And she made it clear to her daughters that we were no exception to that rule.
But, she's the one who trained me, along with my other sisters Destiny & Mya. So, we never made mistakes.
"Damn, Victoria." My youngest sister Mya sighed into our ear pieces that were connected. She was in the getaway car. While the oldest, Destiny, was just a booth behind me, in case anything unexpected popped off.
"Such a shame, this will be the first and last date you two have. He's so fine for a lightskin boy." She giggled in the mic.
I laughed to myself, waving him over. He was tall, 6 foot 6 inches, probably around 160 pounds. Cute mixed boy with diamond encrusted grills in his mouth. He was dripped out in Dior from head to toe, it was kinda tacky but I liked it on him.
Sigh, it was unfortunate tonight he would die.
He owed Monet half a mill and had been on the run for 6 months now. We've been chatting for 2 of those. Long enough for me to convince him to finally come back in town.
"Hey, baby." I smiled and watched as he sat down in front of me. "Wassup girl." He said grabbing my hand that was resting on the table, rubbing it with his thumb in circular motions. Such a sweet boy.
I pretended to blush and tucked a piece of hair from my wig behind my ear.

Picking up the menu, I looked intently at it to see what I was going to order. Even though it was a mission, a bitch was up for some free food anytime.
I felt his eyes gazing at me, i glanced up seeing him staring with a smirk on his face. "Just like Zo said it'd be." He mumbled under his breathe, but I didn't hear him.
"Huh? Why are you staring at me?" I faked a smile.
"Nuhin, you're just so fine in person." He just shook his head before glancing at his menu. "What you getting?"
I hummed deciding on what to order. "Probably, their steak fajitas."
"Oooo them muhfuckas sound good get me some too!" Mya cracked up in my ear piece, making me laugh a little.
"What's so funny?"
Damn Mya.
"Oh, nothing. I just thought of a tiktok I saw earlier." I brushed it off, lying. "Did you wanna see it?" I grabbed my phone thinking fast, pulling up a random video from one of the group chats I was in. Praying it was going to be funny.
*insert funny tiktok cuz I can't think rn 😂*
A video played genuinely making me laugh and him too. I internally took a sigh of relief. Victoria you almost fucked up girl.
The rest of the night we engaged in great conversation while eating our food. I was actually enjoying myself, however we were on a time crunch and it was getting late. I turned our once casual conversation into a flirtatious one, hinting that I would like for him to take me home with him so we could enjoy dessert. Agreeing, we managed to make it to a near by Motel.
Yuhck, but it'll do.
"Finna get the room, you coming?" He stepped out his Lamborghini truck. I shook my head no, shivering a little. "It's a little cold, I'll wait in here until you get the key and everything."
He nodded his head before shutting the door, and heading towards the little booth that held the attendant.
The truth is, I didn't want to go with him to get the key because I didn't need any witnesses to know I was here.

"I scoped out the place, the only camera is on the very end of each level by the stairs. Keep your head down when you walk by it." Destiny spoke in the ear piece. "When you're ready we're in the back, by the sign."
"Gotcha."
After, 5 minutes he came back to get me. We made our way to the room, I made sure I held my head down pretending to text on my phone as we passed the cameras.
We started to make out and as his hands reached my neck causing me to quickly back away. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just need to um freshen up." Grabbing my purse I made my way to the bathroom.
Even though this wasn't my first time, it always felt like it was. I was always so nervous about the act. No one could ever get used to killing, and if you do you're crazy.
I looked in my purse making sure I had my glock in it, adding the silencer too it and removing it off safety.
Sighing, I mentally prepared myself for what I was about to do. I texted my sisters the room number just in case something popped off before dusting off my outfit, and looking into the dusty ass mirror. I reapplied some lipgloss, rubbing my lips together so it would spread and stuffed the gun back in my bag.
Walking out the door I instantly froze, seeing he had a gun pointed at me. I've had many guns pointed in front of my face before but never unexpectedly.
To say I was scared shitless was an understatement. The way my heart was pounding I'm sure he could hear my heartbeat through my chest.
I coughed twice then sniffed my nose. To let my sisters know I was in trouble.
"On the way." Destiny spoke. "Stall him."
"Wh-why. Do you have a gun?" I held my hands up.
"Get on the fucking bed." He laughed, shaking his head making his curls bounce.
I had to let him believe he had control, so I did as told. Making sure to never turn my back on him I scooted on the bed.
"Was this your plan the whole time? To-to hurt me? Melo, I- I thought we built a genuine connection." I faked sniffling, trying my hardest to pretend.
"Shut up bitch." He cocked his gun.
"You think I didn't see that fucking ear piece when you tucked your hair?" He yelled ripping it out my ear before throwing it on the ground and stepping on it, making sure to twist his foot to crush every bit of it.
"You a fucking rookie, who sent you?" His eyebrows furrowed as he glared at me. I watched as his lip twitched in anger as I wouldn't respond.
Through gritted teeth he asked me again, "who sent you bitch?" He held the gun to my head, he bent down so we were face to face.
Opening my mouth to speak, a hard knock on the door surprised us both but, made him jerk away. He passed back in forth between the tiny room erratically, mumbling profanities under his breath.
"This your back up?" He walked to me again placing the gun on the side of my head, while grabbing me up by my neck and kissing me. Laughing as he pulled away. "I should fucking kill you right now."
I remained silent, staring into his eyes trying to read if he was about it or not. He was irrational, he could do anything at any moment. Almost as if he was schizophrenic. But he wasn't.
He was scared.
The knock was audible again, this time louder and harder.
"FUCK!" He yelled out, again.
He removed the gun from my head and lifted his gun to the door, he looked at me and smiled before pulling the trigger, firing multiple rounds through the door. A penetrating scream filled the air shortly before falling silent.
Did my mistake just get my sister killed?
He turned towards me, with hatred written all over his face. My heart pounded out of my chest as the adrenaline from the situation finally pulsed through my body.

Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
