《Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark》Glitchy Yellow

Well, I was about nine, and I was a BIG Pokémon fan. My first and favorite of the games was Pokémon Yellow.
I LOVED that game. Just a few years after having it the internal battery of the cartridge died. I was devastated. But I kept it out of respect (and because I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away.) Ruby and Sapphire came out at the same time my Yellow had died so I begged my mom and dad for Ruby (mostly because red's my favorite color). But, them being parents, all they said, "Why do you need another Pokeman game?" First, I corrected them telling pointing out that it's called Pokémon, not Pokeman. Then I told them why I wanted another game. I said, "Because my other one died!" They asked what I meant by "died" and I told them that the battery had died. They just said, "Oh, then just replace the battery." I told them that you cannot do that, but they really didn't seem to be listening to me (once again, them being parents and all) so I just decided to leave the room. Later that night, I asked them once again at dinner and they said, "NO." Being both sad and tired, I went to bed right after dinner.
The next day, I didn't bother asking at breakfast because I knew what they would say. So I was pretty much silent through the whole meal (if you could really call breakfast a meal) and I went to school. Nothing exciting happened (it being school and all). I walked home from school as I normally do, got home, went to my room, and looked on my bed, hoping I would see some sort of surprise from my parents. I noticed my Yellow version was on the bed-which was weird seeing there. I knew I hadn't left it there. Confused and weirded out, I decided to put it in my GBA SP. (I really don't know why; I just felt like I had to). Then, to my surprise, it actually did everything normally. The intro started up as usual. Then it went to the title screen, but the Pikachu looked different somehow. It looked almost malevolent. I didn't really care at that moment and I pressed start. Weirdly enough, my save file was completely restored. I was overrun with joy as I started up my old file once again. But for some reason, I was in Pallet Town. I knew that wasn't right since the last time I played, I was at the Indigo Plateau. Also the music of Lavender Town was playing which was really weird at that point.

I went into the grass at the beginning of Route 1. Suddenly, Oak said, "Don't go out there! It might find you!" I wondered why he had just said that. Then my sprite followed him to his lab, and he said "........that was close.....it could have seen you." At this point I was really confused. I thought to myself "It? What the heck is it?" Afterwards, I just shrugged it off, thinking maybe it was glitched somehow. At that time, my mom had just gotten home. I just saved and turned the game off.
Later at dinner, my mom asked how my day was, and I said, "Pretty much normal." Then my dad talked about how someone stole his pen at work or something along those lines. I really wasn't listening because it really wasn't that important to me. I mean, I know he's my dad but it was only a pen. It's not that bad to have to rant about it at dinner. But anyway, later that night, I started playing the game again. I was still in Pallet Town and the Lavender Town music was still playing.....but now it was a lower pitch. I decided to fly to Indigo Plateau since Oak wouldn't let me leave the usual way. I walked into the building and checked my party. They were all at low HP so I decided to heal them.
I walked to the room where you face Lorelei. I went to face her and she said, "Welcome To Hell." Then the battle started and it said, "Servant Lorelei wants to fight." The battle was pretty much normal though. The battles with Bruno, Agatha, and Lance were also normal except the fact that it always said, "Servant (insert E4 name here) wants to fight." Things started to REALLY scare me when I got to my rival. His text box read "...." Then the battle started. The music was a song I had never heard in Pokémon Yellow before. It almost sounded like chanting.......Then my rival's sprite appeared. His eyes were completely black, and it seemed as if he was staring straight at me.

"Master Satan wants to fight."
I thought to myself "......Did it just say Satan?!" Then he sent out his first Pokémon. Its name was HellHound! I beat it and Satan said, "Nice try, Devan, but that one was my weakest. I have much more powerful demons with me." He had used my real name! My character's name was Red! I was really scared at this point.
I reached for the on\off switch but a terrifying screech came from my Gameboy. I actually threw it at the wall, hoping to break it. It stayed on, though. I ran to it and ripped the demonic cartridge out, hoping to stop the noise. I turned the Gameboy off and threw both the system and demon cartridge into the trash where it belonged.
That night, I had the strangest dream about that demonic game. Blue (AKA Satan) said, "Play with us. You know you have to. HahahahaHAHAHA." I woke up the next morning, and asked my parents, "Did you do anything to my Yellow Version?" My mom said, "Yeah, we sold it so we could get you that Ruby you wanted. Why do you ask?" I paused for a moment before saying, "No reason, ...Mom."
