《Old Friends (K/DA x male Reader)》Chapter 10

Why is Ahri with such a bastard? Eve told me a lot about the relationship, how they met and so on. The guy can only hope that I never meet him, I don't know if I could hold back. me and eve are just arriving at the house, get out of the car and pick up the bags from the car trunk but I don't have time to relax I still have to go to my parents house with Akali. We go inside and I see Ahri sit on the sofa while she looks at her phone.
"Morning Ahri, slept well?" I ask and she looks up from her phone but hesitates to answer me, eve has warned me that she will be a little awkward around me.
"Yes I did thank you, where were you two?" She asks while her gaze goes to Eve. Eve drops the bags she is holding and sits down next to Ahri.
"We picked up our stuff from the hotel" Answers eve. I hear something running down the stairs when I look I see Akali sprinting down the stairs with a nervous face.
"you're finally back, where are my things?" Akali asks stressed, eve points to one of the bags by the door. Akali takes the bag and runs back upstairs.
"I'm almost done Y/N, I'm going to change real quick!" Akali calls as she runs up the stairs. before I can answer I hear a door slam shut. I look at eve and Ahri, who are both giggling, and I look at them in confusion. What's going on with Akali? Since she knows she's going with me is that she's so nervous.
"Since you left she runs up and down saying that she has nothing to wear. I haven't seen her so nervous in a long time." Says Ahri to eve which only confuses me more. Why is Akali so nervous about something like this? It's not like this is a date, we're just going to my parents' house to pick up some stuff.
"Why that?" I ask the two, and they look at me blankly.
"Were you always this dense, darling ?" eve asks with a chuckle. Yes, it's really funny, but you could just tell me what's going on.
"...yes he was." Ahri answers quietly, which finally makes eve burst out laughing. Ahri seems more disappointed than amused, while eve tries to calm down, Ahri just looks at the floor with sadness. After a few minutes, we are all on our phones while I'm waiting for Akali, Ahri's phone suddenly starts ringing when she sees who's calling her, her face turns into an expression that I can't really describe, something between tension and anger. She jumps off the sofa and walks toward the back door that leads to the garden as she leaves I hear her take the call.
"hey babe...." she says annoyed, I look at eve and she just shrugs. I don't understand why Ahri is with him after what Eve told me, he is the worst boyfriend you can imagine. Just the fact that she lives with me now shows what an asshole he is, his girlfriend needs help and has to go to someone who she hasn't seen in ten years, where the hell was he when the four of them were fired? I am torn from my thoughts when I hear someone coming down the stairs.

"You ready Y/N?" Akali asks, I look to the stairs and see her.
Okay she is hot, I mean it's nothing special but it doesn't matter, looks cool anyway and I never noticed how in shape she is. I get up from the sofa and take my car keys from the table.
"yeah, let's go." I say and we make our way to the door. as we walk down the driveway, I whisper something in her ear.
"You look beautiful Akali." The second I say that, she turns bright red and looks away from me. Now that I've said that, I'm worried that it sounded weird, but for some reason I had to say it. Just as I'm about to apologize, she says something.
"W-What are you talking about Y/N? that' s nothing special." she says quietly while looking down at herself. at least she doesn't seem to think it was weird of me but I don't know what she's talking about, it' s hard to deny that she's a very beautiful woman.... Man it feels weird to think that way about her, what's wrong with me? No, there's nothing wrong with me, she isn't the little girl I remember... clearly.
"Who says I was talking about your clothes?" I whisper in her ear she twitches and turns redder than ever but says nothing for now. I walk away from her, we sit down in the car and I drive off.
"t-thank you Y/N, you l-look nice too." She says after a few minutes, the last part just loud enough for me to understand her. I have never seen her so shy she is usually so confident at least on the outside, even though I always found that good in her, nice to see that I bring out another side in her. I look at her and smile at her, she looks away nervously again making me chuckle.
The drive takes a while because my parents house is on the other side of town but after about 20 minutes we arrive. Me and Akali talked a lot during the ride but nothing really important, at least she seems to be starting to get more relaxed with me. We get out off the car and look at the house.
Exactly as I remember it. When I moved out, a neighbor and friend of my parents offered to take care of the flowers because they were very important to my mother, good to see that she kept her word. We walk to the front door. About halfway there, Akali, who is running behind me, asks something, so I stop and turn to her.
"Why did you move?" She asks.
"I couldn't stand it here anymore this house reminded me of everything I've lost, my parents, you girls. I just wanted to leave it all behind me that's hard to do at the place where it happened." I answer and I immediately see how guilty she feels about my answer.
"I'm sorry Y/N" I shake my head with a smile and am about to answer her when I hear someone calling my name.
"is that you Y/N? what are you doing here?" I look past Akali and see the older woman who called me. I pass Akali and go to the woman.

