《Falling (A Sam Evans Fan Fiction)》The New Rachel

A new year had begun, and it happened to be Haley Aldrin's senior year. She walked down the hallway, as the groups of teens parted like waves. JBI was quick to approach her.
"HALEY ALDRIN! I heard on Twitter you are still dating Hobo Stripper."
"Ew, don't you ever specify him using those nicknames. They're awful names. And yes, indeed I am. Now if you please excuse me, I have to go." She said pushing him out of the way, on purpose. He fell as the camera fell to the ground.
Haley joined up with Sam in the hallway as they began walking together, feeling good to be popular.
"Now remember, Sam, we talked about this. Being popular isn't something to take for granted. We need to acknowledge even the outsiders, because we were once in their place. It wasn't pleasant." Haley said sternly, as he nodded.
"Yes, mom." He joked, as she rolled her eyes. "As quarterback and head cheerleader we have quite the status and hierarchy in the food chain." He pointed out.
"Yeah we do. I am not going as crazy as Quinn Fabray, but I am going to make my mark around this school known in the 8 months we have until graduation." She said.
"You're super hot when you are flustered and give me lessons, you know that?" He asked as he pressed his lips to hers. They pulled away after sometime, and walked to the choir room.
----
"Glee!: Mr. Schue smiled and everyone cheered. "We are coming off a National Championship, but it's time to look forward, and thanks to Glee, now being the coolest club in the school this shouldn't be a problem."
"Alright. Yes, we've lost some big voices. But we still have some huge ones in here. And I promise to do everything I can to replace the ones we lost. And on that note, I'd like to introduce you to our newest member: the MVP of last year's Nationals, Wade Unique Adams."
Haley, Sugar, and Sam clapped and walked up to Unique and offered her a seat. "You won't regret joining." Haley said smiling.
"That's a great haircut, Mercedes. I thought you graduated." Brittany commented.
"I wanted to be somewhere where different was celebrated." Unique added.
"You chose the right place." Haley assured her.
"We're so excited to have you . Guys.... Where's the love?" Mr. Schue asked, noticing that a fair majority of the group excluding Sam, Sugar and Haley seemed unimpressed.
"I think Wade is great, but the competition to be the new Rachel is already so intense, the last thing that we need is one more contender." Blaine said.
"The New Rachel?" Mr. Schue asked.
"Every Glee Club needs a star performer. Rachel was that, and now that she's gone, many of us want the job." Tina added.
"Okay, we don't win with stars. "We win as a team. Now, I don't want to hear any more of this...This New Rachel stuff, okay? Have a seat, Wade." Haley rolled her eyes, at the part he mentioned of winning with stars. Like that was true?
"Make no mistake: Unique will be the new Rachel."
"We decide this on our own then... Thunderdome style. 5:00, in the auditorium." Blaine replied.
"I don't know how we will survive this next year, but we will." Haley said to Sam as she leaned into him.
"Oh we definitely will. I have some good things planned." Sam assured her. It was true, he had some special things he needed to do and people he needed to talk to. It had to do with his girlfriend.

Haley, and Sam sat along with the other Glee kids, talking. However, Sam and Haley were in their own moment.
Tina decided to speak up. "You've had more than enough time Artie...so who is it?"
"You can't rush the casting process." Artie replied.
"You guys are Glee Club right? My name is Marley, I'm a sophomore and I'm gonna try out later on." Marley said.
"Hey, Marley! We are so excited to see your performance." Haley said, making room for her to sit down.
"Yeah but, as you know, the competition is just increasing." Tina commented.
"Tina, shut your mouth." Haley said.
"Unique in the house!" Unique announced as she joined the group.
"Wade, you can't wear makeup and stuff. You have to understand how this stuff works. It's like The Game of Thrones." Artie commented.
"Artie...STOP!" Haley yelled in a whisper.
"Yeah, the peace between us and the truly popular kids is weak... winter is coming. It's not gonna take much for us to get smacked down to the bottom again." Artie continued.
"Maybe you should just save Unique for performances..." Blaine suggested. "And be Wade the rest of the time, hmm?"
"All right... I'll go take off my face." Unique said sadly, as Haley sighed.
"Hey, glee people." Kitty Wilde said as she announced her presence.
"Oh, you again." Haley muttered.
"Hey, Kitty."
"Hey, you guys see the new lunch lady? She's so fat, they took a picture of her last Christmas. Still printing." Kitty said, giggling.
