《Running After Her》Chapter 11

Victoria
"Couldnt we have moved in the spring?" Its so fucking hot. I sit down on the cold grass as I watch the movers bring a sofa in. Im guessing Kates father bought all of this shit for us because I sure as hell dont remember buying that couch.
"You aren't even carrying any of the heavy stuff." Kate rolls her eyes as she carries a huge box up the porch. Easy for her to say. Shes an athlete. The most athletic thing I do is probably yoga.
"Dont pay attention to her. I think your doing great." A boy about our age maybe a little older says as he offers his hand pulling me up. "Thanks." I smile.
"You go to college?" I question. I feel like ive seen him somewhere. "Nope. But I didnt feel like it was for me so im saving up money for a business."
"Fancy. What type?"
"Clothing line maybe." He shrugs. He does have an odd style but it kind of fits him. "Marcus."
"Im Victoria."
"Listen Marcus we paid you to work not talk to my fiancé." His eyes widen as he immediately apologizes heading back to the truck.
"What the hell was that for?" She ignores me walking away as I head inside. Shes such a prick sometimes.
Also whats with her throwing around the word fiancé all of a sudden. We don't even stand each other. Reading my mind she grabs a water bottle on the table as I feel her hovering over me from behind.
"You cant flirt with random people. It gives a bad idea. Understand?" She says and I scoff at her words.
"So what you can fuck other people but I cant make friendly conversation?"

"Who said I was fucking other people? I wont be as long as we're in this deal. I dont want anything to ruin my chances of getting back at my dad and if that means I have to be celibate then I will."
Well thats surprising. Out of all the things I expected in this marriage it sure wasn't Kate becoming celibate.
"What? You don't think I can do it?" She laughs.
"Pshh I never said anything its just weird."

Katarina
I lived in the dorm for a couple of months by myself but now that im actually living with Vic it feels emptier than usual.
Probably because shes making me sleep on the couch. This couch is fucking uncomfortable too. I cant stand her shit anymore. Shes been making me do everything. And by everything I mean everything.
Like waking up at 5 in the morning just to get her breakfast by 6 so that she can have her meditation time. Who the fuck even meditates at 6 in the morning?
I feel like starting a fight now. But I know that wouldnt end well. Yet my bodies begging me to.
I liked it when we fought the other day. We've never put our hands on each other before but I liked her anger when she was pushing me around as weird as it sounds to admit.
I get up with new found confidence. Im not sleeping on the couch just because she tells me to. I open the bedroom door to find her on her phone.
"What are you doing here get out." She shoos me away not paying attention to me as I bring my blanket walking around to the other side of the bed.
"Did you not hear me clearly? Get out." She places her foot right where I'm about to lay down and I push it away slapping her thigh.

"Did you just-"
"Yes I did. Now move over I have practice early in the morning." She doesn't move and I forcefully push her rolling to my side as I ignore her threats and requests.
"I said you aren't staying here remember the deal? If you're not keeping your half ill leave."
Shes calling bluff. I know it. As much as she hates this whole ordeal she loves her parents validation more.
"Do it then." I threaten.
She leans over looking at me as if im serious. "Go on." Vic then backs away quiet and I smile to myself.

I feel her grab a pillow putting it between us as a barrier. So childish I swear.
————
Why is it so loud in here? I open my eyes not seeing Vic beside me and then I hear a loud crash making me shoot up sprinting to the sound.
I find Vic with a glass of water in her hand half asleep. "Jesus Vic you scared the shit out of me I thought you were getting murdered or something." I say rubbing my chest.
She yawns leaning her head on the counter as I watch her weird behavior. I cant tell if shes sleep walking or not.
"Vic?"
No response and I tap her shoulder making her stumble. "Alright lets go." I grab her by the legs wrapping my arm under her back as I carry her back to the room.
"Don't get into the corn maze." She frowns. What? I stifle a laugh as I set her on the bed. I check the time noticing that I have to get up in about two hours and this bitch just made me waste ten minutes all because she was sleep walking.
Unbelievable.
The bed creaks and the pillow moves as I feel a hand sneak over sitting itself on top of my stomach. So much for the barrier.