"Hey Eleanor, only picking up a few things." I say while hugging her, Eleanor is the woman who takes care of the garden, she was my mother's best friend and always like an aunt to me. She takes a step back and smiles at me but quickly becomes concerned when she sees the cuts on my face that I got on my last mission.
"what happened there?" She asks while putting her hand on the cuts.
"Nothing bad, this is the risk of my job, don't worry." I answer, she knows that I am a seal, she is the closest I have to a parent figure. The second I decided to join the navy I told her, she was against it at first but after I promised her something she supported me.
"okay but remember your promise..." she says sternly, I chuckle and nod my head.
"I will do everything in my power to get home safely." I say and she smiles, then she looks behind me and notices Akali who stood behind us the whole time and apparently listened to everything, great now she surely has more questions about my job.
"And who is that? Have you finally gotten yourself a girlfriend?~" she says while walking to Akali. Akali turns red again because of this remark
"Hello my name is Akali, a friend of Y/N" Akali says shyly and they both shake hands.
"A friend?" Eleanor asks while she looks at me and grins.
"yes and nothing more, stop the interrogation." I answer in a fake annoyed tone which makes her laugh.
"Well, it was nice to meet you Akali. I have to go now but Y/N on Saturday in two weeks some of the neighbors are having a barbecue, you come too and bring the girl too." says Eleanor as she starts to walk away.
"Why does this sound like an order?" I call after her
"Because it was one, until then." she calls back, I shake my head and laugh. I look at Akali, she smiles at me and we go to the front door, I take out the key and unlock it.
"You don't have to come if you don't want to, that's her way of a polite invitation." I say as I open the door and we go inside.
"She seems nice, I would love to come" Answer Akali as she follows me into the house. I close the door behind me and look around, it feels weird to be back in the house I grew up in but I'm doing better than I thought I would, I expected to hate being back here but it's kind of refreshing.
"Wow it really is exactly how I remember it." Says Akali while looking around the house. I had my best moments with the four of them here in the house it feels kind of good to be back here with one of them. But I'm not here for a nostalgia trip and I don't plan to stay long.
I smile to Akali and gesture her to follow me. We go down to the basement and open the door to the studio my parents set up for us. I am surprised at how professional the space is my parents must have invested a lot they both had good jobs and never had a problem spending a lot of money especially when it came to my passion for music they were always very proud of my talent I always wonder if they would be disappointed if they knew what I became. I make my living killing on behalf of my government, I know my job is important but I can't help but think that they would hate me if they could see the things I have done.
"Are you okay Y/N? You haven't moved for minutes..." Akali asks worriedly, which pulls me out of my thoughts. I see her sitting on one of the five office chairs that stand by the large desk in the corner of the room. I sigh and sit down on the chair next to her.
"Everything is okay, I was just thinking, don't worry." I say while I smile at her and put my arm on the table. She looks worriedly at my arm and I notice that she stares at the scar on my forearm. I quickly take my arm off the table and cover up the scar.
"Akali don't worry about me. that was seven years ago and it was probably the biggest mistake I ever made." I say quickly and tears come to her eyes. Before I can react, she throws her arms around me and cries into my chest.
"I a-am so sorry Y/N, I s-should never have left. I m-missed you so m-much, every day but was too much of a coward to f-find you. But I promise I will never leave you on your own again" She says with a quavering voice. I get up from my chair and hug her, which she quickly returns.
"Everything is good, you are with me now, that's all that matters. I missed you too, my little rogue" I say softly before I give her a kiss on the top of her head.
"Don't call me that, you idiot, I'm not a little kid anymore." She says with a chuckle as she playfully punches me in the chest.
"I know, but for me you will always be my little rogue." I answer as I take a step back, lift her head by the chin and wipe away her tears with my thumbs.
"We have to start packing everything up, the others are waiting for us." She says as she turn away from me to hide her blushing face. We spend the next hour packing up the things and talking about what we have done in the last years. Of course I didn't tell her what my job is, I really wasn't in the mood for that.

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.

The Complete Alchemyst book 1
You've heard of superheroes, seen them flying across the sky, destroying great swaths of cities and ending countless innocent lives in order to defeat great evils and world-spanning threats and sell lots of sponsorships and merchandising opportunities. This is a story about the guy that is not those heroes. A supervillain in a world where making the right friends and political contacts is what separates the good guys from the bad. The Alchemyst is a story about a normal guy in a crazy world that spends his time trying to follow his dreams and conscience, working on new potions, thinking about girls, and lifting heavy shit, while trying to stay under the radar of the superheroes, supervillains, and governments that want what he can do. And occasionally turning them into makeshift melee weapons. If you enjoy The Boys, the Aberrant roleplaying game, Mystery Men, Trashy romances, Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, or SAW you may enjoy this book. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people.
