Later on that day, I woke up in the arms of my best friend. The sun was just setting which meant I had slept all day but that wasn't enough. I wished I slept all my life, never to see light again because I was afraid of facing reality.

I refused to leave the room for dinner so it was brought to me. Cad stayed with me in his room until later when Jemima said I had to go to my room. I tried to refuse to share a room with Elijah but it didn't help. She insisted I moved in there and that it was for the best.

So that night I slept in Elijah's room and it wasn't a surprise that he didn't spend the night there.

The next day, I met Darius who told me not to give up on Elijah yet. He had issues and all I had to do was know him better to understand him. I was told I had to take lessons from Jemima. The lessons were about what I needed to know about this pack because I am to be Luna beside Elijah, leading the pack.

I began my lessons and did my best to know everything and understand it all. I want to be good and not embarrass my mate in the future. I came to know that the Kahuna pack is divided in five. Each division is led by an Alpha. Alpha Cephas is Alpha of Alphas, making him the highest above all five Alphas. Elijah will be Alpha of Alphas once I am 18, so the pressure of being the perfect mate is too much. Elijah has never talked to me since that breakfast incident even though we share a room.

His room is more of an apartment. It has its own kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and the bedroom which also have a bathroom of its own. I only go down for dinner on Wednesday and Sunday. The other days I prepare my own food in Elijah's room, 'our room'. I still keep food for him though he never eats anything. He even sleeps on the couch in the living room and only comes for clothes in the bedroom.

Despite the lack of communication between us, I have managed to gather some information about him. He is 6 years older than me and he got his jet black hair and forest green eyes from his grandfather, Darius's father. He is also named after his grandfather. He loves children so much which made me worry I won't be giving him any. Jemima said it was fine that I couldn't because am still his true mate so he will love me the same.

It's been two weeks and some days since I came to live here. I spent it all busy with the lessons and getting to know the Cephas family. Jemima was from another pack which I don't know the name for it. Keziah is mated to one of the division Alphas, Alpha Joe Herman. They have one child and another on the way. Marah is not yet mated and is very outgoing. So far we are good friends.

Darius prepared a party, more of a ceremony, to welcome me and Cad in the pack and also introduce me as Elijah's mate to the pack. The party is due tomorrow. Today, we spent the whole day making final preparations to make the party perfect. After all we did, I was tired and went straight to bed.

I didn't cook for Elijah since it's been three days since I last saw him. Darius said he left for a business meeting and will be back tomorrow in time for the party. I just hope he will be present and accepts me as his mate in front of the pack.

The next day, I inhale a huge breath as I open my eyes. I'm barely awake but breathing in my mate's scent has been something I enjoy doing the minute I woke up for the past weeks. His scent smells so satisfying, the smell of rain. I groan as I stretch my muscles before making way to the bathroom. I take my time in there, making sure I'm presentable and leave for the kitchen after getting dressed in some shorts. I prepare breakfast: eggs and sausages, then sit on the couch. I decide on watching music videos than a TV show to avoid unnecessary attachments since I'll be leaving in a few.

Cad says suddenly through the link.

I ask.

He pauses and I smirk.

Okay, wait for it.

he doesn't finish it.

Here it comes.

He shouts angrily and I laugh.

"~Calm down Cad, I'm not in bed. I just finished having breakfast and thought it was still morning. Guess I slept all day again.~" I stand from the couch and approach the window in the bedroom. Pushing the curtains aside, it reveals the dark sky with a few stars here and there.

He sighs and I feel him cut the link off. Soon there is a knock and I go to open the door for him. He looks stunning and is holding some clothing which I am certain are for me.

"Take a picture Kacy, it will last long." He pushes by me and makes his way inside the room.

"No, thank you. So what brings you to my room?" I ask.

"You are asking as if you don't know." He scoffs then hands me the clothes. "This is you're outfit, be fast and make yourself irresistible in that." He demands pushing me in the bathroom and I chuckle at his wording.

I get ready real quick and join Cad in the sitting room. He motions I go round in front of him and with a nod he shows his satisfaction with my look.

"Let's go Kacy, were late thanks to you."

