《No Longer In the Fields, 45th Hunger Games (COMPLETED)》Chapter 3

Finbar's POV
I'm pulled into the justice building, where there will no doubt be people saying their goodbyes to me. Well, they won't have to, because I'm gonna win these games. First it's my family, which includes my mom, my dad, and my baby sister. "Why the heck would you volunteer?!" yells my mom, a scared look on her face.
"Son, you know you might die right? Only one comes out..." my dad says quietly, he too is scared.
"I've trained my whole life, I can spear people in the chest with a trident, slash people with a sword, and shoot a bow like a pro, I got this." I say, and I don't care who gets in my way, I'm winning these games.
"Well protect your sister till the very end." my mom says.
Mom has always favored my sister, and Dad has always favored me. We are both twins and equally ready to win these games. The peacekeepers come in and push them out the door. They only allow up to three visitors, for three minutes. Next is my girlfriend, Ocean, who hugs me like it's the end of my life.
"Be safe, please just win..." she cries. She has always been afraid of the games, and this year because we are both 18, she thought that she would end the worrying.
"I'm gonna win this thing, ok Ocean? I'm gonna come back and win." I stare at her for a few seconds, and before we can even kiss the peacekeepers drag her out. I don't get any more visitors, and they walk me to the car.
The escort, Fanny, goes on and on about her excitement and how nice it is to have a brother and sister. But me and my twin, Siren, just stare at each other. We both have wavy blonde hair with streaks of blue from when we would play in the ocean, and we spent so much time spearing fish there that it naturally dyed some of our hair a faint blue. We both have square like faces and deep ocean blue eyes. We both find eachother attractive, and have no shortage of admirers in district 4.

We get out of the car to a beautiful blue room, that they say is the common area. "Well we mustn't see the dining room just yet, there are still plenty of things to see." Says Fanny as they take us to our bedroom, which has some kind of machine that can make your hair however you want in a minute. The capitol is somewhat of a hot topic, there are most of us that like or love the capitol, and some of us that hate the capitol. I am in the middle. I'm not like the people from district 12, where everyone absolutely hates the capitol, but I'm not like districts 1 and 2, where everyone loves the capitol. I meet my mentor, mentors are people from your district who have won the games before you, and get called to the capitol to train you for the hunger games. My mentor is Muscida Selkirk,
"Hey, I'm Muscida, you Finbar?" she asks, I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping for a male mentor.
"Yeah, that's me," I say, "who's Siren's mentor?" I ask, but I also hope Siren has a good mentor as well.
"I'll show you." Muscida says with a smile. We head downstairs to see Mags Flanagan. I immediately recognize her, as she is the first victor from district 4 that I know of.
"No way, you get Mags, Siren!?" I say, and Siren smiles,
"Fanboying over her Finbar?" Mags is a somewhat older lady, as she won the 11th hunger games, and this is the 45th hunger games. She can't talk so she just does somewhat of a bow, she must've lost her voice after all these years.
"Well, dinner is ready, lets go." says Muscida, ushering us to the dining room, and me and Siren stop when we see all the food on the table. The whole table is covered in gourmet dishes that look amazing, and they have a whole nine course dinner! We sit down and I just follow what Muscida does.

She starts with the first course, which is a white soup. I take a sip of it and I'm astounded by this soup. It has bits of crab, clams, and the soup itself is somewhat rich and sour. I know that I'd better eat all the food I can until I go into the arena. Next is course two, which is bread and grain, and I just grab a piece of some cinnamon bread and I absolutely love it! The soup tasted weird, but this is amazing. Three is some sort of lemon cheese sticks, and I take a bite out of it and immediately spit it out and push it away. "Not your style?" asks Siren, who starts giggling,
"Yeah yeah, well, on to the next." I say. Four is a salad that is good and healthy. Five is strawberries covered in some kind of white sauce which tastes alright. Six is the main dish, which is a fish topped with butter, garlic, chili peppers and so much more. When I eat it, it reminds me of home, where we would spear fish to meet our daily quota.
I skip over seven and eight because I'm almost full, and end up on a delectable treat that they call ice cream, which we never get back home. It's like frozen milk with flavoring and nuts on top. "I'm full." I say after a whole meal of silence as everyone has just been eating, and I head to my soft bed and immediately fall asleep.
