I slowly get up from bed to avoid waking Elijah. He was working late yesterday because he doesn't want to have work on his son's birthday, so he's very tired. Luckily I manage to get out of the bed and change into something presentable before leaving the bedroom to prepare breakfast for my family.

I start cooking Roman's favorite food and since it's a day before our Roman's birthday, I will let him have what he wants for breakfast. In the midst of preparing bacon, pancakes, eggs and other things, EJ joins me cooking. He wakes up early even when he was a baby, he used to wake me up so early to start the day.

"Dad we are almost done in here and I think it's a good idea to wake Roman now." EJ says and I smile at him. At first I was a bit offended to not have him call me his mother but now I just got used at it even I really expected him to at least address me as his mother but I guess dad is better than nothing.

"Yeah we should wake him up. I wonder why he isn't up yet, he is always up early. I will go check him and you should finalize things here." I say and remove the apron. It's true that Roman is always up early just not like EJ but not this late. I was so caught up in cooking that I didn't realize he slept in today.

I enter his bedroom and find him in bed still sleeping. The room is messy which says something since he doesn't like a messy room. I pick up the clothes on the floor and put them in place. I organize his shoes and dolls in necessary places. I hear a moan and I look up to him on the bed. When I don't hear anything else, I shrug and continue tidying the room. A moan sounds in the room again but this time it is followed by a groan and many more moans.

I rush to the bed and see he is sweating. I remove the blanket and move his hair that's sticking on his face but when my hand makes contact with his face, I immediately pull away. His body is hot, very hot. I shake him awake but he's too weak to keep his eyes open for long. I scream in panic at what is wrong with my baby and call for Elijah. The door opens and EJ appears and not long after his father comes in too.

"What is it babe? Is he okay?" El asks and I shake my head miserably.

"What is wrong with him?" This time EJ ask and I look from him to Roman lying on the bed and groaning now and then.

"I don't understand too. His birthday is tomorrow so why is he going in heat now?" I explain to them.

"Are you sure he's on heat? I mean, you might be mistaken and it might be only a fever."

"Do you think I'm stupid not to know when my own son is in heat or sick fever?" I yell at El and he raises his hands.

"Okay, fine. I'm sorry babe, I was just making sure." El says and I look away from him.

"Get me cold water and a towel. We should try to lessen his body heat." EJ leaves the room to get what I said and I sigh.

"I'm sorry El. It's just that I'm worried about our son. I hope his mate will not choose to ignore the mate call." I whisper and he comes to me and wraps me in his arms.

"Don't be so worried. Whoever it is will come either today or tomorrow. It depends on how long they will travel." He assures me and we stay that way until EJ comes back.

That is how I spend the day, attending to Roman. El had to leave for some meeting. Sometimes his body would cool down and he was able to eat and sit up but then it would go back to heating up. I wish I could give him the pills but it won't work on him. Nothing could work unless if it was his mate's touch. I only hope they will reach here faster and end the heat for my son because a prolonged heat is more than torture.

"How is he?" El ask when he comes home later that evening. He was away preparing all necessary things needed in expecting the visitors. Now that he's King, which makes Roman a prince, as a member of the royal wolf family, it is necessary for some other important people to witness the mating of the prince. During our mating, the five division Alphas came with him but with Roman's mating, not only will the division alphas witness the mating because they will be joined with the kings official members of the royal court.

"He's doing okay. He had all his meals just fine and the day went well. I just hope he makes it this well throughout this night." I reply with a small smile.

"He will babe, have faith." He embraces me and we stay that way for some time, just watching Roman sleep.

EJ prepares dinner and El carries Roman to the table. We eat with small talk here and there until it's time to take Roman back to bed. I'm left alone with Roman as Eli and EJ had to leave to look out for any visitors. I rest my head on his bed and hold his hand while humming a tune I sing for him when he's having trouble sleeping.

"Mama," I look up at him when he calls for me. "He's here, mate." He whispers and I look at him questioningly, not understanding what he means.

"Darling, your mate isn't here yet."

"No mama, he here!" He exclaims and I stand from the chair.

I start.

He says sternly.

I nod and rush tidying up Roman's room. I wonder who the visitors are and I'm somehow nervous. I can't let my baby in a room with a stranger, though I have to. I admire how he sensed his mate while they are that far, they've just entered our boarders. The mate bond is not strong and he wasn't supposed to sense them.

I instruct and he agrees. The windows are open which makes it easier to hear the car's approaching and the doors opening. I wait patiently for some minutes before I hear a knock on the door. I open it to find Liam on the other side.

"Luna, I greet you." I nod at his greeting and he stand aside to show someone behind him. "Alpha Elijah told me to escort the visitor here." I look at the boy who looks a bit big and wonder how old he is.

