《Petrichor - e.mikaelson》53

Frankie recovered surprisingly well from that day though she spent almost all of it wrapped up in Elijah's arms. She couldn't believe that Cami had been up and running about the same day which her compulsion had been lifted because she was gripped with such exhaustion she was sure she could barely move.
Fortunately she was just fine eventually, and better still no one brought up how vehemently she'd known that Elijah was the devil. Even Klaus who relished any opportunity to taunt her understood that a reminder of how she'd acted would only cause her pain. She'd been nervous the first time she left the room, love for her friends filling her as each of them pretended nothing had happened.
Both she and Cami lived at the compound full time from then on. She and Elijah would occasionally spend the night at her own apartment but he was so protective of her each time they left compound that she almost worried about the strain it put him under. He'd never been this worried about her before but she understood how terrifying what she'd gone though had been for all of them and why he needed to know she was okay.
Her brother had visited too though she declined to tell him the full extent of what had happened when she never showed up to thanksgiving. He'd actually been the one to sound the alarm that she never showed. When she hadn't arrived on the first day like she'd intended, he shrugged it off presuming she'd been waylaid, but when a second day passed and she didn't return her calls he grew worried. He knew Damon had Klaus' number thanks to their time in Mystic Falls and when he called to find out if Klaus knew why she wasn't here nor calling him back, they'd both realised simultaneously that something was wrong.
It was somewhat a tense visit considering everything that had happened between him and the Mikaelson's, particularly their mother, but it was one that everyone tolerated because it was for Frankie.
Eventually he left and things retuned to the new normal, one with the Mikaelsons, Cami, and Frankie. Rebekah was still at large, apparently while Frankie and Cami were taken by Lucian, she'd been caught by the Strix and then Aurora and staked. Klaus and Elijah had tag teamed in their searching and they knew her location at last. Though they hadn't brought her home yet, with each piece of the puzzle they were closer to finding her and she had no doubt they they would.
Frankie was laying on the couch in Elijah's room now, her laptop propped on her stomach and her legs sprawled across Elijah's legs. She was typing out replies to her emails without much effort while he read, his fingers absentmindedly running across her skin comfortingly. His touch was always so tender across her skin and she felt herself flood with love for every piece that made up Elijah.
"I like how you touch me," she murmured.
Elijah stilled, the corner of his lip quirking up in surprise and amusement as he raised his eyebrows. His fingers that were trailing across her leg paused and he closed his book, placing it beside him on the side table.
"Do you?"
"Not like that," Frankie rolled her eyes, shutting her laptop too and placing it beside her as he had, Elijah pretended to look wounded and so she corrected herself, "Not not like that, but just when we're doing normal stuff. Your thumb always traces me, or your fingers draw circles, it makes me feel like I'm really here, and it makes me remember you're here too."

"And I'll always be here," he promised, "I'll always be here to ground you."
"Ugh," Frankie groaned, sitting up only for her hand to land on his chest and push him back with mock roughness, "You're too fucking nice, it's ridiculous."
"My apologies, perhaps I can make it up to you."
"Your brother's home," she reminded him as his fingers grazed the base of her shirt, "and I literally cannot take another trip to the kitchen after we have sex he always knows."
"Yes well he probably can hear," he pointed out with a smirk.
"That's so fucking weird," she groaned. Elijah began to kiss her neck at this point and she pushed him away though with such particularly low effort that he didn't even budge, "Like don't you think it's weird you've heard your brother have sex and he's heard you have sex? Ric's never heard me have sex!"
"But you're so good at it."
Frankie pretended to puke, "He's my brother."
"Klaus is on the other side of the compound," Elijah promised, pressing a quick kiss to her lips that she fell into easily, "I heard him in the kitchen talking to Camille."
"'Lijah," she groaned.
"My love," he taunted in response.
