Dazai was silent. He knew about the spirit of Kaori and Otonashi who helped you. It was precisely him who asked Hatsune to do it. Hatsune, Kaori and Otonashi's graves are only a few blocks from the Odasaku's grave.
"Do you have to go now?" You asked.
"Our mission to help you is complete. We have to get back to our place as soon as possible so we won't ruin your world. That's what Hatsu-chan said to us." Kaori answered.
"But," You couldn't say anything more. Only with your spirit friends, you can feel so happy.
"From the beginning we always watched you, [Y/N]." Otonashi said. "Since we left, until when you married Dazai, and up to now."
"We'll always watch you from there until we meet again." Kaori continued.
You felt someone wiping your tears. "Dazai and [Y/D/N] are your light now. Take care of them!" You smiled to Kaori's voice.
"Dazai," you said, asking for help to release the effects of Hatsune's ability on your two bestfriends. Dazai sighed and grabbed your hands.
"Kaori-chan, Otonashi-kun, thank you for helping [Y/N]." Dazai didn't forget to thanked two of them. He knew you won't go that far to save him if it's not because of them who pushed your feeling.
"We should be the one who said thank you. Without your call to Hatsu-chan, we wouldn't be able to meet or to talk to [Y/N]. Arigatou, Dazai-chan."
"My ability," Dazai said softly.
"It's a short but beautiful time, isn't it?" Said Kaori softly.
"Farewell," Kaori and Otonashi said it in synch. "[Y/N]-chan." "[Y/N]."
"No Longer Human."
With that, you felt warmth return to your body. You looked up, felt the cold that had enveloped you slowly fade away. Hatsune's ability was separated from you.
"Please watch me from there, you two!"

What can I say, I'm a sucker for rebirth, regression, and transmigration stories. This one is a regression story. The main character get's yeeted back in the past, to where the end began. Read on tortured souls as I do my best to break the weak, and sooth those who don't have a soul to break. I spent some time trying to make a story that explores all the gritty situations a resident of the apocalypse would encounter. Unfortunately, I do struggle with pace. I get just as impatient as you when I can't get to the next bloody encounter. But I despise OP characters, and I really wanna stop and explore the fascinating death of civilization. I write this in hopes of making a main character who get's to be the bad-ass I can't be, without, you know, skipping the good stuff.
