Spark's POV

I wake up to my mentor, Thorburn, who is calling my name. I stretch my arms and legs getting ready for the day. I see Thorburn. Thorburn Chlodowech was I believe the 3rd victor from district 5, and I've never seen her games. She has red hair in a ponytail, and blue eyes with a pointed chin and face. "Well, I think you should start with breakfast, Spark." I nod and eat some kind of apple donut pudding, and my district partner Jo says,

"Let's go watch their games, James and Thorburn's." James Logan is hated by the capitol and Jo's mentor. Jo has bright blue eyes and red hair, a normal look from district 5, and 17 years old. I'm a year younger than him but I have to admit, he's attractive, but I'm not looking to make love here, especially because only one comes out. I go with him and we put a tape in that says, "40th Hunger Games'' I'm kinda scared to see what these mentor's games were, but I gotta find out at some point.

I see that the arena this year is a swamp, and she runs to the cornucopia. The careers this year are hardheads, and have already killed two people when she arrives. She grabs a spear and a knife and her ally, Jessica, hits her and she is already dead. She throws a spear into the boy from 4's chest, killing him immediately, and the careers, who are tributes from 1, 2, and 4 usually, scream "KILL HER!!!" Then some kind of alligators drag a boy into the water and kill him. That night the careers murder the girl from 10, and I frantically turn off the TV when I see her get killed, as our mentors are calling us. I look out the window and see the capitol, a huge city that is modernized and like nothing I've ever seen in district 5.