"I'm 13 years old, Luna, it's an honor to meet you. Though not to be rude, can you show me my mate's room? The mate call is becoming too much to handle." The boy says and I nod then escort him to my son. We reach the door to Roman's room and I leave him there. With a bow, he opens the door and disappears inside shutting the door. I sigh and hope all goes well.

"Alpha Elijah requested you show up at the hall to meet the visitor's escorts." Liam informs and I reluctantly leave the house, heading to the court room but not before leaving a guard outside the door.

I arrive at the courtroom which is surrounded by warriors both familiar and also foreign. I guess the visitors brought some of their warriors. The doors open for me and I walk in, spotting Elijah, I go in his direction and sit beside him. He runs a hand through my hair and kisses my cheek fondly.

"This is my mate, Kacper, the mother of my children." El announce to the visitors. "Babe, this is Alpha King, Adam Stone and his mate, Monroe Stone." I nod at him and greet the visitors. I've just seen Monroe and I don't know him but I have a feeling he's a rude guy.

"Their son, our Roman's mate is called Kenneth. We will have to wait for him to come down then we will talk what's necessary." El informs me and I nod.

El and the other Alpha have talks here and there but it's mostly silent. I didn't know there was another Alpha King and it definitely means they come from far. My mate has more packs under his rule and it's really a lot, so they have to come from somewhere really far. My thoughts are interrupted when the door to the room opens and Kenneth walks right in. He sits by his father's other side, since Monroe is on the left side.

"Where is Roman?" El asks Kenneth and he replies that Roman is sleeping.

"If I may ask Alpha Elijah, is there anything wrong with my mate?" Kenneth asks and I look at Elijah. He looks a bit angry at Kenneth and I hold his hand to calm him.

"Nothing is wrong with my son, Kenneth, our son is perfect the way he is. Do you have a problem?" El says with gritted teeth.

"I'm sorry I upset you but I didn't mean it like that." Kenneth apologies and I speak up to clear things. I explain Roman's situation to them but Monroe's words after that makes me want to rip his throat out.

"There's no way our son is mating with a broken omega. What happens if he doesn't get well even after his shift? Our son is the next Alpha King and what will he do with such a mat-"

"Shut up mother!" Kenneth yelled at Monroe as I was about to get up from my sit and jump him, causing El to hold me down. "He's my mate and I'm making the decisions here not you! So if you can't shut up, you can leave!" He added angrily.

This is definitely a different family from ours. My children can't talk to me that way but I'm glad Kenneth did that to his mother. His father doesn't say a thing as he stays quiet as if he got used to such things. Monroe grumpily stays quiet and Kenneth looks at us apologetically.

"I'm sorry about my mother. I don't think that my mate is broken and even if he was, I wouldn't reject him. I have accepted him as my mate and I only have one request." The young boy pauses and at Elijah's nod he continues. "I want to take my mate back with me, to my home."

"No!" I shout suddenly.

"Babe calm down. Let's hear the boy's reason to that request." He brings me on his lap and embraces me. He nods at Kenneth to continue.

"Our bond is strong and I think a moment ago it has just gotten stronger. I come a long way from here and I have no doubt that the long distance will affect us negatively." He explains and clung to El for some strength to get through this.

"I understand, Kenneth. But I hope you know how difficult it will be to grant that request. We can't let him go with you because, no offense, but we cannot trust our son to a stranger mate or not. Perhaps, we can find another way to sort this out." Elijah says.

The Stone's family is dismissed for the night in order for us to have a private discussion.

I stay in my sit as El discusses with the division alphas and the court officials. I don't even hear what they say as my mind focus on my baby. I don't know what will happen to him and it's a bit sad that as his mother, I don't know what to do. But one thing I know for sure is that Kenneth is right. I was healthy than how Roman is but I got affected by staying away from Elijah, maybe he got that that weakness from me.

Our distance wasn't that great but I still got affected. I can't even imagine what will happen to Roman if he stays here. I have no choice but to send my baby away. But that mother of Kenneth, I doubt if he can look after my baby properly.

"-be! Kacper!" Startled, I look at El who is shouting my name. "We lost you there babe. Did you hear anything we discussed?" He asks and I shake my head.

"I have a cousin from my father's side of the family. He's an alpha too and his pack is near where the Stone's live. To avoid sending him to his mate, I thought it better if he goes and live at my cousin's Pack. He has children and an omega too; I think it will be a good environment for Roman." Alpha Michael, Cadmael's mate, explains.

This is as better as this situation can get and I jump on the idea right away. "Are you sure he's going to accept taking in Roman?" I ask.

"Yes, Luna and I promise you he will be treated as good as here."
