《NCIS:LA Season 7 (Densi)》"The Long Goodbye"

It was the start of the day where Callen and Deeks were in the bullpen doing some paperwork and drinking coffee....well Callen was Deeks was waiting for Kensi to bring Starbucks coffee in for work.....but she was late again......
"I'm not trying to give her a hard time. I'm just pointing out that she's late." Callen said to Deeks standing in front of him "Yeah, but "late" is a relative concept." Deeks replied "There's nothing relative about showing up at a specific point in time. Either you're there or you're not." Callen said "Yeah, but I'm talking about L.A. time, which is a chronological zone unto itself. See, in this town you get a buffer of 20 minutes for traffic, cloudy skies-- God forbid it actually rains-- and general selfishness." Deeks explained "None of which changes the fact that Kensi is late. Again." Callen continued "That's true. Where's Sam?" Deeks asked changing the subject "Sam is having a little alone time in the gym. Jada Khaled is going into witness protection today." Callen explained "Wow, has he talked to her?" Deeks asked "They haven't spoken in four years, not since Jada found out that Sam was actually NCIS. Woman was ready to give up her entire life to be with him." Callen continued "Yeah, I think I'd want some alone time too." Deeks replied
"Your coffee's cold. Compliments of the PSB." Kensi said rushing through work and handing Deeks his cup "What?! Kensi, no! " Deeks said "Don't make a joke, I am not in the mood for this right now." Kensi said standing between Callen and Deeks desks "Why don't you let me handle the PSB?" Deeks asked "Because I don't need you to handle the PSB." She replied "What is the PSB?" Callen asked "- Parking -" Deeks was just about to then "Don't get him involved in this, okay?" Kensi said looking at Deeks "Do you want me to Google PSB right now?" Callen said sitting in his chair "It stands for "parking spot bitch," Every day, I go to Starbucks, and this chick in a red Porsche pulls up about 30 seconds behind me and double-parks, completely blocking me in, so I can't leave until she gets her pumpkin-spiced double-shot flavored concoction that basic girls like her get on the way to the office, an office which, unlike me, she arrives to on time." Kensi explained "Are you sure this isn't iced?" Deeks said pulling a face after taking a sip
"Okay, what am I supposed to do? Badge her and claim it's national security?" Kensi asked "Tomorrow morning, we show up in the Challenger, we block her in after she's blocked you." Callen suggested "That's what I'm talking about." Deeks butted in "I'm not sure that blocking the entire street at rush hour and intimidating the PSB is my idea of subtle." Kensi admitted "PSB will be MIA ASAP." Callen said slowly "All right, yeah, I just wanted to talk about this. I wasn't looking to initiate an operation to neutralize her." Kensi explained "That is the perfect solution." Deeks said "I'm not asking you for a solution." Kensi replied "Sounded like she was asking for help." Callen asked "I don't understand why you're freaking out so much." Deeks asks "Oh, you are such guys. Women sometimes just want to talk about something. They're not looking for advice or a solution. Wow. Sometimes I wish I wasn't the only female in this bullpen. There, I said it." Kensi explained

Everyone was in ops getting briefed except Sam and Granger they were in the gym.....
"The traffic cams on the street went dark five minutes before the ambush. Now, the point man on the scene was a U.S. marshal named Drew Groller." Eric explained "He's been handling Jada's protective detail since we brought her back from Sudan." Nell said "Groller said the assault team used smoke grenades to cover their retreat. Vanished without a trace." He continued "And so did Jada. Without camera coverage or the ability to see through the smoke, we can't confirm her whereabouts." She finished "Could have used bigger explosives on the transport vehicle and killed everyone inside. Which means they wanted Jada to come out alive. So she's somewhere hoping that we find her before they do." Callen explained "Who are these guys?" Kensi asked
"Marshals captured one of them, Diego Salazar-- a Mexican national with ties to the Molina cartel." Granger said to Sam in the gym "Jada's from Sudan. She doesn't have any ties to the Molina cartel." Sam replied "But her brother Tahir is still on the loose. She testified against him. Turns out the war criminals are not the most forgiving of types." Deeks said "Tahir would have inflicted revenge himself, but he's stuck in Sudan." Kensi replied "Molina cartel specializes in hits and kidnapping. Could have outsourced it to them." Callen finished "You want me to interrogate Diego Salazar?" Sam asked "I had him moved to the boatshed. He took a bullet to the thigh during the ambush. The wound's been cleaned and bandaged but otherwise untreated. He's probably very uncomfortable at the moment." Granger explained
"Who leaked Jada's convoy route?" Callen asked the twins "Well, The Hague just learned their database was hacked. The packet of files that were breached contains Jada's itinerary while in Los Angeles." Nell said "I reviewed the hack. It's the kind of high-end job you only see from nation states and cartels with the resources of nation states." Eric continued "This ambush is a bold move. Would have had to have been approved by Molina's senior leadership in Los Angeles." Callen thought "Well, we think that's Alex Molina. He's the eldest son of Arturo and rumored to be next in line to the throne." Eric replied "We "think" Alex?" Deeks asked "Well, this is the DEA's only photograph of him, taken at age 12. His father made sure he was protected from the public eye his entire life. The only Intel we have on Alex indicates that while he's extremely private, he does fit the mold of the dashing playboy." Nell answered
"Fortunately, the DEA is close to getting its first look at Alex as a grown man." Eric finished "So you combine the Molina cartel with a dashing playboy scion being investigated by the DEA, that can only lead to one possible scenario." Deeks said taking over "DEA Agent Talia Del Campo." Kensi said as Deeks looked at her "Exactly. She was assigned to the case last month. She recently scored an invite to Alex Molina's mansion for a pool party, and she just notified us that she'd, quote-unquote, "be happy to have Kensi tag along as her plus one." Nell read out "So charming." Kensi replied "Work with Talia. Find out everything you can on Alex Molina. We'll hit the ambush site, debrief Groller." Callen explained "What about Sam?" Deeks asked "Sam is gonna have his hands full." Callen replied

