"Im glad you two came to a conclusion." Kates father says giving us a fake smile. I can tell its fake by his dead eyes. Im guessing thats where Kate gets her eyes. They both have evil ones.

Evil black eyes.

"Now that you two will be married we need a house for you two to move-"

"What!" I yell out and Kate elbows me on my side. "Im sorry what?" He looks at me like im stupid. I thought Kate was the most infuriating person but shes gone down on the list. Her father is number one now.

"Married people cant be living separately. That shows a bad message to the people. Media is everything. I need you two to show that you are a happy couple. Put your differences aside." He says simply.

I want to kick him in the shins then his dick.

"Not more than I want to." Kate says besides me as the driver stops the car. Its a small neighborhood. A few minutes away from the college and close to the city.

A boy walks his dog spotting us and his jaw slacks as he runs over. "Can I take a picture of you two? Im your best fan. My name is Chris!" He beams with his eyes almost popping out of their socket.

James lets out a deep laugh as he grabs his phone as if he isn't an asshole who just forced his daughter to marry someone. "Here buddy. Have a wonderful day." The boy runs off as Kate smiles at him her act leaving as he disappears.

She backs away from her dad putting her hands in her pockets. "Heres the key go look inside I have to take a call." He throws the key as Kate catches.

"Lets go honey." I cringe at her sentence as she wraps her arms around my shoulder. Once we get in I push her away.

"Modern house." She sighs. We enter the first bedroom. "Im guessing this is the masters you can have it im not a fan of huge rooms."

"I would have gotten it even if you wanted it. Remember our deal?" I smile. Im basically in control of her. She rolls her eyes shutting the door as we enter the hallway.

"Wheres the other room?" She questions and I shrug not caring. "There is no other room. I believe it was a one bedroom house is that not what was on the application?" A lady says.

"Hi im the realtor." She smiles holding out her hand.

"What do you mean no other room?" I sure as hell aren't sleeping in the same room as Kate. "I mean there is an office room but its in renovation so far. Once its finished you can change it into a guest room."

"Do you two have a lot of people over? I remember when I was young and so in love." Except we're far from in love.

"Yeah the team likes staying over a lot." Kate lies for us. "Thats wonderful. Ill give you two some space to think about it and once your ready you can sign the papers in the living room."

She leaves us alone as I lean my head back against the wall shutting my eyes. Why does this happen to me? Couldn't I have had a happy marriage like Atlas and Tate for example? Im jealous of them.

I open my eyes to see Katarina right in front of me. "So? Once renovation is finished ill take the office you can have the bedroom. Deal?" She says nonchalantly.

"Deal."

"No deal." Her father says. "You two will be in the same room. Remember I will have many people over discussing business and what not I don't want them to think you're not a couple. You two are staying in the same room and thats final."

She rolls her eyes and her dad comes closer with a clenched jaw. He looks dangerous. His fist is clenched like he might hit her and I unconsciously grab Kates wrist pulling her behind me.

"Deal." I say quietly and he gives me a nod of appreciation. "Go sign the papers then."

"You think people will be suspicious if I accidentally run him over with a car one day? Over and over again." She questions and I stifle a laugh as I bite into my fries.

"Im sure they'll think its an accident." I say sarcastically. Theres a silence in between us yet its kind of calming. "I never thought I would ever be having dinner with you in my life." She laughs.

"Hey we've had dinners together before."

"Only because we had mutual friends."

"True."

"Besides your bitchy exterior you're not so bad... Vasquez is it now?" She questions. "Yeah no. Im keeping my last name whether your father wants me to or not." I say ignoring the insult.

"Im sorry about him by the way. Im pretty sure if he went to therapy he would be diagnosed as a narcissist but of course he doesn't believe in that bullshit."

"Understandable. Its not your fault though you know that right?" She sighs in response and I grab her hand in a caring gesture.

"Yup." She huffs.

"What are you guys doing here!" Chloe yells scaring the shit out of me as I pull my hand back. Layla walks behind her not saying anything as she grabs a chair sitting down. There was space right next to me but im guessing it would be awkward for her to do that.

"Figuring out the whole marriage thing." Kate yawns. My eyes widen at her honesty. I thought we promised not to tell anyone about it. "Who's getting married?" Layla questions.

"Vic and I."

"What?" She questions looking at the both of us. "It wasn't really consensual. Long story." I shrug. "Of course it was consensual babe." She laughs.

I look at her raising my eyebrow. Now just what the hell are you doing here? "I thought-"

"Opposites attract after all I guess."
