The last day of filming has finally arrived.
Everyone on set is feeling a mixture of emotions. Some of the crew are feeing relieved that they can go home, since the principal photography has been nearly completed. However, some are sad that the journey is over.
Making a film is an adventure. From diving underwater in the coldest waters in Iceland, to shooting scenes in LA during the hottest heatwave...it's been fun. But of course fun has to come to an end at some point, and today is the day. Both Dan and Charlie are almost grieving over their characters, they don't want to stop being them.
After sitting in the now nearly bare make-up department, Dan and Charlie make their way to set for the last time.
Normally the last thing that would be filmed is reshoots, however Aubrey wants realism. So much so, that she wants the last day of filming to be the end scenes. There's two that they're filming, one for Charlie and one for Dan.
However, Charlie's scene has been added after the comment at Comic-Con about the introduction of a titular character...that is of course Lacey Dawson.
Dan's scene is longer and more emotional. It's the final scene where Liam realises he cannot change the world, that superheroes can fail innocent people. For it he tries to take his own life. Dan's eager to perfect the film. "So Liam is in a state of oblivion right now. His heart is slowly failing and he can feel it...but he's numb and tired. Just lay back on the bed and capture that essence." Dan nods his head while he lays back on the uncomfortable bed.
Charlie watches from afar with her arms crossed. She definitely has a easier and smaller scene to film. Right now the crew is taking a break, so she thought of watching Dan act. It's only because this might be her last time...watching Dan do something that he loves to do.

While Dan leans back the best grip boy holds the camera over his head while Dan tries to keep a straight face, although he finds it weird.
This film is meant to spark conversations. It touches upon sensitive subjects like depression, suicide, it also defies toxic masculinity. It's why it isn't being promoted on kids channels, as so as this film being the first superhero movie where they don't have a section in the Argos catalogue dedicated to them. There's no toys.
"Maybe if we change the ending to Lily finding him instead of the original plan? Then there's hope for a sequel." Lily's post credit scene is her sitting in a toilet booth looking at a positive pregnancy test.
"A sequel?" Dan asks just about when Aubrey was going to yell 'action':
"Yeah. While it's the last introduction to a new Marvel character...it isn't the last movie. If Illusion does well...expect to be filming again by autumn." Dan's eyes widen a little bit, as so does Charlie's.
"What's the premise of the sequel...metaphorically speaking." Dan adds the last part, while he is very intrigued.
"It's early days but the script is being written now. It involves a wedding between two certain characters..." that's when Dan helplessly smiles. Aubrey more or less told him that his character isn't going to die, or at least stay dead.
Dan nods his head while Charlie awkwardly walks out of the studio and leaves Dan too it.
Instead of grabbing something to eat, or doing what Charlie would normally do in a break time...she sits alone on top of a short newly brick wall that surrounds the studio. She smiles looking at the caved in part of the back entrance to the studio, it's where she and Dan first met.

If Charlie was never a compassionate person that one stormy day...then none of this would've happened. She can't think of life without her little girl...even without Dan.
"What are you doing out here?" Startled, Charlie nearly leaps off of the wall, but thankfully she doesn't. Instead she looks at Chris. She had no idea that he's been here the entire recording time so far, although it's no surprise. She was expecting Dan's mother or something to tag along.
"Thinking..." Charlie whispers while Chris crosses his arms over his dark green Plymouth Argyle top. He's a complete football enthusiast.
"Oh yeah?" He smirks while looking at Charlie's side profile.
Charlie nods her head a little. She isn't really in the mood today to do anything. "Thinking about what?" He asks with a smile, hoping that Charlie will see and smile herself. Even he knows Charlie should be and stay happy.
"They want to make a sequel..." While Chris is becoming more of a fan of this film, he knows that Charlie is obviously in a bad place right now with her health.
"And it's bad enough that I'm having to postpone my treatment...when it's finally starting to actually work...just so I can snog my fiancé for this film. I'll still need chemo by this autumn. This thing doesn't just go away..." Charlie lets out a single tear before laughing at herself in embarrassment.
Chris rests his palm against her shoulder in a supportive manner. "You'll never know." He whispers while Charlie shrugs.
"A part of me wants to get excited. I love these characters with all my heart...but this new poisoned side of me can't allow myself to get excited." Charlie has the fear of missing out, it's why she hates falling asleep during the day.
"Listen to that side of you that hasn't been poisoned." Chris nudges her on the elbow while Charlie nods her head.
He then stands up before pointing to the doors, "how about if me and you go and raid the snack cart?" Charlie goes to shake her head but Chris takes her hand, not taking 'no' as an answer.