I don't comment but follow his lead down the stairs to the hall attached to the pack house. Before we reach there, we are joined by Keziah and Marah. Together we enter the crowded hall.

"Come meet Joe first Kacper." I hear Keziah say, so I follow in her direction. We reach a man and they embrace accompanied by a small kiss on the lip. They turn to me smiling.

"This is Alpha Joe Herman, my true mate. Joe, this is Kacper Magnolia, Elijah's true mate." She introduces us.

We shake hands and he smiles down at me. Yes 'down at me' since am short compared to him but that's expected of an Alpha.

"It's nice to meet you, future Luna."

"I'm fine with just Kacper and it's nice to meet you too Alpha Herman."

"You can call me Joe, welcome to the family." He smiles and then hugs me.

"Thank you, Joe, it's an honor."

We talk for a bit before I'm dragged away by Keziah to be introduced to more of the relatives and friends present at the party. I look around and don't see any sign of Elijah being here. I wonder if he will come or not. I need to find Darius.

Walking around, I greet many people present and still search for Darius. Instead I find Jemima and I stop to ask her husband's whereabouts.

"It's good you came by Kacper, I want to introduce you to my former pack members. This is Layton and his mate Chris." She announces.

I look at the two males before me. They are very stunning and I'm glad Chris is my height. His mate Layton is tall just like how most dominant males are.

"Hello Kacper, we are honored to meet you." Layton greets.

"No, the honor is mine to meet some of the members of Jemima's pack. It's nice to meet you." I respond.

That's the start of conversation between me and the mated couple. We talk about so many things that I even forgot about Darius's search. That is until he finds me there so I excuse myself and go to talk to Darius.

"It's good I found you on time. Let's go introduce you to the division Alphas." He says and looks around.

"What?" I ask as I look around myself.

"It's strange seeing you without your friend, where is he?"

"I think he is with Marah, we separated once Keziah took me to meet his mate."

"So that means four Alphas to meet?"

"Yes, the remaining four. But where is Elijah? He should be here by now." I worriedly ask.

He sighs and shakes his head. "He should be here by now and he will still be here soon enough. Now let's go."

I follow him to the other side of the room. We go to a certain table occupied by five men. Once we reach it, Darius greets them all and they talk for a bit. Soon they all turn to me. I stand straight with head held high, not showing any submission sign as I'm a soon to be Luna of Lunas and even though I pull it off, it's not easy.

"This is Kacper Kali Magnolia, son of Alpha Magnolia of the Crescent Moon pack." He announces looking at the Alphas. Then he turns to me. "Kacper, this is Alpha Joe Herman and I am sure you two already met. This is Alpha Jonathan Parker, Alpha Owen Jonas, Alpha Innocent Matthews, and representative of Alpha Michael White, Beta Daniel Wilcox." He points to each owner of the name he introduces.

Before I reply, I feel Cad approaching so I look to my left just in time for him to reach us. He bows his head showing respect and stands behind me.

"And that is Cadmael Zurich." Darius finishes.

Both Alphas stands before us.

"Welcome Kacper Magnolia and Cadmael Zurich to the Kahuna pack." They both say at the same time accepting us in the pack. It wasn't necessary for all Alphas to be present when accepting a member in the pack, Darius just wanted to introduce me to his fellow Alphas and so I had to wait until then.

We; Cad and I, both bows showing our gratefulness for our acceptance in the pack.

I smile hearing Marah say through the pack link present to us now.

I address her just how she has been asking I do this past week.

I smile, happy to feel a belonging now that I was an official member of my mate's pack. However, my smile soon dies, murdered by the sight before me.

Elijah.

Attached to his side is a female, possibly submissive, dressed in revealing clothes, as if she's in a total different place because that isn't an appropriate dressing to this party. He has his arm around her waist and is making his way here.

He stands before us all, and greets all the Alphas except me and Cad. He looks as if he didn't even see us here. He turns to Darius and smiles.

"Father, meet my girlfriend, Joyce Cage."

The whole room falls in silence once the word girlfriend is announced. My own heart beats loudly that I'm sure everyone hears it clearly.

Then something snaps in me and I see red.

Girlfriend?

What the hell?
