If I say that I love you.

Promise you I mean it.

I stopped allowing it to be a a phrase that we repeat once I saw love was a verb.

My heart can only fight so much and it's only willing to fight for those who's rooting for us. So if I say that I love you please note I've practiced the words several times questioning if I mean it.

I've seen the words dance around me and waiting for that perfect moment to reveal that you are not just another human being on this earth that I can mentally erase, but rather someone that I've taken out of second place. The words I once thought was only for mom and dad or the brave soul to take care of all of my broken pieces and remind me that I was never broken to begin with.

Those words.

I soon learned were able to be used for anyone crafted within the image of God.

Anyone who's taken the time to water your soul and watch you grow.

Reserved for the ones who saw you begin to grow into your cocoon and weren't sure what you were doing but

never left your side.

Those are the people who deserve those words....
