Shōto's POV:

Akatsuki had finally fallen asleep and I had with that managed to take a shower.

Katsuki retired to our bedroom around half an hour after dinner as he was feeling like his heat was arriving. If nothing else, I could smell it. He was definitely in his heat now.

Entering our bedroom, I found him curled up on the bed, his breaths uneven and his cheeks flushed.

"Baby... Help me..! My fingers aren't nearly enough.. I- I need you..."

He was so honest whenever he was in heat, which was extremely sexy. I had been patient for hours while I was taking care of Akatsuki. Throughout all those hours, I'd smelled his pheromones, and resisting my instincts was hard, but I managed to keep my calm for my daughter's sake.

That was undeniably the familiar sound of my father's shouts I was hearing first thing in the morning, and I got out of bed in a hurry.

His voice came from downstairs.

I was quick to put on a pair of pants and a shit.

"Huh? What's up?" Katsuki drowsily asked.

"My father is here..."

Katsuki's eyes widened as he too stepped out of bed and got dressed.

"I'll go to Akatsuki's room, so you should go down and do what you have to do."

I nodded in agreement as we parted ways.

"Shōto! Come down! I know you're not at work!"

With a sigh I walked down the stairs to meet his gaze.

"Calm down. I have a reason."

My father frowned at the sight of me.

"What the hell is that reason?"

I was silent for a moment before Katsuki came down the stairs with Akatsuki in his arms.

"I am! Do you have a problem with that, bastard?"

My father just stared at me, Katsuki and Akatsuki in shock.

"This is Katsuki, my mate, and our daughter; her name is Akatsuki Todoroki."

It was easy to tell Katsuki was somewhat regretting his entrance as he had an uneasy look on his face.

"For how long have you kept this a secret from me, Shōto?"

"Katsuki became my mate 13 months ago. Akatsuki is eight months old. She is still very young, but her alpha genes are extremely dominant and she's already been declared an alpha."

My father was completely silent for once.

"An alpha with genes that dominant... How is that possible? According to the doctors, you had very dominant alpha genes being declared an alpha at the age of five, but eight months.. That's just absurd. What about you, the mother?"

Katsuki looked a bit uncomfortable as my father looked at him with a piercing gaze.

"I was declared an omega at 17, but I'm from a very long bloodline of alphas with two alpha parents."

As expected, father was just as confused about Katsuki being an omega as everyone else. He was the only omega in his bloodline and that was a mystery to us all.

"A long bloodline of only alphas... Are you possibly a Fukisumi?"

Katsuki's tensed up.

"....Please keep that a secret, but yes.. They're currently after me and my mom. Me being an omega is a disgrace to their bloodline so they want me dead to say the least."

I was actually surprised over how calmly and politely Katsuki was talking to my dad. I didn't expect him to spill everything to someone who he'd just met.

"I see. Shōto; well done protecting your family.

With that my father took his leave.

I was extremely surprised over his reaction. He even praised me for protecting my family... Maybe he actually did have a side to him that he didn't show me or my siblings? Did everything become like this after Toya died..?

Toya was my eldest brother who died in a fire when I was just three years old. I didn't really remember much about him except for the fact that he too, was an alpha who my father was very proud of and that he was the one who kept our family together. After he died our family became cold and distant. It fell apart as mother had to be hospitalised for the first time a few weeks after Toya's death. She couldn't handle it.

"Shōto..? Is everything okay? You seem to be very deep in thought."

I approached my two most beloved people in the world and gently embraced Katsuki.

"That was the first time since my brother died that he praised me."

"Your brother died?! You never told me about that.."

I nodded.

"Yes. Toya. He died when I was a small child. Ever since he died my family has been a mess, but hearing my dad say those words made me think that he might be getting better after all this time."

Katsuki smiled at me, his cheeks still rosy from the heat that was still going on. He had endured it this whole time. He was so strong.

I grabbed Akatsuki and made Katsuki lean on me for support.

"I'm sorry you had to push yourself so hard. Let's get you back to bed so you can rest."

Katsuki agreed as his body started to weaken underneath him.

"Yeah. This heat is too troublesome.."
