《The Secret Pack》Chapter Seven

I take a look in the mirror admiring my new hair style. I've cut my hair, needing something to portray some changes. Once I'm satisfied, I leave the bathroom and enter the guest room. I see Chris busy packing my clothes in the duffle bag I had brought with me.
"Hey," I greet and he turns and smiles at me.
"Hey, I just thought I should help you pack for tomorrow." He explains pausing the packing a bit but proceeds once I give him a nod.
"I'm glad you thought of helping. Are the children asleep already?" I ask because most of the times like this, he usually gives them a bath.
Like I promised Kel on that day, I left the pack house the same night. Luckily I was able to catch up with Chris and his mate, Layton. They are the couple I was introduced to by Jemima, ones from her ex pack. I just knew they would help me in this situation, so I asked them if I could stay with them for a while.
"I left them with Layton since he is back early today." He gives out a tired sigh, and sits on the bed.
It must be tiring looking after three kids alone most times. Layton and Chris have children, a boy and twin girls. The girls are Martha and Maria; they are new borne only 6 months old. Martin is the big boy at 5 years old. The kids are a mixture of both their parents which I found it odd but never asked. I was told they used a certain omega in their pack to carry the baby and now they have three. I guess they might have used someone with familiar looks as them in order for the kids to look much like them.
Chris looks after them while Layton goes to work, which leaves the poor omega tired by the end of day. Layton's job keeps him busy that it's even hard to spend time with his family. I was told he has been asking for a leave at work, in order to help raise the kids with his mate.
"You must be tired; it's been a long day. You can just leave those, I will pack the rest." I go to him and remove the remaining unpacked clothes from him.
"Its fine Kacper, I can do that for you. You're leaving after all." He says collecting the clothes from me once again and continues packing.

I've been here for a week and thought it best to return back home tomorrow. I managed to disconnect the link with the pack to avoid anyone trying to reach me. I don't know anything that has been happening back there since I left. I miss everyone and I can't wait to be home.
"Indeed I am leaving. I think it's time to face whatever I will be facing once I'm there." I sigh falling on the bed beside him.
"Things will be fine, just be strong and ready to face anything. You're his mate, I'm sure things will work out." He says, finishing packing and laying on the bed like me.
"I hope so."
"Don't worry, it will. Besides, you can always seduce him to bed if he still plays tough." I feel my face getting hot once his words registers in my mind. Chris has been saying this ever since I explained to him about me and Elijah. I don't even know how to seduce a guy so how can I just do it on Elijah? He might freak out if it's bad.
"No, please stop saying that. I don't know how to do that and I don't want him to like me just because I've made him do so. It should be done of his own free will." I say dismissing his lustful ideas.
"Still innocent as ever, I see. You just scream virgin when you say things like that. And it will not be making him like you or want you because he already does. You will only be telling him to not hold back by seducing him because that's what he is doing, holding back. He's an alpha after all and needs a pleasurable outlet of some powers." He explains.
"Well, am still not doing it."
"Okay, fine don't do it. But know that I'm always available for some advice you might need to spice up things in bed, if you ever get that far." He says with a yawn and I know he should be going to bed now. Just then, Layton knocks and then peeks inside after opening the door.
"Hey, Kacper. I've just put the kids in bed and was wondering if I can steal my mate from you." He says and looks at his mate lovingly.
Living with this couple has been fun and great. The love they show for each other is wonderful and made me wonder if Elijah and I will be like this someday.

"You can take him, we're done for tonight. He's been yawning like crazy for a while, sleep will do him good." Even if I doubt that's what they will be doing once in closed doors alone. These two are insatiable. I stand and help Chris do the same, then push him towards his mate.
"I only yawned twice and that's not a while." He scowls at me and stand by the door.
"Is that so? Pity I never noticed." I smile innocently. He scoffs at the sarcastic remark. "Anyway, I am tired too so I need to call it a night." I add looking at the couple now holding each other in the doorway.
"Okay, we'll leave now. Have a good night." Layton says and Chris gives a small wave, then they exit the room closing the door behind them.
I smile and make my way back on the bed. Lying down, I think of tomorrow and hope all to go well. Then I sleep.
***
I am now on my way back home. This morning, when I was ready to go, I said my goodbyes to the small family. It's sad I had to leave but I promised to come and visit when I could. I loved spending time with the kids and I will miss them.
Layton was driving me and we've talked a lot. During my stay at his home, we never talked much due to his busy schedule.
"So what is your pack like? You never said anything about it." I question curiously.
"It's-" he pauses thinking of something.
"Um, it's really great and fun?" He says, not sure of himself. "You can always ask Luna Jemima. I am sure she would love to tell you all about it." He adds and I just nod.
Turning in my seat, I look out the window watching the trees as we pass by, I will soon be home. I remember the night I first passed this forest and can't believe how time flies. Soon we are stopping in the driveway. I pick my bag in the back and open my door ready to leave.
"Thanks for the ride, Layton. I hope you are not too late for work." I state smiling at him.
"You're welcome and don't worry about me."
"Okay, see you then." I exit the car and waves at him as he leaves the compound. Smiling, I turn to the house and images of a week ago emerge in my mind and slowly the smile fades on my face. I don't know what awaits me inside but I hope it's all good.
I walk to the front door, thinking of knocking but deciding against it. I open the door and walk inside heading in the sitting room to find everyone seated and talking. Well, not everyone exactly, just Cad, Marah and Jemima. The first to see me is Cad who is facing the entry.
"Kacper?" He questions disbelievingly.
Marah and Jemima turns my way and they both look disbelieving I'm here. I start to get worried with the stares only for Marah to run at me and give me a big hug and this action is then followed by Jemima and Cad which makes me out of breath due to being squeezed so much.
"I'm so glad you're back, I was worried." Marah smiles.
"Where have you been?" Questions Jemima.
"What did you do to your hair?" Cad requires.
They both ask me many questions and tells me a lot but I am not even listening. Thankfully, they didn't send a search party for me because my dad assured them I was fine and that I needed some time to myself. I am not ready to talk about my disappearance now because I wish to see someone right away.
"Where is Elijah?" My words silence them all and they look at me surprised.
"What do you want him for?"
"I really need to see him." I respond to Jemima's question. She nods then smile at me.
"You can find him in his office. But you-" I don't wait for her to finish before I run in the direction of Elijah's office.
Once I am there, I stop at the door to catch my breath. I take a deep breath after making myself relax. I don't want to mess up this talk I'm about to have with him because of my tenseness. So I make myself relax enough and then knock on the door softly.
I smile once I hear footsteps and make myself ready to see my mate after all that long week. I really hope it was worth it and that Kelvin's lesson will be fruitful. Still smiling, the door opens only instead of revealing my mate, I see someone I didn't even plan on seeing now or ever. My smile vanishes in a flash leaving my heart dreading on what all this means.
