Dan and Aubrey haven't told anyone about their proposal, but they're keen on doing so as soon as possible. But first Charlie needs a ring.
For the past three and a half hours both Charlie and Dan have scaled the streets of London looking for a jewellery shop. None of them seem to have a ring which is appealing, or eye catching to Charlie.
"I know you're tired." Dan whispers while he kisses Lacey on the cheek after bouncing her up and down.
"Can I ask what is your ideal engagement ring?" A woman in a designer suit asks Charlie.
Charlie looks at Dan and shrugs. She doesn't know the price range that Dan is willing to spend on her. "The most expensive." Dan interferes while Charlie's jaw drops. She was thinking a couple of thousand if lucky, but the most expensive...
"Is this a dream or what?" Charlie laughs in awe while Dan shrugs. He knows that this shop is least likely to have rings suited for multimillionaires, but he still wants Charlie to have the best that he can afford. If not he'll get her a more expensive one in the future when he has the money after Illusion.
"You're a real lucky girl. I wish my hubby made me pick my ring, look how horrible it is." The woman who is serving Charlie and Dan holds her hand out, the ring itself is emerald but with almost rusted gold.
"Is it an heirloom?" Charlie asks with a false smile, although she absolutely despises the ring.
"You wouldn't know how many times I've got asked that question" — the woman sighs before shaking her head — "it was a brand new ring...it's always looked this cheap and plasticity" Charlie cringes while the woman nods her head.

"So as you was saying about the most expensive rings that we have in stock..." her voice then trails off while Charlie excitedly looks at her fiancé.
She can't hold her happiness inside for any longer.
"We have a small collection in the back but I'm afraid because of their rarity and value we can't let you try them on, although they're the perfect fit." Charlie nods her head as soon as Dan nods his. He'll go bankrupt for Charlie if he has to.
"A fancy wig and an expensive engagement ring...ain't I the luckiest girl in the whole wide world." Charlie nudges Dan's arm while he smiles.
Charlie's new wig is so realistic that no one has second looked her. She looks like her usual self, she's planning to never take it off unless it's bed time.
Dan hold's Lacey upwards and hides behind her. "Mummy deserves the whole wide world." He says in a light goofy voice pretending to be her. Charlie's eyes helplessly water while Dan quickly makes an 'awe' noise.
"She didn't say that, I did." He nudges her arm trying to cheer her up.
"Don't make me emotional when I'm trying to act like we can casually afford this ring." Dan smiles and nods his head slightly.
"Sorry for saying the truth then." Charlie's eyes narrow, but before she can possibly say anything else the woman comes back into the shop holding a small box of rings.
"They don't seem like much, but these are the finest diamonds that you'll ever see." The woman presumes that they aren't from a posh lifestyle by their clothes.
"They're so purdy..." Charlie says in awe whilst making her voice go into an American accent for the 'purdy' part.
"Yes....they are." The woman chuckles.

"How much are they?" Dan asks pointing to them.
"Eight hundred" — Dan smiles nodding his head, they're more affordable than he first thought! — "grand." Dan then makes an 'ah' sound while Charlie shakes her head pointing to the bargain section.
"I think I want to see them ones..." Charlie mumbles as she rips her eyes away from the gorgeous large diamonds.
"Oh..." The woman says while she then goes to walk off with the tray.
"Nah. We're interested in these..." Dan says with a smile.
"Dan...darling...no." Charlie whispers the last part by giving him a scolding look. She doesn't want Dan to waste money on her, if anything he should be saving up so they can give it all to Lacey one day.
"What one do you like the most?" The woman asks whilst ever so slightly Charlie shakes her head in disbelief that one of these rings could be her engagement ring.
"I like the middle one..." Charlie says while Dan nods his head.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" The woman says while Charlie smiles in awe of it.
"Is this ring safe to wear around a baby?" Charlie points at it.
"Realistically no wedding band or engagement ring is safe to wear around babies. But because of it's value, it's more safer than the cheaper ones." Charlie nods her head with watching Lacey playing with one of Dan's hoodie strings.
She then looks at Dan once more as he smiles. "Oh my god..." Charlie whispers before nodding her head.
"At least when I die you can pawn it." Charlie laughs while the woman eyes widen in horror, it's not something she has heard so casually before.
Charlie then notices her shocked expression and literally pulls her wig off, "I have cancer..." she doesn't know any other way to prove her condition than to pull her wig off. To with the woman then sympathetically smiles while Charlie awkwardly puts it back on.
"Is that a yes to the ring?" It's golden but with a huge diamond in the middle.
Charlie nods her head, but this time she doesn't look at Dan. "Great! I'll need you to sign some few forms" the woman looks at Dan while he nods his head, passing his daughter over to her mother.
"I'll be over here..." Charlie points to a section where there's small dainty rings underneath a big of a woman holding a baby. Curiously Charlie wanders over to the glass case and smiles at what the rings purpose are...
She wants an 'eternity' ring.

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
