《The linstead story》I'll Miss You

Today is the day that Jay leaves for a year. I am not looking forward to today. Today is going to be a very emotional day for me. I wish he didn't have to go but it's only for a year. Only 365 days they'll go by fast since I'll be so busy with Hank and Jay jr. Jay and I decided that we would get up earlier than usual to get the boys ready so that we could go and have one last family breakfast before he left.
Jay are you ready to go? I asked Ready to leave this behind me for a year no, am I ready for getting breakfast with my family yes. He replied Jay, you'll be back here with us in no time. I said. I know but I'm gonna miss working alongside you and just being here watching hank and jay grow up with you. I'll miss so much while I'm gone. Promise me one thing. He said. And what would this one thing be? I asked. I want you to promise me that if you are ever feeling overwhelmed with everything that you ask for help you can ask hank any of the guys or even Will. he said. Of course I promise but how much trouble can these to cute little boys be they are two of the most well behaved kids that I know. I said.
The Halstead family then headed to a diner that was near the airport since once they finished breakfast they would head right to the airport since that was where they would be meeting up with the rest of their friends. Once they arrived at the diner they had a very well enjoyed breakfast just with their little family. They didn't talk very much since neither one of them knew what to say. Once they finished up their breakfast they payed for their food then they headed over to the airport to say their goodbyes.

Once they arrived at the airport they saw that the whole unit and Jay's brother Will and Nat were already at the airport waiting for them to arrive. They all took one last picture together before they started to say their goodbyes. They all said their goodbyes and wished him off well and told him not to worry about Erin since they would all be helping her out. Everyone except for Will and Nat, Hank and of course Erin and boys had left. Jay had written a letter for each of them since he knew that he wouldn't be able to tell them in person otherwise he would of cried. They all hugged Jay one last time and then he went and boarded his plane.
The letters he wrote to each of them were kind of like if I don't make it back here's what I want you to know. No one had the courage to read the letters yet. They all walked out of the airport Hank helped Erin get the boys into the car and he invited Erin over to have some lunch and so she and the boys headed over to Hanks house to have some dinner.
Erin how are you actually doing. I know that you are trying to be strong for the boys but they are asleep upstairs right now so you can let it all out. Hank said. Honestly hank, I miss him already I thought today was gonna be a lot easier but it turns out that it is much harder than what I thought it would be. I didn't even know he had written people letters and I know what they are about. The letters are if he doesn't make it , it's what he would want us to know. He even wrote ones for the boys. If he dies over there he won't be able to watch them grow up and as much as I tell them about their father they won't remember him from their memories except for the videos we have of them together. I said. Erin, he is going to come back and you won't have to worry about him not watching those two wonderful kids grow up. Trust me when I say this he is coming home. Hank said

Later that night
We got home from Hanks at about four and since then we have just been relaxing around the house. When Jay gave me the letter he wrote it gave me an idea that I should've done when they were born. I decided that since anything can happen when I'm at work so I decided that I would write a letter to Jay, Hank and Jay jr and Hank jr. Incase anything ever happened to me I would want them to have something they could remember me by. After I wrote the letters I realized that it was time for dinner and I didn't feel like trying to make dinner so I just threw a frozen pizza in the oven and decided that we would have that for dinner and after dinner I went and got the boys ready for bed and read them one of their all time favorite books which technically isn't a book it's more like a journal that Jay writes in about the boys. I decided that I would read them the story he wrote when they were born.
When you boys were born it was the happiest day of my life since we thought we were going to be having one boy and one girl but instead it turned out to be two wonderful boys. I couldn't of been more excited. When I first thought about two boys I could only think of all the things that we would get to do together I was excited to have two boys because that meant there were more men in the house and us boys need to stick together when your mom tries to buy herself some more shoes when she already has way too many. Now I can say that you too need to have things for when your older that I get to play with now. Naming the both of you was easy for us we already knew that one of you was gonna be named after your grandpa Hank since he has been a big influence in your mom's life but he also became a big part of my life once I started dating your mom. And then when we found out it was two boys your mom decided to name the other one you after me. Which was a big surprise to me I never thought I would name one of my sons after me. You boys have been the best thing that has ever happened to us and I love you both very much always remember that. Love daddy.
Once I read them their story they were both fast asleep and I decided that I would take this time to go into our bedroom and take a shower since I won't be able to have much time alone anymore. Once I got out of the shower I put on a pair of leggings and black nike socks and I threw on his Cubs long sleeve shirt that he got after they won the world series in 2016. I knew that sleeping alone in our bed wasn't going to be easy so I decided to put one of our body pillows their so that the bed wasn't completely lonely then I turned on the tv and started watching how I met your mother and I ended up falling asleep.