"Hey, she has to wear a watch on both wrists because she covers two time zones." another boy joked.
"Maybe she has, like, a medical condition or she swallowed somebody with a medical condition."
"Right, Artie?"
Before Artie could answer, Haley took a breath and stood up. "You know what Kitty? I know I've had it up to here with your bullying and judgy criticism and attitude. Bullying shouldn't be tolerated. And before you can say anything, I know I've been awful to a previous Glee club member, but I didn't mean the harm intentionally. The difference is that I can say it to their face instead of letting others on to joke about another person. See the difference. Rationalize those different scenarios, huh?"
"Oh you are just frickin insecure, you horrible bitch. You can bet your anxiety and depression will come spiraling back this year. Even your eating disorder? Hah." Kitty said.
Haley gasped, offended, as Sam laid his hand comfortingly on her hand.
"You know very well that I hate when people use my personal stories as attacks. The truth, none of that was my fault. Those things happen. We can't control it, but we get help. You have no idea what you are trying to convey in this personal attack so shut your fucking mouth. Because you don't know me bitch." Haley said.
"Well you don't know me either." Kitty tried to defend herself, knowing she was losing. She hated how witty Haley was with comebacks and her knowledgeable intellect.
Haley rolled her eyes. "Oh but McCurly Fries here's the thing...I do. You remind me of a somewhat insecure cheerleader I once knew. You, like she was, are insecure, and are trying to rise to the top bitch and status quo at this school. Girl it won't work. I am captain of the Cheerios, I am dating the quarterback, I am loyal, I know morally right from wrong. Something you will never live up to... unless you can really change to become a better person. So cut the crap and leave me alone, before I get Sue to move you off the Cheerios." Haley finished, as Kitty huffed in annoyance, leaving the table.

After Just Jake as Mr. Schue called him, had ignored the request to pick the music stand up, a certain Marley Rose took to the stage.
"Hi, I'm Marley rose and I'll be singing New York State of Mind, written by Billy Joel." She said as she began to sing.
"God, she's incredible." Haley said in awe of the talent.
"Thank you." She said after she had finished her audition.
"Wow. Now that's what I call star quality. What do you guys think?" Asked Mr. Schue.
"We need her on the team this year!" Haley said, as Sugar and Sam nodded in agreement.
Unique, Brittany, Blaine and Tina muttered some insensitive words as Haley sighed.
"It's a yes." She spoke up, tired of the insincere comments and hate.
----
Haley sat playing the piano, with Sam as they sang some notes and songs, together, while Kurt had his sheet music spread across the room.
"What's this?" Blaine asked.
"I'm organizing all the sheet music." Kurt almost gasped when Artie carelessly wheeled across the room. "Artie, go around it, not over it."
"Thanks, Dottie. You're dismissed for the day." Tina told the girl. "This is for you...And no, it's not a bribe because we all know Rachel told me herself that I'm the new Rachel.
"MVP in the house." Unique announced.
"Bro, I thought we agreed you'd only wear that stuff onstage." Joe commented.
"What's wrong with you guys? This club is about diversity and acceptance." Kurt spoke up as he looked around the room.
"Clearly, they have totally ignored that." Haley added, shaking her head in disbelief at the comments.
"Since when did everyone become so obsessed with who's the biggest star?" Kurt continued.
"Since day one...You and Rachel fought over solos for three years. No more stalling, Artie. Who's the new Rachel?" Tina asked.
"After meticulous deliberation and an online poll, the new Rachel is... Blaine." Artie sighed.
"How?" Unique asked.
"Brittany you were a close second."
"I came in third?" Tina gasped.
"Let's not worry about third or fourth place." Artie said uncomfortably.
"And we don't need to talk about this, either." Tina said, holding the cupcake up.
"Guys, this young lady gave hands-down one of the best auditions I have ever seen." Mr. Schue said as he walked into the room. "Let's give it up for our new member, Marley Rose."
Haley and Sam, who still sat at the piano, clapped the loudest.
"Malrey, on behalf of all of New Directions, welcome." Blaine said in a Rachel Berry type manner.
"Thank you. I'm really excited to be here." Marley said, shyly.
"I really like your sweater. Where'd you get it?" Sugar asked.
"Oh. Thanks. Um, J.Crew."
"Really?" Sugar asked, only to have Sam give her a pointed look.
"Sugar's like our kid in a way." Haley said as Sam chuckled slightly.