"Why don't we go to my apartment," she suggested, both hands landing on his chest as she pushed him back with a little more force so he pulled away to look at her, "A whole evening of no clothes and no one eavesdropping. Freya put that spell on that bars anyone supernatural without invitation so you don't need to worry about anyone coming in, and I've even got those brownies that I never got to take to Ric's because of the whole Lucian thing."
"Alright," he nodded, smiling and pulling her to her feet, "but I'll be holding you to that."
Frankie grinned, grabbing her laptop and her jacket before turning to search for her shoes, grinning as she saw Elijah there, holding them out to her.
"Love you," she murmured, pressing a kiss to his lips and pulling the sneakers on.
Elijah's lips quirked up into a grin that didn't dull even as she pulled away and turned to the door. His arm had wrapped around her waist before they left his room, tugging her towards him and speeding them both from the compound as he whisked them to her apartment.
As he always did now he paused for a moment before she put the key in the door, listening for a moment to check there was no one in the apartment. It wasn't that that he necessarily expected there to be anyone there, but he was so on edge that something would happen to her again that he had to check. He knew he was overreacting considering she'd been taken twice before and he'd never behaved like this, but she'd been not nearly as shaken then and he needed to protect her for both of their sakes.
"Did you mean it when I suggested those brownies?" she asked, kicking off her shoes and switching the lights on, "We don't really have to have them if you don't like, or you don't at least."
"Why not," he laughed lightly, pressing another kiss to her lips, "So long as we honour the other thing you mentioned. It's certainly warm enough in here."
"Really?" she grinned excitedly, "You're going to get stoned with me?"
Elijah nodded, his heart flooding with delight at the light that filled her face and the grin that erupted across it. She set to work excitedly, preheating the oven and pulling the brownies from the freezer while he pulled his phone out, quietly ordering a pizza to arrive in an hour knowing how much more delighted she'd be by that.

While Frankie was certainly someone who enjoyed getting high, it wasn't something she liked to press upon people. Now she thought about it, earlier that day was possibly the first time she'd ever offered to get high with Elijah. He'd never said anything bad against it, nor ever seemed to judge her for it, she'd simply always presumed that it wasn't something he had any interest in.
When the smell of the brownies began filling the apartment she pulled them from the oven, turning to face Elijah with one in each hand, alongside a knife.
"Okay," she explained, cutting a third of the first brownie away, "I know they look small but these babies have kick. I'm only gonna have like two thirds of one because of how stoned I got that night and I think you should have half-"
Frankie cut herself off with her mouth falling open. Elijah had reached out to the full brownie, pulling it from the plate and placing the whole thing in his mouth at once. His lips twitched into amusement at the shock on her face and as he swallowed he leaned forwards and pressed another kiss to her lips, repressing the urge to laugh at the way her mouth immediately fell open again.
"Elijah, I get high a lot and a whole brownie fucked me up. Are you sure-"
"I'm sure," he nodded, "Now I believe we had a deal about your clothes."
Despite the concern that filled her, she had no doubt that Elijah was in control so much of the time that he surely knew what he was doing. Placing her own brownie in her mouth, she wrapped the final third up and placed it in the fridge in case she wanted a boost later.
Elijah was rather insistent about her clothing and she laughed as he peeled it from her, tossing it away and pressing her beneath him on the bed in only her underwear. She felt the brownie kick in when his touch turned quite literally electric and his fingertips left sparks across her skin with giggles falling from her lips.
"'Lijah," she laughed, wrapping her legs around his waist and tumbling them over so she was straddling him and he lay beneath her with his hands steadying her on her waist. Leaning down, she began to pepper his skin with kisses, "'Lijah I love you. I love you, I love you and I love telling you."
"I love you too, my sweet," he replied with a smile, his hand landing on her chin as he pulled her face closer to kiss her again, "I would do anything in the world just to see your smile."
A knock on the door broke them from their trance and Elijah grinned, tugging his trousers on before leaving her on the bed as he went to answer it. He left the pizza box atop the coffee table, returning to the bedroom though he ignored Frankie's inquisitive stare, instead reaching out and picking both her and the duvet up and carrying them to the living room.
