This is the first time that the newly weds have been home in a couple of weeks, and they're not taking a second for granted. This is their only time to act like a normal family...before their next films start production.
"Do these smell off to you?" Charlie covers her nose whilst she makes Dan his fried eggs.
Dan, who has just walked into the kitchen, then shakes his head. The eggs smell fresh. "Nah, they're fine?" But Charlie continues to gag.
"When why the fuck do they smell horrible to me?" Dan shrugs his shoulders back whilst gently pushing Charlie out of the way so that he can tend to the fried eggs instead of her.
"Actually..." — Dan's voice trails off as he suddenly remembers reading the cause of nausea — "in one of those baby books it said that certain women get a little nauseous when it comes to smell." Charlie then rolls her eyes backwards.
"But I didn't have that problem with Lace..." Charlie whines while Dan shrugs his shoulders backwards.
"I guess this is going to be a normal pregnancy?" Charlie cracks a smile before slightly nodding her head.
A normal pregnancy is all she wants.
"Girl or boy?" Charlie asks as she holds down her vomit feeling and continues to make herself some breakfast. She knows that she'll have to be quick since Lacey will probably be screaming for her soon.
"It's way too early for that."
"Bullshit. Girl or boy." Charlie repeats the question.
Dan, who genuinely doesn't mind, shrugs. He honestly can't pick. "I'll be happy as long as he or she is healthy." With that Charlie smiles, nodding her head in agreement.
"As much as I'd love to talk about the new baby...today is a big deal." Dan says with a smile.

"Why's that then?" Charlie asks, completely forgetting Bastille's big news while she crosses her arm around her thin waist.
"Today is the day we reveal Joy..." Charlie then makes a comical 'oh' sound. She's very unenthusiastic about the whole thing.
"Not that it's Valentine's Day...and our film is officially out in the world..." Dan then cracks a smile before shrugging.
"I've arranged plans for us a bit later, and I mean the film is doing okay. 98% on Rotten Tomatoes last time I checked." Charlie nods her head with a smile.
Both of them haven't really said much about Illusions release, they're just proud that it's finally out there in the world.
"Congratulations about the song. I'm thrilled for you...I truly am." Charlie smiles while Dan then walks over to her slowly. They stand about two feet opposite of each other, but Charlie changes that fact and grabs ahold of him.
They both then lovingly embrace each other for a few minutes...before they then part.
"I'm just pissed off that you aren't going to be singing on the album." Charlie throws her eyes back.
"I don't want to take your spotlight away. I know that I'm amazing and everything, but it's just that you've been gone from the limelight for so long...that I firmly believe your adoring fans would kill me if they heard moi sing and not you." Dan tilts his head to the side while he helplessly laughs.
"I've never heard you be so confident..." — Dan's voice wearily trails off — "and I'm not sure whether I like it or not."
"Thank god it was just sarcasm then." With that Charlie leans forwards with laughter while Dan shakes his head, looking seemingly unimpressed. He hates when Charlie self-esteem gets to her.

In the silence Lacey then batters her eyes open. She decides to not scream, but to instead babble. Both Dan and Charlie smile in direction of the baby monitor. "I'll finish cooking yeah?" Dan points to Charlie's messy workstation.
"You go, it's okay." Charlie tilts her head towards the door...even though she wants to see Lacey.
"You sure?" Charlie nods her head again while she points at the eggs.
"Can you deal with those monstrosity's first through?" Dan laughs nodding his head while he puts the fried eggs into the small food waste bin before spraying the room with a fancy air spray. It now smells like Christmas time...and Charlie can finally breathe without the urge to throw up.
"I mean you could've ate them..." her voice wearily trails off while Dan picks up the dark green food waste box and then walks towards the back door.
"Yeah but...the smell would linger more. I'm in a toast mood anyway. You go and get Lacey, okay? I'll stay here and clean up...maybe we can have breakfast out? Day of celebration and all that bullshit." Charlie nods her head with a smile, she still isn't used to life of going out to meals and stuff like that.
"I'll go and get us ready then." She quickly says before planting a kiss on Dan's cheek and quickly walking out of the room.

Ardent Tears
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge.] Youth is something to be treasured, for it is the foundation upon which all experiences are built. It is also a time when some may Awaken as Ardents or Stoics; individuals who can draw great power from the Resonance of emotions. Rowan’efrii is one such youth, but at what cost? This is the story of her journey; of love and loss, friendship and isolation, fortune and tragedy. What can a girl do when she is faced with all the wonders and horrors that the world has to offer? Live! In the Kingdom of Særis, a group of renegade lords are seeking to enslave young adolescents to forge them into Ardents and Stoics. Those that fall will be used in a war against the Azure King. Will they break Rowan, or will they turn her into the very thing that will destroy them. Ardent Tears focuses heavily on all kinds of relationships including: romantic, familial, platonic and sexual. The MC is a clear example of this, especially as she is poly. Because of this, I gave the story my own Poly Tag. This won't be anything like a Harem story and it is being written by someone who is polyamorous (me). There is also going to be several LGBT themes throughout which can't be represented through Tags. Ardent Tears is now on Top Web Fiction. If you like the story, I'd appreciate it if you give me a boost by following this link and pressing boost. Massive thanks to KrazeKode for the amazing cover art. And special thanks to MelasD and Selkie for the shout-outs.