As Deeks was with Callen and Sam was in the boatshed integrating a suspect. Kensi was going undercover with Talia so Talia needed to fill in Kensi about what their cover story was once again.......
"All right, run me through our cover story one more time." Kensi said to Talia as they pulled up in front of the house "I'm a former runway model from Buenos Aires. You're my sister." Talia explained while Kensi was freshening up "And? That's it. That's kind of thin." Kensi replied "Yeah, well, it got me to Alex Molina's doorstep in less than a month. Trust me, as long as you fill out that bikini, they won't ask too many questions in there." Talia said fixing her make-up too "All right, what's our protocol?" Kensi asked "They're gonna search us. They're gonna take our phones. You might want to put your gun in the glove box. DEA put a camera inside my lipstick to take pics of Alex Molina. They also gave me some GPS trackers, just in case we want to keep tabs on people." Talia explained again "Perfect." Kensi replied "We are officially in cartel country, princess. Ten women for every single one of those Sinaloa cowboys in there." Talia said "Literally an hour ago, I was complaining about being surrounded by men all day every day at work. This makes me feel like I'm pretty lucky. I hate being treated like a piece of fresh meat, even if it is just undercover." Kensi explained
"You and I both. Honestly, sometimes it takes me a week, if not more, to start respecting men again after a job like this." Talia said "Really? I thought I was the only one." Kensi said "You kidding?" Talia asked "Didn't peg you for the sensitive type." Kensi replied "Well, I guess you should see my after-work routine on days like this." Talia said "Ah, let me guess. An hour in the shower scrubbing yourself raw, and a pint of Haagen-Dazs on the couch." Kensi answered "Not even close. Cold Stone on the chaise. Hey. I'm glad I'm not walking in there alone." Talia said looking at each other "Let's get to work." Kensi before both of them got out of the car "Manny! Long time no see." Talia said "Who's your plus one?" He asked "This is my sister, Kensi." Talia introduced "Hi. So this is Manny, the one you've been telling me about." Ke sir walked "You know she only hears about the cute ones." Talia said "Search them." He said "Thank you." The girls said "Mm-hmm. Hey, um are we ever gonna get to meet Alex?" Talia asked "You girls play nice, and we'll see." He replied "So cute." Talia said as they both walked in the house
After Kensi and Talia got out of the undercover op they both went back to wardrobe to get changed.......
"So it doesn't seem like the Molinas know where Jada is yet either, but there was a guy at the party with a laptop who was putting together what looked like a search strategy for her." Kensi explained as the girls were getting changed behind the screen "What, is that tech support for the hit squad?" Callen asked "Well, I put a GPS tracker on him.
He hasn't left the mansion yet." Kensi replied "Well, he's probably laying low now that he knows we're on to him." Deeks said "Well, we got our first clean look at Alex Molina. Which means an NCIS-DEA task force will keep an eye on him from this point forward." Talia explained as well "Wow. Hey, guy? Mm-hmm. Can we take a moment of silence to appreciate the awesomeness that's happening right behind that screen?" Deeks asked "Yeah, guy, we can. But we still don't know Groller's motivation. His field office did confirm that he had gone dark. Which means, for the time being, we're left with Wayne Morris." Callen replied
"And Sam said that Morris is the one that is financially and logistically responsible for kidnapping Jada and getting her to Sudan." Deeks answered "Do we know where Morris is now?" Kensi said as both of them came out from the screen fully clothed "Yes, we do. Taking the day off from work apparently. He just bought a movie theater ticket online from the Vista Theatre in Hollywood." Nell explained as she came down from the stair "Not exactly what I'd be doing if I was planning a snatch and grab on a Sudanese warlord's little sister. " Talia said "He's using the theater as cover. Could be for a dead drop, could be a rendezvous with the Molina hit squad or Groller. Either way, we should be there." Callen thought "Well, I would get there fast-- the show starts soon." Nell finished as everyone left
The case was wrapping up quite fast so the team started to get there weapons together......
