We finished up our breakfast at the dinner then went back to the hotel so we could get ready to go on a hike.
"Your old coworkers were nice." Ki said as we got changed. "Yeah, I kinda miss them." I said then started to braid my hair. "Would you ever move back here?" She asked as I chewed my lip.
"I don't know. I mean I would love to of course, but I feel like it just wouldn't be the same as before. The time has passed for me to be here." I explained.
"I get that. Maybe you'll change your mind after this hike though, I'm so excited!" Ki squealed as I finished my braids. "Me too, I've missed the views so much." I said with a sigh then stood up.
"Ready?" I asked and turned to her. "Ready." She said then held her hand out to me. I laughed then took it and let her lead me out of the room.
I called the Uber as we made our way down to the lobby. "It's been forever since I have exercised so don't judge me." Ki said as we got into the Uber.
"I couldn't possibly judge you, especially after what you've seen from me the past couple days." I said as we started to drive.
"Oh shut up, you know I don't mind. I am gonna kick hella ass when we get back to LA." She said causing me to laugh. "Who's ass?" I asked and scrunched my brow. "Either Colby's or dog faces, whoever I see first." She said, causing me to laugh.
"Don't kick Colby's ass. You can kick dog face's ass though, I will allow that." I said then looked out the window.
We stopped at the dispensary so we could get some weed, then made our way to the hiking trail.
"Holy shit, it's already so beautiful." Ki said with a smile as she looked up at the sky. "Yeah, it really never gets old." I said then breathed a sigh. I felt totally at peace as the wind hit my skin.
We spent the next hour or two hiking all the way to the top of the hiking trail. There was a huge drop off which showcased the mountains in front of us in the most beautiful way possible.
"Holy shit." Ki breathed out as my eyes watered, "I really missed this view." I said then sat on the edge of the cliff, letting my feet dangle.
"Now let's get stoney baloney!" Ki said as I laughed and pulled out the bag which had our weed in it.

We sat and smoked on the top of the mountain, which was the most picture perfect sight I had ever seen.
"This is fucking amazing." Ki breathed out with a giggle as my phone started ringing. "Hey Sam." I answered then closed my eyes and leaned back so I could look at the sky.
"Hey, V. How are you doing?" He asked as I reached up and traced the clouds with my finger. "I'm good. I'm on the top of a mountain. How are you?" I giggled out as he breathed a laugh. "I'm good, I didn't know there were mountains in Ohio." He said as Ki laid back next to me.
"I'm in Colorado with Ki now." I explained as he hummed. "That's good, are you high?" He asked causing me to giggle. "Yep. Hey, can you do me a favor?" I asked and started twirling the end of my braid with my fingers.
"Yeah, what's up?" He asked. "Can you start packing some of my stuff up?" I asked as Ki looked over at me with concern on her face. "Why? Are you leaving again?" He asked with concern in his tone. "I don't know. I just know I can't stay there when I get back." I said with a sigh. "When do you get back?" He asked as I sat up again.
"Tomorrow night." I mumbled. "Okay. You know you can still stay here, right? It won't be awkward or anything." He said as I shook my head. "No, it will. I don't know where I'm gonna go but...I'm too high to even try to figure it out." I said as he sighed.
"Okay. I'll pack some of your stuff but before you leave you have to tell me where you're going, okay?" He asked as I nodded. "Yep. I gotta go. I'm hungry and starting to sober up again." I said then rubbed my chest with my hand.
"Okay, V. Just be careful, okay?" He asked as I started to stand up. "Okay." I said and brushed the dirt off of me.
I hung up the phone then looked at Ki. "Wanna get some food?" I asked as she looked at me with a little bit of concern still. I could tell she was contemplating whether she wanted to pry or not, but she just shook her head and smiled. "Hell yeah. We need to smoke more though." She said then stood up.
"We can when we get down from here." I said then started walking down the path.

I found my mind drifting off as we walked silently. I didn't necessarily know what I was doing with my life at this point. I had so many options of what I could do and where I could go but I didn't know where to start.
I realized that I've been doing things for other people for the past couple years. I moved to Colorado to try and live my parents dreams, then I moved to LA to be with Colby.
I didn't know where I wanted to be anymore.
I didn't know myself.
When we got to the parking lot we smoked another blunt then called for an Uber so we could go to visit Chad. I was really excited to see him, since I knew he would give me the best advice.
"What are you thinking about?" Ki asked as we drove to the restaurant. "Why the rainbow is in the order it's in." I lied, not wanting to lose my high again, talking about real life shit.
"Brooo....that's a good question." She said then drifted off into her own little world. I laughed then looked out the window, basking in the beautiful scenery.
When we got to the restaurant we got out of the car. I felt a huge wave of nostalgia hit as I looked at the building. "I can't wait to fuck up some mozzarella sticks." Ki said as I groaned. "That sounds so good." I said then linked my arm through here and walked in.
"Is that my favorite flower!?" Chad asked as his jaw dropped. "In the flesh!" I said with a giggle as he opened his arms to hug me. "Oh shit, girl you smell so loud." He said as I laughed. "When in Colorado." I said with a shrug then turned to Ki. "Chad, this is Ki. She's the baddest bitch I know." I said as he reached his hand out to shake hers.
"Hurtful that I'm not the baddest bitch but it's nice to meet you!" Chad said as Ki smiled. "We can both be the baddest bitches." She said as Chad started leading us to his section.
"So what brings you back to Colorado?" Chad asked as I shrugged. "Needed to get away. " I said with a sigh. "And you didn't bring your sex god boyfriend?" He asked as my heart fell. "We broke up." I said then chewed on my lip.
"Wait, really? You were head over heals for him though. What happened?" He asked in shock. "It's a long story.." I said as he frowned. "Well you know I love long stories, let me get you guys some beers or something." He said as Ki perked up. "Yes." She said as he scrunched his nose and walked away.
"He knows what beer is the best, that's what he'll bring." I said as she looked down at the menu. "Fuck. I'm too high for this. Will you order for me?" She asked then dropped the menu on the table.
"Yeah, I gotchu." I said as Chad came back with two beers. "Can we get mozzarella sticks? Then I start telling you the story?" I asked as he laughed. "Bitch they are already in. I know you too well, especially when you're high and sad." He said causing me to grin. "I love you." I said as he sat in the booth next to me.
"Spill." He said as Ki happily drank her beer. I sighed then went into detail about what had happened, all the way to the phone call I had with him yesterday.
"So...you didn't really break up?" He asked as I shrugged. "We kinda did. I don't know it's so complicated." I mumbled as another waitress brought over the mozzarella sticks.
"Well it sounds like a big misunderstanding. You both love eachother right?" He asked as I took a bite of the fried cheese. "Yeah, I guess." I said with a shrug.
"Then maybe try to work things out." He said as I nodded. I knew he was right, and that everyone was right that I should just stop being dramatic and forgive him, but something was holding me back.
"I just don't know what I want anymore. I feel like I've been just doing things to please others." I admitted.
"Well then I think you should listen to your heart. Whatever it's trying to tell you, is probably what you should do. Your heart is never wrong." He said as I sighed. "You're right." I said then handed him the menu.
"I'll have my regular, and Ki here will have a flatbread pizza, your choice of which one." I said as her face lit up. "Fuck yeah! I love pizza." She said causing me to giggle.
Chad went off to put our order in but my mind was still stuck on what he said.
He was right. I just had to listen to my heart.
And I was going to.
