《Rythian Enderbane》Chapter 6: A Mage

Zoey's POV
I watched and giggled as Rythian tried - unsuccessfully - to climb the cliff from which I had jumped. I had scaled the same cliff before, and a lot quicker than him. When he still hadn't even reached halfway after several tries, I said,
"I hope you realise how terribly you're doing," He gave a sigh "I'll show you the easiest route if you'd like!"
"No thanks, I can work it out."
He said it dismissively, but was I about to be dismissed from this conversation? No. I started it and I shall dismiss it. I smiled to myself and said,
"You're very stubborn... and independent!"
"Thank you for telling me that, it was very helpful, very helpful indeed. Please continue to tell me my faults and then follow it up with a good ol' compliment."
"Okay! You smell like a horse. But... uuuh... you eat with enthusiasm?!" I burst out laughing and so did he, meaning he fell from the rocky wall and straight on top of me. He got off of me quicker than you would have thought humanly possible.
"Aren't you going to thank me for being your human crash-mat?" I grinned, mockingly.
His forehead went light pink and I knew he was blushing.
"Yeah, thanks for the soft landing!"
I stuck out my tongue at him like a child. Then I ran over to him and touched his shoulder, saying,
"TAG! You're it!"
"Oh no you don't!"
He ran after me and we soon fell on the ground, giggling like crazed lunatics.
It was comfortable. Just lying there in the warm sand. It was calm, and quiet all around us, like the earth had fallen asleep.
"Well, I'd better get back to climbing that stupid cliff, I want some sort of structure on it by nightfall"

He stated.
"Suuuurrree. 'Cause THAT'S going to happen."
"Yeah, it is."
He studied the cliff for a moment, then climbed it nearly as quickly as I could have done! I went up after him.
"Now, that was stylin'." I told Rythian
"Thanks"
"No, not you, I was talking about myself! I'm very stylin'! But, I guess you were kinda awesome... ish."
I smiled, but he looked angry! I don't know how anyone could get angry at such a compliment!
Rythian's POV
Starting on the shelter, I quickly made a wall of dirt using the spell: moaventium .
Then, I put together a small table, in order to made a condenser and power flower later on.With that, I could become the most powerful man on the map. If I so desire.
As I worked, I noticed a presence behind me, and turned around. There stood Zoey.
"Rythian...."
"What d'you want? Do you need something?"
"What's this?"
I looked up. She was pointing at a tablet with what looked like scales balanced on it.
"That's my transmutation tablet."
"How does it work?!"
"Ok, so, you put the source object in the left scale, and you can create a different object with similar value in the right," I explained "If you want something with a larger value than what you put on the left, however, you can burn things in this slot at the bottom for fuel." I pointed to a smallish hole in the tablet, it was perfectly central to the two scales and about as big as a tennis ball.
She nodded.
"Cool." I watched as she put two arrows on the left, then they disappeared and appeared on the right side again.
"Hey Rythian. I put in dos arrows and made dos arrows!"
"Well done, Zoey. Good for you."
She grinned at me, turned on her heel, and pulled herself onto the dirt wall, saying,
"Yay! Now, I'm a wizard!"
"Nya, I prefer the term 'Mage'"
She blew a raspberry at me and leapt gracefully down from the wall. I was starting to change my thoughts about this girl. Even if she has science in her eyes, maybe, just maybe, I will be able to trust her.