"All right. I see how it is." Deeks said "See how what is?" Kensi asked "You turned this into a guy-versus-girls thing. "What? Deeks" Kensi tried to say "This whole thing is an elaborate ruse to resume the great PSB debate with another ladybird in the room." Deeks continued "And by "this whole thing," do you mean the Molina ambush, Jada, or what'll go down when she gets on that plane?" Kensi asked him "Talia, how do you feel about being roped into our little gender war here?" Deeks asked "For the record, this is not a war and I'm not on his side." Callen said "What's a PSB?" Talia asked "It's this evil lady that double-parks and blocks Kensi into the Starbucks." Deeks explained
"Wait. You've got a Parking Spot Bitch, too?" Talia asked Kensi "Yes." Kensi replied "Oh, my God, do I hate PSB's. Do you want to talk about it?" Talia asked her "Yes." She replied "Girl, I'm here for you." Talia finished "Thank you." Kensi said with relief as Deeks and Callen just looked at each other "Okay, the only thing that proves is that you're both unhinged. Am I right, Callen?" Deeks asked "Still not taking sides." Callen replied "Aw, come on, man, this is supposed to be us versus them; conquer and divide-- this is what they want." Deck answered "The Molinas are moving. Alex and the guy Kensi tagged are headed for an airstrip - in Van Nuys." Eric said waking in "- Flight manifests?" Callen asked "There's a private charter jet scheduled to leave in an hour." He continued "Let's move. Fast." Callen finished
As the case closed everyone was in the armoury putting the weapons back and cleaning up......
"Nice having you around, Talia." Callen "You know, we should hang out sometime. Go to a Clippers game, grab some beer." Talia suggested "Mm Rockets are in town this weekend." Callen replied "What is happening here? I'm usually the object of your inappropriate work-space attention. And, you, I thought we had plans this weekend." Deeks asked "This is exactly why I didn't commit to you, Deeks. I'll think about it." Callen replied "You should." Talia said "What what about me?" Deeks said "Okay, settle down, Deeks. He's obviously a social guy; you should cut him some slack." Talia replied "Callen always has plans." Kensi explained "Yeah, what, to stare at the ocean and smolder?" Deeks thought "Mm. You do give a good smolder." Talia put in there "Thank you." Callen replied "Oh!" Deeks said with a confused face on "Okay. Good night, Deeks." Kensi said
"Wait, where are you guys going?" Deeks asked his girlfriend "I'm gonna go crush copious amounts of ice cream with females only." Kensi replied "Females only." Talia said "I'm sorry. Who's gonna sit here and listen to me vent?" Deeks asked "Not us." Kensi said as they both walked out "Good night, Deeks." Callen said as well "Wait, I got a solution. How about tonight?" Deeks said "What about tonight?" Callen asked "You and I go grab beers tonight." Deeks answered "Guy, I told you, I need to think about that." Callen replied "Think about what? Tonight is happening right now. We are on this ride together. And I know the place, the perfect place." Deeks explained wiping out his phone "Okay. Really?" Callen said "Yeah, right around the corner, and they got a happy hour for another two hours, and they got craft beers-- do you like craft beers?" Deeks asked "Love craft beers." He replied "Well, they got craft beers, and they got jalapeno poppers, potato skins, they got, uh oh, the mozzarella stick. That's the trifecta-- you can't turn down the trifecta, 'cause you Callen? We're-we're just gonna meet there? All right, I'll just, I'll just text you the address. Callen?" Deeks explained as he turned around and Callen was gone

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

STEM: The Topical Dungeon
Inspired by CORE: The Volcanic Dungeon by Ace Arriande and a spiritual successor to my writing prompt series Evolution Barricade, STEM is a series following the reincarnation of Kaden into the fantasy world of Brogdar. Reborn as a "DM" and a plant, Kaden tackles the challenges of being the agent of the chaotic god: trying to be his very own dungeon master. However, unlike other stories, Kaden is often making fun of and dealing with disadvantages that the normal reincarnated hero would never have to worry about. A parody of the normal tropes of isekai, STEM is a periodic series that is intended to release a minimum of once per week. There may be times where there is more than one drop, but those would be special occasions. Additionally, the content tags are simply to try and ensure my readers know these stories can encompass a large variety of things. They may not immediately be in focus, but they will all end up appearing!