-----
"Brittany, I'm sorry, but I won fair and square. You can't just decide not ot sing anymore. We all need your voice." Blaine said.
"I had a song in my heart, Blaine Warbler, and you killed it. Now I have a dead song in my heart, and pretty soon, the corpse of my dead heart song is going to start to smell." Brittany argued.
"Okay, guys. Since we can't do a popularity homecoming float with all why people, I say we should do one with all white chrysanthemums."
"Racist." Haley muttered.
"You're white." Kitty said gesturing to Haley who sarcastically shook her head, wishing Santana was there to watch her rants.
"No. I'm half Latina, and Half American. So I am not fully considered white." Haley corrected.
"That's a good idea." Brittany agreed to the earlier suggestion.
"We need a float, why don't we all just ride her?" A football player asked, as both Sam and Haley sent him a look.
"Guys...please." Haley said. She knew this wouldn't end well.
"Look at her boobs. It's like two grocery bags full of soup." Sugar commented.
"That's really mean." Marley said.
"Excuse me?"
"You don't know her. You don't know what her life is like." Marley defended her mom.
"So? Why do you care?"
"Because she's my mom." Marley said standing up. "I thought you guys were different."
"M-Marley.."Haley called after Marley. She turned around. "You guys were just amazing." She commented sarcastically.
"And you son of a bitchhhh. I will stop at nothing to slap your frickin face off." Haley said getting really close to Kitty, before Sam had to pick her up and threw her over his shoulder, as she kept yelling at her.
----
"Hey, Marley, um, we just wanted to apologize for all of us and beg you not to quit." Sam said as he put Haley down, and they approached her at her locker.
"Look, I get you. Like, for instance, I know that sweater is from Walmart and your mom skewed the J.Crew label into it." Sam continued.
"How do you know that?" Marley asked, panicking. Sam only sent her a small smile.
"Because my mom used to do the same thing for me. The best high about Glee Club is not about labels. If you can sing, if you can dance, you belong. And, dude, you can sign."
"Really, really, really, well. It's phenomenal." Haley nodded as Sam wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"I don't know. You say that, but the way you were making fun of my mom...I mean, Not you two specifically, but the rest of them...Something doesn't feel right."
Just as they were about to respond, the rest of the Glee club approached with guilty facial expressions.
"We came to apologize." Blaine started the apology line.
"I think being popular felt a little too good, and we forgot ourselves." Tina added.
"Well, I didn't. I was always popular, but I do forget to wear underwear sometimes, though." Brittany shrugged.
"THe best part about Glee Club is that everyone gets to be a star." Blaine explained. "Which is why we're all hoping that you could come to rehearsal with us this afternoon and maybe sing lead vocal on one of the songs we're working on."
"And if words don't convince you, let the majesty and mystery of Unique's fabulousness do. I mean it. Glee Club's a special place. I mean, where else could I dress like this, and be welcomed with open arms?" Unique asked.
"Okay, one last thing. I don't think I'm comfortable sitting with that cheerleader and those guys at lunch." Marley added.
"Oh sweetie I don't think anyone is. The awkwardness and discomfort increases 1000%. I get why you are uncomfortable and I'm with you on this." Haley said.
"Yeah, I'm with your mother, Marley." Sam said, as Haley turned to look at him shocked.
"Really, mother?" She asked, holding in a laugh.
"Yeah, we are like the parents of the group." He suggested, as she laughed.
"Oh yeah ahah." Haley giggled leaning to kiss him quickly.
"I was hoping you'd say that. You know?" Kitty said approaching them. We could handle Gimpy and the Tarantula Head and Richie Poor, because you guys were national champs like us, but our invitation was not extended to pre-op Precious based on the novel Barf and Mike and Molly's daughter as part of our crew."
"Well, I guess we're not in your crew anymore." Artie decided.
"You know, I was kind of hoping you'd say that too." Kitty smirked, as the two football players threw the slushies directly at Marley and Unique.
"You guys are asses you know that." Haley said before she pulled out two slushies she kept hidden in her locker. She approached them and threw them at the two guys, who looked shocked.
"How does that feel? Huh?" Haley asked.
"Well, looks like you guys have been officially welcomed to Glee Club." Blaine said, breaking the shock lingering in the air.
"Unique's eyes...They are on fire!" Unique exclaimed.
"Let's get you guys cleaned up and ready to go to rehearsal." Haley said.