"Elijah," she laughed with surprise, "What're you- Oh my god."
"You like Attenborough, yes?" he asked, dumping her and the duvet on the couch before reaching for the remote and the pizza box, "Blue planet?"
"Oh my god," she repeated, "Am I dreaming?"
"No," he chuckled.
While Elijah was certainly stoned, he let himself fixate on her rather than on spacing out. All he wanted was to cause her to grin and laugh and when she fell against him, the duvet tugged up around her and the pizza box in hand he felt everything in his body explode with delight. He felt every tingle of love pass through him that she had, especially as her bare skin connected with his, her body still clad only in underwear as he'd been before answering the door.
When the third episode ended alongside the pizza, Frankie leaned back, pulling her head away from Elijah's chest as she looked up at him. Her hand rose to his face and it stroked gently across his cheek causing him to look down at her.
"This is not okay," she said quietly, a frown overtaking her features though one softened by the pout that her lips were pulled into.
"Hmm? he murmured, pressing a kiss to her temple and running his fingers through her hair, "You're alright."
"You can't be this chill right now."
Frankie was stoned. Frankie was so stoned that she felt sure that the next time she had the brownies she'd need half not two thirds.
The pizza and the show had been everything she ever wanted but she couldn't wrap her head around how normal Elijah seemed right now. Certainly his hands were more attentive than they'd usually be, running across her skin almost consistently since they'd first sat down. Too he'd had nearly as much of the pizza as she had and he did take just a little longer than normal to answer the questions she asked, but considering how much of the brownie he'd had she half expected him to green out.
Elijah chuckled softly, "I'm a thousand years old, did you really think I'd never done this before?"
Frankie stared up at him, wondering whether she deserved to feel as horrified as she was by the knowledge that Elijah was better than her even at weed.
"I think I'm having an identity crisis."
"You'll recover," he chuckled, his hands falling to her hips as he lifted her with ease to sit upon his lap facing him, "I'll hold you untill you're good."
"This is like if I was better than you at that heart ripping thing," she explained, ignoring his gentle kisses along her skin as she rambled, "Or if I had my own suit and looked really really good in it. Or if I was super— what does Klaus call you when he's ranting about you?"
"Noble."
"Yeah," she nodded, "If I was that. Or if I could speed really quick, like quicker than I can go on my skateboard. Of if-"
Frankie was cut off, this time by Elijah's lips that landed on hers and caused her to let out a gasp of surprise. She didn't exactly care if Elijah was better than her at getting high at that point, because if she was honest with herself, right now all she cared about was that he never let her go.
She'd had sex with Elijah while she was stoned before but not with great frequency; though she'd always enjoyed it, he was always a little more reluctant knowing that she wasn't as coherent as him. They only ever even really did it when she was stoned because she would ask and she'd remind him of a promise but it was more than a rare occasion.
With both of them stoned though, things were different. Elijah was like he normally was with her but she had all the delight of the high that caused each grace of his fingers to overwhelm her. She wondered briefly if every movement felt as euphoric to him as it did her but before she could his lips had fallen to her neck as his fingers tugged her bra away and every question she'd ever thought to ask disappeared from her head at once.
When Elijah carried her to the bedroom, laying her out and pulling her underwear entirely away she was certain she rose to heaven. She lost all control of herself and every ability to think in that moment, curling her fingers through his hair and tugging tightly involuntarily as her legs wrapped around him.
"Please," she begged, "Please, please, please-"
"Please?" he chuckled, rising and pressing a kiss to her lips while his hand fell between her legs, "Please what?"
"Elijah."
"I know," he smirked at the look on his face as her fingers curled tightly around his biceps, "I've got you."

BOOK 1 COMPLETED A young wizard journeys west, through dark forests and dangerous lands, searching for something. Accompanied by a wild witch who has secrets of her own, they come across terrible creatures, hauntings, cursed villages, and memories from their past. Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.
