Join Rory as he comes to grips with his new reality, developing new powers and gaining friends and foes alike. This is my first attempt at writing a story of any kind and is dedicated to Rory who died from SIDS at a far too young an age. This story will contain great adventures, epic battles, good friends and foes alike. I am aiming to create a world that will, in some small measure, hopefully keep his memory alive.

An adventurer, accompanied by a protective guardian, had set out on a journey to explore the world of Aequiria, inspired by the thousands of tales formed previously, to forge a tale of their own through iron and strife. . . . A force known as the Aegi-Machina, souls bound to mechanical suits of armor powered by magic was formed by a figure known only as the "Golden General" during the times of strife sixty years ago. Their mission is to prevent those with power from becoming too powerful and causing another cataclysmic event, and to protect the weak from tyrannical entities. A report has shown that a powerful source of energy was found to the eastern regions of Eyr, and to fufil their mission; they must contain it. Left in the middle of the fields was a mangled body. The person lying on the ground and on death's door was Kan Lock. He lied down and awaited for the beasts and monsters to come and ravage his body. Feeling hopeless in this situation Kan thought to himself, "Why am I always so weak? Why was I betrayed? Why did it end like this? Will I never know the reason for my parents' disappearance? Why? Why!? WHY!? As his body turned cold, Kan was left with regrets and unaswered questions but he resisted. He didn't want to die with regrets so he fought against death. He stood up and faced off against the hungry predators. He laughed and laughed in the face of death but in the end it didn't matter how much he struggled. Kan Lock had died but his story had not ended.
