"Babe." I mumbled as Colby slept peacefully next to me. His arm was draped over my waist, which I wasn't mad about but I needed to go shower. Today we had to go to the police station so I could identify Daisy.

"Babyyyy." I sang then carefully turned over so I would be facing him.

I smiled at his sleeping face, since he looked so peaceful. His eyelashes were casting small shadows onto his cheeks as a slight smile played in his lips.

I watched him for just a second then put my hand on his cheek and kissed him. It only took a second for Colby to register what was happening since he pulled my waist closer to him as he grinned against my lips.

I pulled away then looked into his sleepy eyes. "We have to get ready, babe." I said quietly as I brushed his curly hair from his forehead. "Five more minutes." He said with a gravely voice as I chuckled.

"I need to shower. If you want to sleep I can try and do it by myself." I said as he rubbed his eyes. "No, I'm up. I'm up." He said but wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer.

"You're doing a great job at being up." I said with a giggle then wrapped my arms around his neck, lacing my fingers through his hair.

"You're beautiful." Colby mumbled as he kissed my scar. "Shut up." I said with a laugh as I kissed his head then tried to roll out of bed.

Colby actually let me go so I could carefully get out of bed. I went to stand up but my chest was hurting a lot since I haven't gotten to take any pain killers today. "Can you hand me my pill bottle?" I asked and put my hand on my chest.

"Yeah." Colby said then stood up and grabbed the little orange bottle that was in my nightstand drawer. "This shit hurts." I mumbled as he poured a pill into my palm. "I'm sorry, baby." He said as I took the pill.

"It's okay, will you sit with me while I shower?" I asked as I grabbed my towel and a change of clothes. "Of course." He said then walked towards the bathroom.

When we got in there Colby sat on the ground leaning against the tub as I got in. "Can I just join you? We're late." He said with a laugh as I giggled. "If you want to." I said as I heard him pulling his clothes off.

When he got into the shower I giggled and handed him my shampoo. "Hi." I said as took it and smiled at me. "Hi." He said simply then leaned down and pressed a kiss on my lips.

I smiled and brought my hands to his cheeks. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach intensifying as he wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his hands on my ass.

"We can't." I mumbled against his lips as my chest ached. "Soon." Colby said as he pulled away and started washing his hair.

We finished up our shower then got ready for our trip to the police station. I'm would be lying if I said I was excited about going to identify Daisy. It still didn't feel real that she literally tried to kill me.

I couldn't really remember much from the interaction just before she shot me. I guess my brain decided I didn't need to know what happened.

When we pulled up to the police station Colby parked the car then looked at me. "Are you sure you're ready for this?" He asked as I chewed on my lip. "Not really." I mumbled as he leaned over a cupped my cheek.

"I'm right here with you. It's gonna be okay." He said as I nodded and reached for my door handle.

As I got out of the car I could feel the nerves picking up. I knew the stitches in my heart were mostly healed but I was scared they would rupture just by how fast my heart was beating.

I grabbed Colby's hand as he walked beside me. When we walked inside there was a desk with a petite blonde woman sitting at it.

"How may I help you?" She asked with a warm smile as Colby squeezed my hand. "I'm here to identify a criminal." I said, hating the way those words felt coming out of my mouth.

"Oh! Are you Violet?" She asked as I nodded. "Okay! Yeah, go ahead and wait over there, Officer Gaines will be right with you." She said then pointed towards the little waiting area.

We walked over and sat down, "How are you feeling?" Colby asked as he massaged my hand gently. "It feels weird. I'm nervous but I also feel totally fine...I don't know." I mumbled as I brought my free hand to my chest, tracing the large scar that was still healing.

"I think you'll feel better once this is over and put to rest." He said and turned to kiss my head. "Do you think I'll have to go to court for this?" I asked quietly as he shrugged. "They mentioned you might have to." Colby said as I sighed.

"Violet?" An officer asked as he came over to us. "Thats me." I said and stood up with the help of Colby. I hated that my body was still a little weak but we were working on it.

"Come with me." Officer Gaines said as he opened a door. "Are you getting flashbacks?" I mumbled to Colby as he snorted. "Shut the fuck up." He said and nudged my shoulder as we walked back to the lineup room.

I immediately felt a little more nervous as we walked behind the little desk. "Ready for this?" Officer Gaines asked as Colby took my hand. "Yeah." I said quietly as he nodded and leaned towards the microphone that was on the desk.

"Okay, bring them in." He said as the lights turned on and a lineup of people came into the room. I scanned the faces until my eyes met Daisy's.

I felt my chest tighten as her eyes turned hateful. I was locked in her gaze as memories flooded my brain.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as my heart pounded against my chest.

"I warned you multiple times. Why didn't you listen?"

"What are you talking about?"

"The mannequin head..the paint..don't act fucking dumb."

"That was really you?"

"Of course it was me."

"You're psychotic."

"I wouldn't do that." Daisy said as I heard the clicking sound of a gun.

I felt someone shaking me slightly, but I couldn't look away from Daisy's hateful stare. I couldn't break the trance she had on me.

"Turn around, Violet." Daisy said as I tensed up and turned around. "Why are you doing this?" I whispered as fear spread throughout my body, seeing my ex best friend standing in front of me, holding a gun in my face.

"Don't do this, Dais. You don't want to do this."

"You ruined my life. I never wanted to move. I never wanted to leave my mom and leave Ohio but your selfish ass made me."

"My mom wouldn't let your psychotic ass move across the country alone! She made me go with you! I never even liked you that much! I just felt bad for you because nobody liked you!"

"Vi...are you okay?" Colby asked as I felt my chest ache and my hands shake. I wanted to look away from Daisy but I couldn't as she clenched her jaw, looking at me as if I never meant anything to her.

"I...I didn't mean to ruin your life."

"You've always been so selfish. You didn't even notice that you were ruining me."

"Daisy..please..I'm sorry...I'll..I'll stop dating him.

I'll move out. I'll do whatever you want."

"It's too late for that, Violet. It's too late."

"Have fun in hell."

I collapsed to my knees as the feeling of the bullet going into my chest filled my brain. "Violet!" Colby gasped out as he tried to catch me. I kept my eyes on Daisy as a sly smirk formed on her lips.

"Breathe, V. Breathe. You're okay." Colby cooed as I felt my chest ache so intensely I thought I had gotten shot again. Officer Gaines turned the lights off so I couldn't see Daisy anymore as Colby held me tightly.

It took a minute to calm down fully as Colby rubbed my hair down gently. "It was number 2. That was Daisy." I whispered as Officer Gaines nodded and walked to the microphone. "Get them out of here." He said as Colby kissed my head.

"I'm okay." I mumbled as I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "What happened?" He asked as I attempted to stand up. "I don't know. I just...freaked out. I'm okay, baby." I said then brought my hand to his cheek after he helped me stand.

"Her court date is in a week, would you be willing to make a statement?" Officer Gaines asked as I shook my head. "I don't know." I mumbled as Colby wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Understandable, just let me know if you decide you want to do it. Even being there might give you a peace of mind." He said as I nodded. "I'll think about it." I mumbled as we walked back out to the lobby.

I was still feeling a little weird about this whole situation. It didn't feel real that this was going on when 6 months ago we were the best of friends. We were inseparable.

Some things change, I guess.
