"Alright, where's the weed." Ki said as we walked to our Uber. "Relax, let's get to the hotel then we can talk about drugs." I said and handed her the breakfast bagel I got for her. "You got me food?!" She asked and took it from me.
"Yeah, I thought you'd be hungry." I said as we got to the Uber. "Violet Richards you know the way to my heart!" She said then hugged me. "Yeah yeah yeah." I said then opened the trunk of the car.
We threw our bags in then got in the backseat. I felt myself getting a little emotional as we drove. It honestly was so beautiful here.
"Why did you ever leave this place, it's gorgeous." Ki said as I sighed. "Love makes you do crazy things." I said then twisted my rings nervously. "Have you talked to him?" She asked as she took a bite of her food.
"I did. It was kind of an accident. I went to my parents grave and just kinda called him." I said quietly. "Aw babes...what did you say?" She asked.
"I told him that it's gonna take a while for me to get over what I saw but that I loved him." I said and looked down to my lap. "What did he say?" She asked as I shrugged.
"He said he loved me too and that he doesn't expect me to get over it. He was sweet and understanding which only makes this harder." I said with a sigh.
"What are you gonna do?" She asked as I shrugged. "I don't know. Hopefully forget about it for the next couple days. I'm sick of being this sad." I said as she reached over and took my hand. "Yeah, we won't talk about it anymore." She said as the Uber driver dropped us off at our hotel.
We got out of the car then got checked into the hotel. "This place is sick." Ki said as we walked into our room. "Yeah. I had a couple points from my credit card that I put towards this so you're welcome." I said as she smiled and hugged me.
"Thank youuuuuu!" She squeeled as I laughed. "You're such a goof." I said then pushed her off of me playfully.
"I know you just ate but did you want to come to the diner with me?" I asked as I pulled a sweatshirt over my head. "Oh hell yeah, I can always eat more food that's for sure." She said and stood up. "Alright great, we'll leave in ten minutes." I said then went into the bathroom so I could get ready.

I seriously looked BUSTED so I did a full face of makeup so nobody would ask me why I looked the way I did. I guess they would possibly question why I was wearing a full face of makeup but I could explain that easier.
"Damn! You look hot!" Ki said when I walked out of the bathroom. "Why thank you." I said and bowed causing her to laugh.
She got ready then we made our way to the diner. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest again. I didn't know why I was always so nervous now but it was starting to annoy me. I used to be much more confident. I needed to get that back.
We pulled up to the diner then got out of the car. "Did you have any hot coworkers?" Ki asked as we got out of the car. "Uh, well I worked with this guy named Jarrod but he was in love with me and turned out to be kind of an asshole but he's not ugly." I said as she laughed.
"Perfect, just my type." She said as I opened the door. I felt a wave of nostalgia hit me as we walked into the restaurant.
"Violet?!" Regina squealed as we came into her view. "Hey!" I said and opened my arms as she came running over. "What are you doing here?!" She asked and gave me a big hug. "Just came for a visit. How are you doing?" I asked.
"I'm good! How are you? How's LA? Who's this?" She asked and gestured to Ki. "Oh! This is my friend Ki. Ki, this is Regina." I said and gestured to her.
"Nice to meet you." She said with a wide smile as Regina grabbed two menus. "Nice to meet you, too. Let's get you guys a booth!" She said excitedly then lead us into the dining room.
As we walked to the booth we ran into Jarrod who was in the dining room. "Violet?" He asked as a huge smile bloomed on his face. "Hi, Jarrod." I said with a small smile as he opened his arms for a hug.
"It's so nice to see you! What are you doing here?" He asked as I hugged him back. "Just came for a visit with my friend Ki." I said and gestured to her.
"Hey, nice to meet you." He said with a grin as she smiled. "Nice to meet you, too." She said as we walked to the booth.

"So how's LA treating you?" Jarrod asked as we slid into the booth. "Umm...it's been good. It's really different than here." I said and looked down at the menu in front of me.
"I bet, what about you? Are you from LA?" Jarrod asked Ki as she twirled her hair. "No, I'm from West Virginia, I was just visiting our dear Violet in LA." She said as he narrowed his eyes. "And you just decided to come to Colorado in the middle of your LA trip?" He asked suspiciously.
"Yep." I answered for her as he raised his brows. "You and Colby broke up didn't you?" He asked as my heart seized in my chest. "That's none of your business." I said then looked down at the menu.
"Alright, okay. I'll go get you some water." He said then walked away. "You're right, he's cute but obsessed with you." Ki said as I laughed. "Right." I said then looked around the familiar diner.
I was immediately brought back to the time when Colby sat here while I was working. We were sitting in the booth next to the one he sat in. I remember being so happy that he was there and wanted to visit me at work, but right now it made me sad to think about.
Everything just reminded me of him.
"Violet." Ki said and shook my hand from across the table. "Sorry." I mumbled then looked down. "It's okay, what were you thinking about?" She asked quietly. "Him." I whispered as my voice cracked.
"Oh, honey bun." She breathed out and took my hand. "It's okay, I'm okay. Let's just enjoy our breakfast." I said as Jarrod came back.
"So, what can I get for you beautiful ladies?" He asked and pulled his notebook out. "Um...is Tony working?" I asked as he grinned. "Yeah, you want his special?" He asked as I nodded.
"What's that?" Ki asked as I handed my menu to Jarrod. "Delicious." I said as she nodded. "Sold. Can I have that too?" She asked as Jarrod nodded. "You got it. It'll be out soon." He said then walked away.
"So what else should we do while we are here?" Ki asked as I shrugged. "Well. We are only here for two days so I was thinking we could go on a hike? Smoke some weed, just chill." I said as she grinned.
"That sounds great." She said with a nod. "Oh! We also need to go to this restaurant that Daisy and I always used to go to." I said as her nose scrunched. "Fuckin petunia." She grumbled causing me to laugh. "The food is good, and you can meet Chad!" I said as her face perked up.
"Is Chad hot?" She asked causing me to laugh. "Chad is gay. But I think you'll love him." I said as Jarrod came over with our food. "I bet. I love gay people." She said as Jarrod set our food down.
"This looks amazing. Thanks, J." I said causing him to grin. "You're welcome, V. Let me know if you need anything." He said then walked away.
"That boy has it BAD for you." She remarked as we started eating. "Yeah, we are just friends though." I said as Tony came over.
"Well look who it is." He said as I stood up to give him a hug. "Hey Tony! How are you doing?" I asked then sat back down. "Good, we miss you here." He said as I frowned slightly. "I miss you guys, too. And I missed this food! You really outdid yourself." I said and gestured to the food in front of me.
"What can I say I do my best work for my favorite flower." He said causing me to laugh. "Well I really appreciate it." I said then took a bite of food.
"So what brings you back?" Tony asked. "Nothing, just wanted to visit." I said with a smile. "Well you should come visit more often, we love having you around." He said then patted my shoulder. "I gotta get back to work now though, it was nice to see you." He said then waved. "Nice to see you too!" I said as he started to walk away.
"You're so popular." Ki said as I laughed. "Yeah, what can I say? I was the coolest person who worked here." I said causing her to roll her eyes. "You're a loser." She said with a laugh.
"Yep. That's me." I said then stuck my tongue out at her.
I was happy that she decided to come back here with me. It was going to be easier to distract myself from my breaking heart when she was here with me.
I was so grateful for her.
